  • it was very great tv show in 90's...for me Reeve,Routh,Welling n Cain played fantastic Superman..

  • i guess we can only assume its a toupee he wears like the original movie

  • seriously though....Lex Luthor with hair???? AHAHAHAHAHA!

  • @StuartTheGamerNerd He was bald in one episode though.

  • I grew with this Superman. I love this TV serie !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i had a question where is the wb morph from because i remeber batman not superman and man of steel will be pretty good im just happy he is back on the silver screen

  • Hmm, I wonder what you think as an actor playing Superman when your director tells you you have to stare intently at something and later they'll add the effects of heatvision or x-ray vision. Where do you get inspiration for something like that? Pretending to be on the john? HHHGGGNNNN!

I'm just saying, I notice Superman in this series is staring particularly intense when he does his heat ray vision thing. You must feel pretty silly as an actor without the effects added yet...

  • Actually, he was a good superman...hm, never thought of that, to be honest!

  • Dean Cain is my Superman forever.

  • Christoper Reeves, Dean Cain, & Tom Welling are the best supermans ever

  • Dean Cain forever! I have the complete L & C series on dvd. I just rewatch my favorite episodes when I want to relive those magic moments.

  • Christopher Reeves. Forever.

  • Again, Christoper Reeves has been accepted as the modern iconic Superman, but Dean Cain was the most romantic Superman. That's what Dean did best in his portrayal of Superman. Dean & Teri were the best Clark & Lois ever, because they had the best chemistry, passion, & romance of all of the Loises & Clarks. You can flush Brandon Routh, because he flopped as Superman & was unable to carry Superman Returns at the box office. Also Tom Welling played Superboy, not Superman, in Smallville.

  • LOL! Christoper Reeve was a very good Superman, and he was trained formally as an actor at Julliard. Dean Cain had experience as an actor in tv & film prior to playing Superman, b/c his father is a Hollywood producer. Also Dean Cain was the only Superman who was also an accomplished athlete, an All-American star football player. In contrast, Brandon Routh, who flopped as Superman, and Tom Welling were only wussy models prior to playing Superman. They're the worst actors to play the role. lol

  • @MarquisdeSade825 Chris reeves and dean cain might have been better actors, but modern day technology really made superman returns look so much more badass. I can't take the older movies seriously when the effects are that bad. Same thing with the incredible hulk.

  • P. S. The only decent Supermen were Christopher Reeves & Dean Cain. Both of them were better actors than former wussy models, Brandon Routh & Tom Welling. lol Dean Cain was the only accomplished athlete to play Superman. That's fact! Brandon Routh & Superman Returns flopped at the box office. lol How the hell can you say that Brandon Routh was a good Superman when he couldn't even carry the film at the box office? LOL NO SUPERMAN & LOIS HAD BETTER CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THEM THAN DEAN & TERI!

  • I like it.

  • @fyte4luv808 You're full of shit, and you're jealous of Dean Cain. He was ONLY accomplished athlete to play Superman. Other than Christoper Reeves, Brandon Routh flopped as Superman. That's a fact that Superman Returns flopped because Brandon couldn't carry the lead role. Neither Brandon Routh or Tom Welling were actors. They were freakin' models prior to playing Superman. They were posers, wusses! You can take that to the bank, asshole! You're full of shit.

  • @fyte4luv808 You're such a dumbshit! Teri Hatcher isn't shit without Dean Cain, dumbass. You need a hot, romantic leading man like Dean Cain, who can act (unlike Brandon Routh or Tom Welling) to play opposite the female lead, Teri Hatcher, in order for the series to have worked. That's common sense. The series worked, because of the perfect chemistry between Dean Cain & Teri Hatcher, dumbass. There's no denying that. Please, Dean Cain was the ONLY accomplished athlete to play Superman! lol

  • He's so beautiful and sexy a Superman. I wish I could find a man like him. I still dream of him.

  • I remember i have the whole series in my house somewhere but we stopped watching it for like a year and it disappears.

  • never like the fumbling idiot act of kent. that why i enjoy Cain and wellington as Superman

  • actually Dean was a better Superman than Reeve

  • I actually enjoyed the story line between Lois and Clark better than the scenes with Superman.

  • How do you get skin like Dean Cain?

  • @Searchinganswers get a tan?

  • Man, is Dean Cain hot here!!! That's all that matters to me. I never gave a shit about special effects & all that fluff. Dean Cain was soooooo hot as Superman. That's what I tuned in for.

  • What's the episode where he has the black costume?

  • terrible effects

  • @zimmcat Fifteen year old effects. Don't be a dick.

  • The chemistry between Dean Cain & Teri Hatcher as Clark & Lois was incredible. They really were attracted to each other alot even off camera. They were the most romantic Lois & Clark ever.

  • I am watching the Lois and Clark series again right now on Net Flix. Someone revealed Supermans secret identity and Jimmy Olsen said, "Well, Clark does look and sounds like Superman" (not exact qoute) but you get the idea. From...Mindovermuscle2. I am also the original.

  • I or millions of other Lois & Clark fans around the world, never found the series boring. What we were following primarily was the love affair between Teri & Dean and how it would unfold. I never unrealistically expected it to be a top notch action packed thriller. It's the romance b/t Teri & Dean that kept me coming back, much like millions followed the romance between Diane & Sam on Cheers or Cybil Shepherd & Bruce Willis on Moonlighting. Teri & Dean had incredible chemistry together.

  • Congratulations, you made the unrelenting borefest that is Lois and Clark actually look more exciting than it really is.

  • What Dean Cain did better than any other Superman was that he played the most romantic Superman ever. The series was intended from the start to focus more on the romantic relationship between Lois & Clark. That's why it was called "Lois & Clark", not "Superman." Considering this, Dean was the best choice to play Superman. However, Lois should have been played by Brooke Shields, Dean's real life girlfriend while he was at Princeton. lol

  • Dean Cain is the PERFECT Superman! He will always be my childhood hero! XD

  • This is still the perfect Superman, in my eyes. The way he Dean portrayed his mannerisms and the way he holds himself. Plus, I might be in the minority, but I love this costume. It makes Reeve's, Routh's and Cavill's pale by comparison.

  • @Denomar

I love Cavill's, I think it's a different take, a more alien take, and if there is some plot reason for that, like, this was what Jor-El had in mind for him that'd be great.

In all seriousness, I love Dean's suit too, it's unlike any other, and the huge S looks awsome. I just hate the belt. A more grown-up gold belt would have made it the king of all Superman costumes :)

  • Dean Cain's interpretation of Clark Kent is the best:) He just wasn't a good SUPERMAN.

  • Everyone always thinks of Chris Reeve as THE Superman, but I've always thought that's Dean Cain. His Superman was like a more friendly version of Reeve's, and I love the way his Clark defies the stereotype and has an actual personality. His costume was also awsome, and that theme-tune was incredible.

  • Hmm.. never thought this would be this cheesy back then... lol

  • Dean Cain is not Superman. Clark Kent is Superman. Duh

  • This was and always will be my Superman´s favourite series. I liked Smallville but just the firsts seasons. The nexts were horrible.

  • i know dean cain

  • Very cool!!!

    DangerMan

  • was.....

  • RE: Reeve and Cain...Cain's Clark Kent looked too much like Superman. Lois was galactically stupid but so was everyone else. Reeves Kent was the best disguised and acted like a loser compared to his Superman. Huge difference.

  • @mindovermuscle2 I agree. Dean Cain is kind of hot lol but not enough differences between Clark and Superman and mmm.. I have a problem with his voice. Superman's voice is not masculine enough, not "hero like" enough

  • @mindovermuscle2

Can I just ask here, out of curiosity, why you think you think the disquise wasn't good enough? Since I read your comment, I've gone back to the DVDs to check my memory of the show is correct, but I seriously CAN'T see what you mean. The glasses is one thing, but just the hair too, the slicked back Supes hair completly changes the appearence. Clark and Supes look quite different in my opinion - it's the voice that gives it away

    :(

  • épisode a t 33 seconde??

  • Lois and Clark was the hottest show on TV till it started losing out to Touched By An Angel.

Terri Hatcher and Dean Cain MADE the show - the hottest couple on TV

  • "Dean Cain" Never Embodyed Superman Or His Look, Not Only Is He The Shortest To Play The Role, Hes Part Orental Too...Lets Get "Christian Bale" To Play "Bruce Lee"....lol.. I Thought Superman Was 6'4" With Blue Eyes Atleast "Brandon Routh" Wore Contacts', "Dean Cain" Got The Roles Back To Front, A Cool Calm Clark And A Pussy Sounding Voiced Superman.....I'm A Fan Of The Franchise, The Hole "Superman Series"

  • @SuperKendall83 And he did not have that CURLY-Q on his forhead, And SUPERMAN to me has to have that CURLY-Q

  • @clintbronson5 Neither did George Reeves

  • aye caramba mexican superman

  • @Artanalbo better actor than you and hasa bigger dick than you

  • 1:58 the Hall of Justice FTW!

  • Back In The Day This Was Good, But Looking At Them Now' Dean Cain's Superman/Clark Wasn't Good, He Played Both Characters The Same, Clark's Supposed To Be A Bumbling, Mild Mannerd Reporter, Cain Played Him As Cool Calm And Collected. Reeve And Routh Did The Switch Between Characters Well, And As For Welling I Enjoyed Smallville, But The Series Finale...Not Impressed, Bag Of Shit Would Be My Choice Of Words

  • @SuperKendall83 Only the movies portrayed Clark as a "bumbling idiot". In the comics he was never like that. Dean Cain's acting was more true to the comics(original source material) than Reeve's or Routh's. Some argument that the "bumbling idiot" act is more realistic since it adds to his secret identity. However, in the end it all boils down to an alien in blue, red & yellow tights who saves the world. I love Superman, don't get me wrong, but I'm not looking for "realism" when I watch it.

  • @miraixenia Hear, Hear! Not all folks like the bumbling aspect to Clark nor wish to have it continue to appease those who hold the Reeve films on a flippin' pedestal

  • @miraixenia I Get What Your Saying But Its Got To Have Some Plausibility, Or What's The Point In Watching. For Me Chris Reeve's Will All Ways Be The Best Superman. You Said (Quote) Dean Cain's Acting Was More True To The Comics Original Source Material" Where In fact Siegel & Shusters Original Stories (Superman) Was Rough And Aggressive, Who Attacked And Terrorized Wife Beaters And Gangsters With A Loose Moral Code

  • @SuperKendall83 Ok, I'm not talking about Superman, I'm talking about Clark Kent. He was always a mild mannered reporter, who kept a low profile, but was a normal, smart, and cool headed man. Yes, superman in the past was aggressive and rough, but that was when he was superman, not Clark Kent. I'll admit Dean Cain wasn't a great superman, he was adequate at best.

  • @miraixenia Who Do You Rate As The Best Superman

  • @SuperKendall83 To me there hasn't been a good superman. Superman isn't suppose to be a toothpick. I'm not saying he should be Arnold Schwarzenegger circa 1975, but no one has represented the physique or the imposing nature that Superman always held.

  • @miraixenia I don't get why he would look that strong anyway, superman never had to lift anything with his actual muscles in his life, he always cheated by using super powers, maybe if he went back to krypton and lifted weights he would look like that.

  • @luke666808g Lol late, I know. Well it's just a personal preference. I don't think he needs to be a behemoth, but it looks awkward for a skinny guy in tights to lift a train off the tracks or stop a plane. Maybe that's why I didn't like the spiderman movies... >.> Whenever I conjure an image of superman in my mind, he has some muscle. He doesn't need to be Schwarzenegger circa 1970, that'd be ridiculous.

  • @SuperKendall83 Yeah... Smallville's series finale was horrible. You think with all the hype and time invested in the show, they could have come up with something better. -_-

  • @miraixenia Yeah' They Could Hove Shown Us More Of The Suit In All It's Glory, When He Flew Out The Fortress Ma Hart Was Beating Fast, But It Ended With An Anticlimax, Not only That' When He Did The Slow-mo Change At The End, Where The Fuck Was His Cape,lol... It Looked Like He Was Just Wearing A T-Shirt...lol. 10 Years it Took To Bring Superman Into The 21st Century And Take It In A New Direction Just To Take A Major Set Back By Making It Really Cheesy, I Found It to Be Laughable

  • @miraixenia I know...being a big smallville fan my self i'm very dissapointed at how Tom Welling THE tv superman of this decade never even put on the superman returns tights he was given...instead its all cheap CGI shots of his upper half and awful CGI cape that looked nothing like the real thing!

  • @miraixenia i just wish they'd make a spin off that ignore's some of the continuity and actually have other live action superhero's appearances that the show actually GOT RIGHT without the actors that portray them being too busy to star in more then 2 or 3 episodes unlike Smallville itself

  • @miraixenia shut it. Welling was a PERFECT Superman. And Routh's performance was GREAT. Reeve and Cain were also SUPERMEN, but to me, Superman stays Superman.

  • @SUPERBOY6001 Wow....Aren't you a bit rude and I see you didn't actually understand what I wrote. I never said their acting was bad, but that their version of superman wasn't my cup of tea. I really enjoyed Welling's performance in Smallville. However when it came to being superman, which only happened in the last episode, he fell short a bit. I think it's mostly due to how rushed it felt. Also his contract said that he didn't want to wear the suite (notice how it was cgi) or fly that often.

  • @SUPERBOY6001 And I agree. They are all Supermen, just different versions of him. So some people will favor one over the other, but in the end they portray the same man. I guess the problems I have are with how the writers either changed Clark Kent's demeanor or how the image of Superman changed. This argument could go on forever, to each their own.

  • dean caen is my faborite superman

  • you haven't seen Tom Wellings bulge yet when he started wearing that silly Superman costume.

  • I just realized how similar these sets are to Smallville's.

  • Hello, I'm Lex luthor, and I approve this message.

  • smallville is siccck

  • i thought Dean Cain Did a great job as superman. He played the roll very well, i liked smallville also but they copied alot of there ideas from the lois and clark t.v. show, if you watch them you see how they copied alot. They just had better effects.

  • this was the shit son

  • GREAT VIDEO!!!!! this tv series was great, but i always missed a bit more focus in superman and their enemies.

  • Man if the show had Smallville's effects it would have outright destroyed every other TV show ever

  • @Faiz1990 smallville is the best superman inspired series known to man

  • @Faiz1990 In my mind, it still did.

  • @Faiz1990 if i'm honest, i don't really think the fx of this and smallville are that many worlds apart... they're both mediocre, at best.

  • @Faiz1990 yeah but look when L&C came out, CGI wasnt that good

  • @Faiz1990 I agree but i think there would be complications in a way.

  • horrible effects

  • I finished watching this series all the way through, and I adored it.

  • I adore the 90's and this show - my personal favorite Superman adaptation. Dean Cain is definitely the most handsome Clark ever. Teri Hatcher shines here and her haircut was epic. Also Tracy Scoggins's Cat should've been in more seasons. Very nice & entertaining series. I loved many TV shows in the 90's - this one, Acapulco H.E.A.T., The X Files, La Femme Nikita, Melrose Place, Spy Game, RoboCop The Series, L.A.Heat, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, The Pretender, Babylon 5, SeaQuest, MK Conquest, Amazon, Lexx

  • As a kid the show was EPIC. As an adult the show gets a big fat FAIL.

  • superb trailor

  • Roger Daltrey at 0:53.

  • Dean Cain- One of the worst actors of all time!!

  • @TheDeathstarXXX couldn't agree more

  • dean cain you should be superman 2011 and or 2012

  • @Ruddteen Dean cains more like Lazy boy now lol

  • "the standup guys are the EASIEST to deal with. you can hang someone with their morals - just that like that."

Not if they're intelligent enough to think like the bad guy. ;)

  • @TheArthen did you post that on everything, luthor?

  • @lorenzotheman

    what are u stupid?

  • Gotta say.........he DID make a good Superman !.

  • ohmygod memories of my childhood! :')

  • not a great show but damn was dean cain a good superman, right up there with chris reeve, kicks the sh!t out of fruity brandon mouth

  • Smallville is better

  • @lui9021 Smallville is better, however, this is also good

  • Pretty cool video, loved it

  • so 90's, so awesome :D

  • what's the name of the song? anyone knows?

  • to many... to many words guys

  • Dean Cain, best Superman!

  • brandouth routh or tom weiling should play man of steel,

  • i liked dean as superman in the series ..dont think he could ever do a film as it thou..besides i only watched this purely cause when i was 9 i had a crush on teri lol she was so hot

  • @Born2BLoud .... So did I....

  • Very attractive, yes. Just not a great Superman...

  • Dean Cain is [the worst] Superman [ever]

    LOL

  • @MissRedfield That's Routh easy imo. Dean Cain is the best to me. Agree to disagree. DCAU Superman is second while Christopher Reeve is 3rd. The rest of the Superman actors weren't good enough. Tom Welling is Clark Kent and not Superman as of now. And even then he'll wear the suit in the end for at most 45 mins but never have a show about being Superman so he can't count. But as much as I love him as Clark he will suck as Superman.

  • @xOmniCloudx Reeve was the best. He was Superman, not just someone in the costume.

  • @Toasty667 Reeve was average. He didn't do much acting and was more or less emotionless as Superman. The only time he had real dialogue as Superman was when he was talking to Lois and Lana. Every other instance it was just a line or two and the villains and score made up for his lack of dialogue. He played a much better Clark Kent than he did Superman as his Clark was spot on with old school Clark. Cain's Clark Kent and Superman were far better developed. Possibly because he was more modern.

  • @xOmniCloudx That's kind of an unfair statement; by what standard was Reeves "average"? He showcased a range of depth in emotions, especially in Superman 2. As Clark Kent, he was lovsble, good-hearted, nerdy & a bit of a caricature---but considering the presence he brought [admittedly, with few words] to Superman, that's what the "Clark" role CALLED for. Cain's role had more SCREEN TIME, and appealed to a different audience. I give full explanation to this to amsds9147 below here. Your thoughts?

  • Comment removed

  • @Toasty667 Routh was just someone in a costume who got the role only due to his resemblance to Reeve. You can tell how much he tried to be Reeve but he failed being far more emotionless than even Reeve was and how obvious the modern day world made Reeve's style of acting as Superman look as weak as it was (which was hidden in Reeve's day). Standards have risen since Reeve's day. He at his prime wouldn't get away with such a performance in today's world and he'd be slammed as hard as Routh is.

  • @xOmniCloudx: LOL, don't tell me "agree to disagree" without giving a reason as to both why you think Cain is the best and why Routh is the worst (which he's not). Based on some of your replies to others, I can tell you'll say anything just to try and start an argument, so let me make it easy for you. Dean Cain is both a terrible actor and a terrible Superman. Lois & Clark was a laughable show at best and Cain only looked the part. You're in the minority on this one with the other 110 Cain fans.

  • @MissRedfield I think that's a bit unfair, Lady. Cain isn't a "Terrible" actor----not the best by any stretch, but far from terrible. I don't agree with his INTERPRETATION of Clark here, but [1] this show is heavily based on John Burn's Post-Crisis Superman stylings [2] this series was DELIBERATELY DESIGNED as a Romantic comedy, focusing more on the relationship of Clark/Lois than on "Superman". I went through a full explanation of this with amsds9147 right below. Check it out, note me back ;-)

  • @Shenruss I think it's about as unfair as saying Tom Welling is a terrible actor. People rag on his acting all the time, but anyone who's actually paying attention can see that his acting abilities have improved greatly over the past 10 years with each passing season. Dean Cain, on the other hand, is the same actor today that he was 15 years ago... That's not going to change anytime soon. Say what you will, but in my opinion, "terrible" means: The guy ain't gettin' any better at his "craft."

  • @Shenruss For the record, I'm not basing my opinion solely on the fact that Cain's portrayal was different. I'm aware of how he was meant and did portray Clark Kent. I just didn't like the way in which he did so. There's a scene that is mocked on here where Dean has to yell "Nooo!" - It is very reminiscent of the Vader scene from SW Episode III. Both were overly cheesy and completely unnecessary. It wasn't HOW the characters were portrayed, it was the WAY in which the actors portrayed them.

  • @MissRedfield I don't think Cain has the same emotional depth or presence as say, Reeve [who, lets remember was classically trained], but the overall show DID lend itself towards camp at times; that would inform his performance. Agreed: Tom Welling's chops have GREATLY increased in time, but he was given richer MATERIAL, too. Cain was ON Smallville [as Dr. Knoxx] and did a fair job balancing insane/tragic. Even in L&C, he occasionally did shine when relating genuine human fear, loss or anger.

  • @Shenruss Well, you definitely make some good points. I just got done re-watching the Pilot episode of L&C for the first time in YEARS, and it's actually not that bad. However, despite it's time, there were some REALLY corny lines/scenes. Logic says you could argue that it is a bit dated but there were also other shows at that time that did not need to rely on campiness to be successful (again, I have to use The X-Files as an example as it came out the same year, in '93, and was both entertainin

  • @MissRedfield LOL; well, you got me there with XF. But again, THAT show had an overall more serious tone throughout. And yea, L&C, even in its TITLE, was too prone to puns & fun. Smallville relies more on drama, depth & agnst for stories, but has a bigger budget, wider fictional universe [FEW other superbeings in L&C, let alone heroes/crossovers] and can sometimes overwhelm in spectacle, doing almost soap opera-style cliffhangers. I do think its more appealing to our humanity and TIME now, tho.

  • @MissRedfield One thing Cain did very well as both Clark and Superman was portraying his character as the symbol of hope and optimism that Superman is supposed to represent. Anywhere in Metropolis, you could shout "Help! Superman!" and he would come right away (regardless of consequences in his personal life). You could COUNT on him, and there was something special about that. Even Mr Mxyzptlk understood this in a very real way, and attacked that sense of hope when he appeared.

  • Comment removed

  • @Shenruss There are plenty of actors who can pull off a classic "No!" scene. Gillian Anderson in The X-Files is a good example of this. She had to do the same thing in the epi "This is Not Happening." And it was because of her great acting that she was able to eliminate the cheesiness from that scene almost altogether. That and the scene from SW III are more relevant and therefore make for good comparisons. Episode III came after The X-Files but still suffered from bad acting, as did this show.

  • Excellent!

  • i loved the super speed effects i want that in the new superman movie, fortunately superman returns didn't have that. i like the experience of witnessing superman as invincible, he's so fast, that--vroom!

  • This series were awesome...best superman series in my opinion...

  • please help me to find episodes

  • song called /// immediate music - liberty shield

  • Oh my gosh, the S on his chest is ridiculously big. What ere they thinking???

Superan Returns got it right with the whole costume and a smaller S. It takes up his entire torso ffs!

Cain was a fantastic Clark Kent, but a pants Superman comared to the rest lol.

    Sigh I missthis show :)

  • @Superbruv07 I have to disagree with you. The S was too small on Superman Returns costume. The shirt choked his neck with made him look like superboy. The S was missing from the cape. The costume was too dark. The S was freaking Carbon Fiber. They used the same material as on the Spiderman Costume which is starting to get old. Christopher's was the best costume.

  • @HomeGymFitness Small?? It was the prefect size, rather than it take up so much of his chest that it folds into his underarms!

I'm glad it's missing from the cape, that was always a bit cheesy. Say what you want about the actor/movie but the costume was the best made so far. The material looked Kryptonian and not just plastic.

They are using the costume in Smallville now which I'm not sold on. Welling is no Superman. We'lll see how he looks in it. I fear it will just look comical.

  • @Superbruv07 The material looked plastic. Especially the cape. Lets look at the cover of the death of superman shall we. It's his cape with the yellow S shredded and flapping like a flag. Brandon's cape couldn't have been used for the cover because it wouldn't have screamed superman. If you are a superman fan then you will know the feeling your got when you saw the ripped cape of superman with the yellow S. Nothing cheesy about that.

  • @HomeGymFitness @HomeGymFitness I am a Superman fan - so much so that if they used Routh's cape as that cover, I would recognise tghe image. Just like at the end of Seaon 7's Action of Smallvile, with Clark handed the cape - with no S. It's not necessary and cheesy.

  • @Superbruv07 I stopped watching smallville. No reason why. Just kind of forgot about it. I will still buy the seasons later in life. Probably when they are finished with the series. You can't use smallville as a reference point because in the episode where the kid touches your and can see your death. When he touched Clark you could see the cape flapping and you can tell it had the yellow S on it.

  • @Superbruv07 Go to my favorite videos and you can see what I am talking about the yellow S being on his cape in smallville

  • @Superbruv07 I'm not saying the S should have gone into his arm pits either. Dean Cain's S was a little too big. Christopher Reeve's was the absolute best size. Brandon's was raised off his chest like it was some kind of shield. Superman doesn't need a shield. If you look closely at it, it is carbon fiber. Nothing screams Kryptonian like carbon fiber lol.

  • @HomeGymFitness Reeve's was too big as well. You can't have it that big withot looking dated - which is exactly how Reeve's movie is now. One of the best movies ever made, but still a bit dated. And the coours are far too bright.

Nolan made Batman's suit completely black and darker for the contemporary audience, why moan at Singer for doing it?

  • @Superbruv07 Christopher's movie can't be considered dated because of the simple fact that all superhero movies since then are held to it's standards. It is the standard of all superhero movies. The darkening of the colors really isn't that bad though. Singer even said that he dressed everyone in earth tones so it would make him "appear" to be lighter in color. Why go through the trouble. Just make him the color he is supposed to be. Singer got a few things right, but the costume wasn't it.

  • @HomeGymFitness I get what you're saying about the S and touche, but in my opinion, ditching the cape S was a great choice.

Those movies are dated. Although they raised the bar and are fantastic, they are really dated.

    Yes the suit was awesome.

  • @HomeGymFitness The standards for superhero movies has LONG since surpassed since Superman was released. As of now EVERYONE in the professional world is using the Dark Knight as the standard (trying to be like Nolan) and before then it was Batman Begins and before then it was Spider-Man, etc. The standard mostly changes as time goes on. Superman is only a measuring stick for Superman movies now since none better in terms of critical acclaim and financial success have come after it as of now.

  • @xOmniCloudx You know I would have taken some of what you said seriously if I didn't read a comment you made earlier where you said Reeve was average. That statement alone just made everything you say from this point on about Superman wrong. ALL superhero movies are held to superman's standards. Thanks for playing lol.

  • @HomeGymFitness Thanks for getting all whiled up over an opinion lmao. You lose all credibility by default. Not that a random nobody ever had any (outside their delusional world). I watched the first four movies before Lois and Clark and always felt Reeve was weaker than everybody would like to admit. Not bad but simply average and it was well hidden unless you looked. Nobody is wrong or right here. It's all what appeals to us. Thanks for being the fool for today and my personal entertainment xD

  • Comment removed

  • @xOmniCloudx Riled Up? I'm sorry. Did I curse you in any way? No. Did I use any derogatory grammar or announce I was in any way your superior? No. I simply said since you said Reeve was average, you no longer are not worth me listening to. Thanks for playing again. Don't bother wasting your typing hands with a reply. You have nothing I want to hear. Next time you try to make yourself sound smart, make sure you proof read your work. How did I get "Whiled"? I'm ready to be judged now genius.

  • @HomeGymFitness: lol, don't cha just love when people try to state their opinions as fact and act like their opinions are the only ones that matter? You had nothing to prove to OmniCloud, don't worry.

  • Awesome video!

They were all great Supermen but Dean Cain was definitely the best Clark Kent of all time.

  • @amsds9147 While I'll not suggest that you're on some hallucenagenic drug----you are entitled to your opinion, afterall---- I VEHEMENTLY dissagree with you, Dude. Let's take account here; Kirk Alyn, George Reeves, Christopher Reeve, even James H. Newton & Gerard Christopher, Tom Welling & Brandon Routh; MOST of them brought something new to 'classic' Clark Kent, George being the possible exception. Dean's Clark was made the romantic hero, with the 'Superman' stories being almost sidenotes....

  • @amsds9147 (Cont'd). The dichotomy of 'Clark'/'Superman' is less played out in Deans CK, more akin to the John Byrne version of Superman post 1986. where as before, Clark Kent was the 'disguise' for Superman, HERE CK is the MAIN protagonist; he just happens to fly. George was much the same way; he protrayed Clark as confident, capable & playful, if somewhat reserved. He got away with it [1] because the 50's were a simpler, more 'man's world' era (2) Superman was a '"Bigger than life Star" then

  • @amsds9147 Chris Reeve's CK is the "classic" interpreation most of the others BUILT on; the TRUE face of Superman with exaggerated "lovable nerd" traits, allowing him to steep himself in his humanity AND throw off any possible suspicions. He did it sweetly, honestly & with humour; it makes more sense than Byrne's, "Educated-Ex-Jock-Farmboy-with GQ good looks". 1]Dean's CK & Supes are TOO similar here [2] his Clark seems to have NO flaws.

But then, this show was about 'romance', not 'action'

  • @amsds9147 While Dean did a good job for the material, to say he was the "Best" C.Kent, you'd have to give specific parameters & say what version of the Superman mythos we're examining. THIS show was more romantic comedy than anything else: Cain DID do a good job of making Clark the Romantic lead. Howver, I think Wellings current version of Clark---the innocent, unsure farmboy-turned-Big-city-hero-shouldering HUGE responsibility-- is a fresher, more human interpretation of "Clark". Any thoughts?

  • @Shenruss That is indeed an interesting point of view and I guess if you look at it that way you do have a point. Welling is doing a great job as Clark Kent too. I guess, as you already mentioned,it's hard comparing the two series since L&C is indeed more of a romantic comedy. Dean probably couldn't have played the Clark-version in "Smallville" so well and vice versa. I'm probably preferring Dean simply because I've grown up with L&C, but I don't doubt that Tom is doing a great job in Smallville

  • @amsds9147 Fair enough. Never meant to say you were 'dissin' any of the actors interpreation, though. At heart, i guess I associate the "slightly neardy nice guy Clark" with the more faithful versions of Superman---and also because Chris Reeve, my PERSONAL favorite superman of all time, just did it so nobley and so well. Cain did do an awesome "Cool Guy" CK, but I kinda like the whole "Misunderstood hero only a few get to REALLY know" stick. chris and Tom pull this off in different ways

  • @Shenruss Don't worry, I didn't take it that way. As for Chris Reeve, he was in my opinion the best Superman of all and the first one that comes to my mind when you say "Superman". His Clark was a totally different turn than Dean's but in a funny way. I do like his interpretation too. I think it's great to get to see so many different versions. I always found the Clark-side of the character pretty fascinating because Superman and his powers basically always stay the same but the Clarks change :)

  • @amsds9147 THAT, my friend, is the DRAW of the character; Whereas Superman is "larger than life", Clark Kent is as much an icon because he humanizes the character. He evolved from 'quiet, nerdy milksop' to 'mild-mannered gentleman' to 'comic foil of superman' to 'GQ version' to 'True face of Superman very few know'. Thing is, it's CLARK'S morals & values that inform the Superman character, putting the MAN in Super. And he's evolved over time to fairly represent all the generations he's been in

  • @amsds9147 naahh actually he is was of the worst superman

  • @amsds9147 superman too

  • first time i see teri hatcher, was in this show! haha.

  • Probably the biggest complaint I had with this series is that Krypton was RED AND BLUE instead of GREEN. What the heck??!!

  • Awesome!

  • I am sorry, I don´t want to insult anyone, but this show makes me laugh.

  • Dean Cain was such a great Superman and really doesn't the respect he deserves as such. Sure, some of the storylines on Lois and Clark were cheesy and, at their worst, terrible (frog eating clones?) but Dean always did a terrific job as Superman.

  • i wish we had more of dean cain as supereman....for me, he and the original superman-christopher reeve- were the two only ones. two only good ones. and i stillain't over c.r.'s death.rip

  • I know Lex Luthor is supposed to be bald but John Shea looked rea
