may I suggest something? begin the whole thing lower... It came out, and it was the right note, but it wasn't good to hear... If you cannot make the tone well, you should sing it lower... though, go, find a teacher, it's really helpful

Thanks for the advice. However this video was posted over 2 years ago, with a very low quality camera/microphone that made my high notes shrill.

At this time, I'm currently being coached vocally, as I'm in college pursuing a degree in Music Education with vocal concentration. Before that, I had a different voice teacher for about 2 1/2 or 3 years. I don't think I could seriously call my voice 'untrained' now.

You do have a pretty voice.. you were able to hit all the hard notes without breaking a sweat (or so it seems).. Are you a soprano? It´s funny, because most versions of this song I hear (including my own madrigal´s version) it is sung either by a tenor or a baritone (me).

um, this song was a simple part-song composed during the height of the Continental renaissance, early renaissance in Englad(most likely by Henry VIII). Opera hadn't even been developed. she actually has the perfect for this song. it's basically what would have been used.
