the reason the leopard wont go for a neck choke is because its too dangerous. warthogs are known to injure and even kill cats with their tusks. the leopard wont risk that and simply eats it alive while staying clear of the dangerous tusks. makes perfect sense, but its a long painful death for the warthog.

This was the mother, a big animal, fighting the leopard, trying to protect its semi-grown offspring. The leopard grabbed it as best it could and didn't

let go. Didn't try to dodge the front legs of the warthog long enough to grab

i will sat warthog n evn more wild pigs r d toughest hunts..a wildebeest or zebra might be bigger but u can always get d throat bite..evn against a large buffalo the risks for predator are very less unless he really makes a stupid mistake...but warthogs n pigs r so compact with tusks n sharp teeth that d predator has to be really carefull n skillfull to get a better grip or else it risks serious injury

the only thing that makes this «intense» is the «humanity» of the warthog's screams. the ressemblance with our own babies' screams is what moves us, watching this... but if we let that aside, this is just another day in the savannah, and warthogs are pretty damn well equiped to survive in it; the ones who get cought are the exceptions. those animals are tough!

I wonder how much the vehicles distract these animals? They cant even hunt in peace anymore. Maybe the leopard was so nervous about the giant vehicle creatures surrounding it that it couldnt kill it properly because its waiting for its kill to be taken. They dont know what cars are or if they eat. When animals get nervous they dont act normal. Leave the damn things alone. Wildlife is so doomed.

Cats are consummate predators and the leopard is probably the most efficient killing machine among them. Still takes a while to squeeze the life out of something as tough as a warthog. For those who think hunting with a rifle is brutal, this makes it look like a walk in the park. One good shot with a .39 cal rifle bullet would end the warthog's struggle in a few seconds.

Apparently this is the best way for a leopard to kill a hog, otherwise it would risk getting too close to those tusks. Maybe a lion is large enough to go for the throat on a hog. Leopards do a throat hold on smaller antelope but perhaps a hog is just too strong. The cat needs to eat, too, and not get hurt so it can hunt again or provide for its young. Don't get emotional here, go watch Sesame Street if you can't take nature at its best. Just admire God's work while we still can.

I would say this is an experienced leopard rather than in-experienced one,its obviously seen what those tusks can do so it stays well clear of them and attacks the warthogs belly where it is less likely to get hurt,I have seen quite a few of these kind of leopard kills particularily with big adult warthogs like this one.
