You do a fine and unique job here - really countrify the song more than JD did! You might credit the AllMusic Guide, tho, for the "more info" notes, and you've unintentionally included a major error of theirs. JD did in no way resuscitate the Mitchell group; sales and revenues declined throughout his tenure, and they only recorded four or five of his songs. When the group broke up finally in '69, they were$60,000 in debt - which JD assumed and paid to the penny. That says a lot about him.

"Back Home Again",as with most all of John's compositions,was deeply personal,yet so genuine and sincere,that is had a universal appeal that spoke to the common man. This was John Denver's gift to us all. I can't say enough about him,so I'll just cut it short right here.

It tickles me so that you've done such a loving and really,really fine rendition. This one never fails to move me emotionally,and your take is just as good as JD's original.
