I might just be misunderstanding your description in the video, but I'm wondering if it is possible to use the four cable method on two amps and a/b between the two amps. Basically using one amp for clean with the fx in the g system and the other amp for overdrive and the fx in the g system. Can I use the g system to a/b between the two amps while using the four cable method on both amps?
@Tubbyyy001 it is possible to do something similar. it will of course require a few more cables...in a nutshell you can use loop 4 to insert another preamp and you set up the g-system to switch between loop4 and insert loop. you will still only be using one amp's return so the power section and speaker of only one amp will be used, but the preamp of both will be switchable. here is a post between laird williams and i about the subject. go here:
@danilo26972 actually there is a noise gate. i get absolutely no noise whatsoever. the key is to use BALANCED cables for you set up. i didnt mention this before and i apologise. i am creating an new updated video about this. it should be posted next week or so. let me know if that helps.
@matthewearl I hate Noise Gate and i think everybody should (if u care your tone...)
I use TRS balanced cables (premium quality ones). obviusly the noise is annoying with high gain channel! i would like to have the possibility to record one example... it's quite impossible to play at loud volume with such noise. absolutly no noise avoiding using 1st stage. could u please tell me your volumes settings? i mean input gain, loop volume, loop headroom... etc
@MOLYKU an m13 config with g system will be complicated because of the stereo post effects on both units. its hard to run them both in parallel. i am trying to figure out the best way to do this.
... but a drive (I use a few) in loop1 would be before the amp's input? what if I needed to put an external effect in loop 2 - would it also be pre? ie: can you assign the placement of the loops, pre vs FX loop?
@guitfrank yes a drive in loop 1 -4 will always be "pre" amp input. (as far as the 4 cable method is concerned). no you cannot change the loops to go "post" if you have a pedal that you want to run after the pre-amped signal (which is the same as the internal delays and reverbs of g-system) you would put them after the OUTPUT of the g-system BEFORE they go into the RETURN of your amp. hop that helps.
@orpheus06 your distortion will be an INSERT effect not a parallel effect so no, you cannot use a pedal to change the distortion volume on a stomp box. you cant change the distortion level on any distortion stomp box i know of. maybe im not getting your question.
great video instruction on the G. I bought mine a few weeks ago and I am incorporating it into a live rig that I am setting up. Although I am not using stereo. I am connecting mine to a Mesa Triple Recto using 4 cable method as shown. Nicely done. I use the TC forums for a lot of my questions and the guys on there are very helpful as well....which I am guessing you have as well. :)
This is the only vid on this planet, that you can find out how to connect the G-System to a guitar amp properly. Not even the official TC Electronics website shows you this and the manual is not very totally helpfull either. I did figure it out before i saw this today, but anyway, there it is. The only other thing, is to set the loop to lock in the global settings.
man o man. i was to have a second video for this. i apologize for not having it up yet. i have been working on a new film...i will for sure this week work on part 2. thanks for watching everyone.
dude, I'm waiting for the second part, concentrate on conections, specialy, if you can show some pictures of rack unit ant the floor unit, allso, changing the chanels on the amp with the g system, how do you do it?
WOW, did you read that off the manuel? that was really informative, you should do instructional videos for t.c. electronics. i dont have a gsystem but now i know how to use it properly lol
Is it possible to use just the delays and reverbs in the amp loop, and the rest of the effects in front of the amp?

@davem04ify I've been trying to get that answer as well, so far it looks like a no-go.

I think u should say there's no way to get no noise from 4 cables method.
or maybe the only one...
sell the unit!
very disappointed with noisy 1st stage....
no cables, levels, hum eliminator solutions....
the noise is always present.
from such an expansive piece of gear...
no way!
