  • Wonderful video. My IW boy was 1 month shy of 9 years old when we lost him in his sleep. He was 225 lbs and 36 1/2 inches at the shoulder.

  • @patteel

Thanks for your comment. And I think it's very rare that such a giant as your IW boy reached almost 9 years !

  • @83budala thats not true my english mastiff is 210 of pure mussel and she is 12 and still looks young

  • @imurgodsgod Yes for two reasons : the mastiff live longer than IWH and female longer than male.

Anyway 12 years old for your mastiff is not usual. Congratulations !

  • @theanimals77

Merci pour les acteurs... Et encore on ne me voit pas ! ;-)

  • @mastifflove710

Yes, cute dog and still in good condition despite it is 8.5 years old (unusual for a male in this breed).

  • the result would be quite similar to a german mastiff (deutsche dogge) as the german mastiff was used in the recreation of both breeds. ;-) but in such a cross you can also get a wirehaired dog.

p.s. so they are really sometime fighting for real. i guess most irish wolfhounds don´t have much dog aggression.

  • @lemmik76

All the IWH I had have a deep hierarchy instinct as they are dogs hunting in pack.

They want to dominate the other dogs. Usually other dogs accept this behaviour,

as they aren't strong enough to resist.

But the Mastiff, when it worths it (a big bone or a good meal) is ready to fight seriously to defend its meal... and is strong enough to do it.

Bloody fights when it happens !

  • they are cute. you need an EM male and IWH female or the other way round and you can "produce" some irish mastiffs. ;-)

  • @lemmik76

Yes they are cute on this vid and you are right for 2 reasons :

    - I wonder what could be the result;

    - Two males are sometimes fighting for real and they aren't so cute

    at this time !
