yes, mariah could sing those high notes, but those were at the peak of her voice... unlike regine who, even at her very age, could still SING those notes popularized by other diva in LIVE performances, unlike mariah(who by the way do lip sync on most of her high notes until today).

I once was directed by one of ms. reg's musical director and she told us that "tili lang yung high note ni ate regine niyo, but what differentiates her from others is how she executes it and she really does it well" ang totoo nyan lahat ng singers natin magagaling they just have different styles based on the genre.

But maybe, just maybe, some WANNABE-singer can hit them using ARTIFICIALLY high pitched voice called "falsetto", or a DETERIORATING diva can hit them using EAR-PIERCING "head voice" or even DOG "whistle" but definitely NOT CHEST VOCALS like Regine does so masterfully. And Regine can undoubtedly hit them with her MIGHTY CHEST VOICE because she pulsates those ethereal notes at her UPPER RANGE with amazing VIBRATO. :)

I noticed that whenever Charice, Sheryn, and Angeline Quinto sing Regine's version or sings a song that Regine popularized, they can't do the techniques/styles that Regine added. They tend to change it to more basic. That's why only Regine can sing high notes with perfect control to every note. Listen to Hanggang Ngayon, I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing, Go To Distance, N S Goodbye etc.. Then remember the style/signature she did there. And see if their attempts gave it a perfect try. I doubt it

This is just my opinion base on facts. I once was directed by one of ms. reg's musical director and she told us that "tili lang yung high note ni ate regine niyo, but what differentiates her from others is how she executes it and she really does it well" ang totoo nyan lahat ng singers natin magagaling they just have different styles based on the genre.

When you're a great singer, the #1 thing you want is to be known in the world. But if you're kind and God fearing, it's your image and true identity you would choose first. Regine attempted to conquer America in her early 20's (she even have photos taken when she was in the States to pursue her singing career). She didn't want to go with omg you're my idol!! huhuhu :( can i sing with you?!? poor drama. She knew she's the best. There were record labels that were interested in packaging her. Even in Asia. But she felt it wasn't worth changing her true identity. And she said, besides she's known already in the PH and she didn't want to stain her image.

Yes, it's easy to CLAIM one can hit Regine's EXTREMELY HIGH NOTES. But maybe, just maybe, some WANNABE-singer can hit them using ARTIFICIALLY high pitched voice called "falsetto", or a DETERIORATING diva can hit them using EAR-PIERCING "head voice" or even DOG "whistle" but definitely NOT CHEST VOCALS like Regine does so masterfully. And Regine can undoubtedly hit them with her MIGHTY CHEST VOICE because she pulsates those ethereal notes at her UPPER RANGE with amazing VIBRATO. :)

I noticed that whenever Charice, Sheryn, and Angeline Quinto sing Regine's version or sings a song that Regine popularized, they can't do the techniques/styles that Regine added. They tend to change it to more basic. That's why only Regine can sing high notes with perfect control to every note. Listen to Hanggang Ngayon, I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing, Go To Distance, N S Goodbye etc.. Then remember the style/signature she did there. And see if their attempts gave it a perfect try. I doubt it
