charging the hammer to cancel wind is better than repeatedly tapping the triangle button imo. not to mention it's easier to hit with super pound compared to triple. still, thumbs up for the nice guide.

Try nekhots 8* yian garuga, now HE is a move spammer. Peck you into a corner till you die. To make it worse he has some speed to him leaving him fewer openings.
You can do the same with Khezu in the circular cave in the mountains. I only used it one, because I was challenged to fight him with no armor and the weakest bow. Took forever, but I killed him.
i used a bowgun on the khezu cuz when i use my baraboi blade its slow so i used a bowgun once this is in monster hunter freedom unite i use longswords like at the moment im on lvl 4 pokke quests and i use dark scythe im upgradin my bone katana shark

And btw isnt that the low rank Garuga? Coz high rank is a lot harder than the low ranked one. (has a few extra moves)

@MHNoodles Oh and by the way, Hammer is the easiest weapon to use, has the most potential, greatest kills times, KO value, and good mobility while you charge. Bows have survival, and good mobility, and slow kill times with Heroics or Adrenaline. Bowguns aren't for scrubs either kid.
Never mind I killed him took a long while but I got the job done I had Eager Cleaver and used the hit and run tactics since his hip checks are pretty deadly this early on and I only attacked his head.
@TheArcanaEnds funny, when I fought him I just chopped for the tail then slashed legs till he fell... after that I slashed and tore whatever I could sink my blade into lol

@halo3masterofall Lmao, reason you only have a Lacerator, and you prolly have Naruga HIGH RANK gear instead of G rank, is because you're a dumbass. It's EASIER to be closer to a monster than far away if you can dodge. Just like Tiggy or Grav with his sweep beam, it's way easier to be close, because you can dodge the tail sweep, which sometimes goes over your head when your under him, and beat away. So shut your mouth scrub, I dare you to make a vid of you solo'ing Tiggy with a HBG.
@AshosProductions i fight grav with light bow gun and many times kut ku with heavy bow guns suckish ones at that. it is far easier to use melee weps cuz you are generaly out of the way of fire balls and grav beams.
@MAZNoria My point exactly. HBG's aren't generally easier to use, neither are bows. There are monsters easier to melee, and monsters easier to gun, but I think range takes more expertise.
oh yeah and to top it off most quests you have to fight him at night and in the middle of a bush so seeing him before he shoots a big fire ball at you and kills you is kinda hard
Yain garuga is alot like a rathian and Kut-ku in one only shows up in one quest befor high rank stuff and you really don't fight then a whole lot so you hit high rank and it is near impossible to kill with normal weapons and armor you really have to be at peak of game to kill him cuz he lasts longer then most elder dragons in the 4,5 and 6 star quests and hits twice as hard.
Help! the Yian Garuga escapes to area 3 and 4 when I'm using the wussy way 3 is good enough since there is an elevated part that goes to area 8 but 4! by the way, i'm using wyvern's fire
I really need help on fighting a HR5 level Rathalos. I'm using Full Tigrex NORMAL and I normally use Strategic Blade or Onslaught Hammer. but none of these work with the skills. I've seen lots of fcking youtube viddeos on how to defeat him, but their all multi player which sucks.
@Lord0987 Guides are meant to help noobs do things they cant do. They cant get sentororyu wolf when trying to kill him their first time. So its useless. I suggest noobs use SnS. then get what ever weapon that can kill it.
Yian Garuga has the same moveset as Rathalos and Rathian so the chances to attack are easy to spot and you can sometimes force him to use ceartain moves by staying at a ceartain distance. I think he is fairly easy to deal with if you choose your moments and attacks properly.
its eazy... its mhf2. coz in mhfu when u use impact damage on a monster's head you will see some yellow squirt come out (idk what its called but its yellow).
Soooo, what armor is that? Lol, kinda looks like my Rathalos Tasset, but then again I'm only HR2 for the moment, till I kill Plesioth, but whatever it is it looks cool, the hammer does too.

dude... in mhf yian garuga is alot stronger than silver rathalos and gold rathian in one arena. but of course, they nerfed garuga and made sooooo weak that my cat can kill it.
yea its like an elder dragon in mhf. they give u 20 mins and if u cut the tail, beak and ears + uber damage--it will flee on the 20 min mark. but if u kill it, then good for u. im hr 5 in mhf and i cant kill it with my strongest water great sword. but i can with frost edge+ (it was water att. back then). anyways its HARD. and im only talking about the normal one.
^^ i always hunt this thing ... for pokke points. at the training school. i prefer hunting this guy that those annoying kut-kus that runs around.. i even can beg this garuga to just shoot fireballs.. lol. it's easier that way. (use a black belt hammer ^_~)
Their attack moves are different; Gunlance has a few slashing moves and different methods of poking than the Lance. Overall I'd say the Lance can combo its three pokes faster, while the GL has more combos to work with, plus shelling. Only the Lance gets the (long) jousting-attack though

Maybe try to break his wings or try to capture him. If that doenst work then it means his rank is not high enough and so you will have to beat him in an higher ranked quest...
i more thing...i got all the ceanture armor but the gantlets. i cut off both claws and still have goten the ceanture pitcher what am i doing wroung? i did itt like 3 times in the guild. the supreem ruler of the swamp. and whats the weapon path for the ceanture dagger?

id be beating him with my hammer pretty badly but then it gets to a point where he keeps running and i mean like he will wait in an area but then ill get there and he will take off almost immediatley. is it a glitch or something because its pissing me off.
the basic attack, the one without elements....and ditch the death sythe it sucks...get a bone or Iron katana gospel it's better then that cuz it has better affinity and also try getting eager cleaver
(so the death sythe has 624 RAW that's it's attack written on the left side above the sharpness)

Its like this: raw is basic attack, (strength so yeah)
and: Iron katana gospel-eager cleaver(good thunder weapon, go for it not saber it's far easier to get)-devil slicer-true devil slicer (1 heck of a good weapon and very easy to get)-wailing cleaver-true wailing cleaver (1100+atk with 600 thunder I thnk lol) and affinity is the chance that u will deal a critical hit that does more damage then a normal hit..with -5 affinity or lower it means u can deal less damage...:)
lightcrystal-mine in the swamp or kill a gypceros, there is a chance u will get it in rewads, and machalite ore, well u can mine it in the snowy mountains, but anywhere realy, u can get machalite ore anywhere.... Any other questions???

Never mind I killed him took a long while but I got the job done I had Eager Cleaver and used the hit and run tactics since his hip checks are pretty deadly this early on and I only attacked his head.

@TheArcanaEnds funny, when I fought him I just chopped for the tail then slashed legs till he fell... after that I slashed and tore whatever I could sink my blade into lol

@AysukaHaruka Actually I like bows and bowguns because I'm the support character on my team. Also the only one in my MHFU team who can kill a boss with it in 10 mins or less + not get hit once. Am I a pussy?

@halo3masterofall Lmao, reason you only have a Lacerator, and you prolly have Naruga HIGH RANK gear instead of G rank, is because you're a dumbass. It's EASIER to be closer to a monster than far away if you can dodge. Just like Tiggy or Grav with his sweep beam, it's way easier to be close, because you can dodge the tail sweep, which sometimes goes over your head when your under him, and beat away. So shut your mouth scrub, I dare you to make a vid of you solo'ing Tiggy with a HBG.

@AshosProductions i fight grav with light bow gun and many times kut ku with heavy bow guns suckish ones at that. it is far easier to use melee weps cuz you are generaly out of the way of fire balls and grav beams.

@MAZNoria My point exactly. HBG's aren't generally easier to use, neither are bows. There are monsters easier to melee, and monsters easier to gun, but I think range takes more expertise.

oh yeah and to top it off most quests you have to fight him at night and in the middle of a bush so seeing him before he shoots a big fire ball at you and kills you is kinda hard

Yain garuga is alot like a rathian and Kut-ku in one only shows up in one quest befor high rank stuff and you really don't fight then a whole lot so you hit high rank and it is near impossible to kill with normal weapons and armor you really have to be at peak of game to kill him cuz he lasts longer then most elder dragons in the 4,5 and 6 star quests and hits twice as hard.

Help! the Yian Garuga escapes to area 3 and 4 when I'm using the wussy way 3 is good enough since there is an elevated part that goes to area 8 but 4! by the way, i'm using wyvern's fire

I really need help on fighting a HR5 level Rathalos. I'm using Full Tigrex NORMAL and I normally use Strategic Blade or Onslaught Hammer. but none of these work with the skills. I've seen lots of fcking youtube viddeos on how to defeat him, but their all multi player which sucks.

@Lord0987 Guides are meant to help noobs do things they cant do. They cant get sentororyu wolf when trying to kill him their first time. So its useless. I suggest noobs use SnS. then get what ever weapon that can kill it.

easiest way to kill it is use a bow gun and stay in area ther in front of area that leads to 8 sadly this dosnt work on mhfu only on mhf2 :(

Yian Garuga has the same moveset as Rathalos and Rathian so the chances to attack are easy to spot and you can sometimes force him to use ceartain moves by staying at a ceartain distance. I think he is fairly easy to deal with if you choose your moments and attacks properly.

its eazy... its mhf2. coz in mhfu when u use impact damage on a monster's head you will see some yellow squirt come out (idk what its called but its yellow).

dude... in mhf yian garuga is alot stronger than silver rathalos and gold rathian in one arena. but of course, they nerfed garuga and made sooooo weak that my cat can kill it.

yea its like an elder dragon in mhf. they give u 20 mins and if u cut the tail, beak and ears + uber damage--it will flee on the 20 min mark. but if u kill it, then good for u. im hr 5 in mhf and i cant kill it with my strongest water great sword. but i can with frost edge+ (it was water att. back then). anyways its HARD. and im only talking about the normal one.

I'm having trouble farming Yian Garuga. When he's in rage mode I can't even hit his head, because he'll dash at me before I can move out of the way.

^^ i always hunt this thing ... for pokke points. at the training school. i prefer hunting this guy that those annoying kut-kus that runs around.. i even can beg this garuga to just shoot fireballs.. lol. it's easier that way. (use a black belt hammer ^_~)

Their attack moves are different; Gunlance has a few slashing moves and different methods of poking than the Lance. Overall I'd say the Lance can combo its three pokes faster, while the GL has more combos to work with, plus shelling. Only the Lance gets the (long) jousting-attack though

i'm an absolute noob in mhf but i want to get better.
i'm stuck with the yian garuga and matched only 1 time to kill him with dual sword.
i want the garuga armor set so i tried your tip with the gunlance, it works perfect i killed him many times, but for the set i need garuga wings and ive never got one. can anybody give me a tip?

Maybe try to break his wings or try to capture him. If that doenst work then it means his rank is not high enough and so you will have to beat him in an higher ranked quest...

the basic attack, the one without elements....and ditch the death sythe it sucks...get a bone or Iron katana gospel it's better then that cuz it has better affinity and also try getting eager cleaver
(so the death sythe has 624 RAW that's it's attack written on the left side above the sharpness)

hmm..well:
Its like this: raw is basic attack, (strength so yeah)
and: Iron katana gospel-eager cleaver(good thunder weapon, go for it not saber it's far easier to get)-devil slicer-true devil slicer (1 heck of a good weapon and very easy to get)-wailing cleaver-true wailing cleaver (1100+atk with 600 thunder I thnk lol) and affinity is the chance that u will deal a critical hit that does more damage then a normal hit..with -5 affinity or lower it means u can deal less damage...:)

lightcrystal-mine in the swamp or kill a gypceros, there is a chance u will get it in rewads, and machalite ore, well u can mine it in the snowy mountains, but anywhere realy, u can get machalite ore anywhere.... Any other questions???
