  • Derrick Rose!!

  • Who is the idiot that disliked this??

  • That theme music used to get me so pumped up to watch the bulls game when I was a kid! It was something special to live in Chicago during those years

  • Derrick rose will never be Michael Jordan as good as he is

  • and now DERRICK ROSE says "it's personal."

  • Bring back the NBA on NBC! ABC sucks!

  • sounds familar huh?

  • :40 to :42 sends a shiver of nostalgia down my spine every time.

  • Thumbs up. if u got chills when he said "Michael Says: its personal !"

  • Also, love how they were using the Lost World: Jurassic Park theme lol

  • NBA on NBC and NBA on TNT>>>NBA on ABC

  • This song made you know the Bulls were about to get down to business....

Man I miss the 90s in Chicago

  • I love this music. Who is the artist and the title, if anyone knows?

  • @boicsunla05 /watch?v=V_h7Lm7C9Nk

  • Damn we need the NBA back on NBC. Can we start a petition on Facebook. Social Media is so powerful these days. These intros brings back memories of how great the NBA was back then, even though I didn't want Chicago to win at the time.

  • been to chicago absolutely beautiful city

  • This game hurt me...im a heat fan lol

  • @charismatic9904 Why? You have a championship and possibly more to come.

  • @icemanjayketchum B/c it hurt our best chance (before 06) to win one. Plus the bulls are rivals. So of course it hurts...same way 98-00 hurts with the losses to the knicks.

  • @charismatic9904 I understand. My team won it all 12 years before my

birth and they played at what us fans call the glass house. We could

have had a dynasty if wasnt for the f***ing Soviets (in the early 90's)

When they won it all, they beat a VERY good that should have swept

them (if you ask their fans at least) A member of that championship

team died about a year ago. Name this team.

  • @icemanjayketchum well what year were you born lol. Saying 12 in a row im thinking boston.

  • @charismatic9904 My apoligies I'm only 22. Heres a BIG giveaway. The Center

postion has been cursed ever since we won our only championship. I was saying

I was born 12 years before they won the title.

  • @icemanjayketchum so around 77 or 78. Oh the blazers. Nice call on not taking jordan

  • @charismatic9904 Born in 89, correct. Yeah Oden is a lot more healthy

than he was at Ohio State or in HS. Like right now he is. Yeah but we needed

a center and already had a good guard with Clyde the Glide. Bowie was TNT

in his rookie year and then it happened. How many 7'0" 280 LBS Center can

move like Chamberlain, Russell, Kareem, Hakeem could? Oden can. I saw him

do a NASTY spin on Pryzbilla a few years back and he wasnt even 80% yet! I was

about 5 rows from the court too :)

  • @icemanjayketchum You know when I saw oden in college I said hes gonna break down real fast and I would never draft him. I LOVED durant. Had I been a gm..how right id have been lol. I will say my fave blazers teams were the strickland/ porter/robinson teams and also the 99-00 teams that made back to back West finals. BTW Whitsitt was not a bad GM. Why most think so I have no idea.

  • @charismatic9904 Oden hasnt been THIS healthy in years. Hes getting a lot

stronger and faster. I thought Stu Inman was the guy that f***ed up?

  • @icemanjayketchum Most like to blame whitsitt. Yet he constructed the 99 and 2000 squads. The beloved.. 'JAILBLAZERS" LOL.

  • @charismatic9904 I secretly didnt wanna go to a game because of them.

THAT says a lot from a die hard fan like myself. I'm even wearing a game

cut Ducks football jersey as we speak. Having boneheaded calls (like the

Nash shooting freethrows) doesnt help either. We gave Dallas the best

challenge on Defense (against their offense) during the playoffs last season

No offense bro, Miami outscored Dallas to take two in that series. They

    couldnt stop Dallas really.

  • @icemanjayketchum Only reason we lost to dallas is b/c lebron decided not to show up for the 4th quarter of any game lol. Wade carried the team and to my shock bosh had a good series. Lebron was a no show.

  • this bring back so many memories bein a kid growin up in Chicago and dreaming of bein part of the Bulls they tought me how to be a champion a keep pourin it on cause its all personal thanks 4 the memories Chicago Bulls

  • that intro with the NBC peacock and the soaring music, gives you goosebumps, great intro for playoff sport. Too bad it's gone

  • @brebuoch RIGHT! I was just telling someone that even now it still gives me goosebumps to hear that music and intro.

  • damn that theme song makes all the difference! everytime I heard that song I knew th bulls were bout to eff some team up!

  • These NBA on NBC intro stories make the playoffs seem much more competitive

  • If your team ever got into the nba on nbc it meant they were good!

  • thumbs up for NBA on NBC. this was an era that was golden. love to watch those rare Sunday triple headers on NBC .

  • It was NBA on NBC...

    Then Ray Clay...

    Then Michael Jordan!

  • Oh man you know your fucked when Air Jordan says, " It's Personal"

  • Bring back the NBA on NBC and this theme too!

  • Get chill bumps watching this shit.

  • This Chicago Bulls roster vs. the current roster of the Miami Heat...

    LeBron will piss his pants.

  • This song is why MJ was so good. Who wouldnt achieve greatness after listening to this song?

  • Comment removed

  • bring back the nba on nbc, with the golden voice guy.. ehhh whats his name again??

  • @crob187 bob costas??

  • @crob187 Marv Albert :P

  • i remember this, nba on nbc was so passionate.

    The bulls in the 90s

wow no one could do it like them

  • it's game 5 today but the heat are winning 3-1

  • I dislike ESPN's coverage, but TNT is always great.

  • Ironic this years ECF Heat and Bulls

  • @xxxxmattxxxx69 Not ironic.

  • Man I miss those days "/

  • it was the small thing that nbc did that made you feel that you were experiencing the nba more than simply just watching it, i remember watching games played from the delta center (energy solutions arena) and you could appreciate the pandemonium. today they turn down the crowd feed and let you listen to rambling of commentators

  • "WHAT TIME IS IT????"

    "GAME TIME!!!!!!"

  • man i wish i still had my old michael jordan jersey :(

  • its that intro man is so classic nba be back on nbc when the nba whas the NBA

  • I liked the nba on nbc because of the way they did the storylines in their playoff games

  • I now the NHL is not doing to good also ever since the lock out in 2005. But at least the NHL hockey is still on NBC4 not like NBA thats on cheap channel ABC7. But the only thing bad about the NHL is that ever since after the lock out in 2005 NHL they lost their ESPN rights and are broadcasting games on a crappy network Versus. But at they got to stay on NBC4 at least thank god.

  • NBC 4 is the best station better than Disney ABC7. Those were the good ol days when the NBA use to have their home on NBC4. Now the NBA looks bad today what ashame. They went from NBC4 to cheap channel Disney ABC7. They should of stayed on NBC4. The 90's were the best when NBA was looking good and more exciting to watch in Jordan days. David Stern destroyed the NBA. Next year 2011 we might not even have a NBA season cause the league is broke now. I smell a lock out coming in 2011.

  • FreshWesss seriously if even WoodrowBramah781985 can effortlessly dunk, which means even you can, Im precisely 5'10 dude. You can do it too, basically just don't be lazy and follow a training program like the one over at "50-inch-vertical(dot)com", it'll enhance your vertical jump and your rebounding ability.

  • Nothing was better than 90's NBA....Bulls vs Knicks....The Square....on NBC......NOTHING!!!!

    NBA sucks today!

  • back when there was actually passion for the game in the NBA....man i miss these days

  • nba on nbc.. wow. as a kid it was awesome to watch it. miss nbc realy.

    abc - sucks ass.

  • Close to the end of the glory days of the NBA. It is so lame now comparatively.

  • YEShhhhhh!

  • Did anyone else recognize the The Lost World: Jurassic Park score in to MJ intro??

  • i also miss the nba on nbc

  • This time, michael says its personal

  • There is nothing like the NBA on NBC nor will it could ever be replicated again. I loved the "big fight" feel when you watched these games.

  • #VIDEOPOSTERID# great video, reminds me of myself - lol. I'm 5 7 and I can double pump dunk. I took the famous training that real nba players use. For more info about the training program, go to - | 50 inch vertical [dot] com |

1997 NBA NBC Playoffs Bulls Heat Game 5

  • i miss nba on nbc so much!!! just the lead up to every game was so interesting just making you want to watch even more. And when you hear that theme you knew it was game time!!

  • NBC = National Basketball Channel

  • that game 4 was really good...Mike was mad that Scotty got a bump on his head, lmao.....didn't even want to shake Zo's hand before game 5

  • such an epic intro

  • sickest white warmups

  • This takes me back...way back...why can't ESPN do this theme like NBC?

    Simple...they can't. :(

  • To me, hearing this song back in the day indicated that Jordan was about to kick some ass.

  • @91bbos That is very true! lmao.

  • lmao!! tru tru

  • GOOD TIMES!!!

  • damn i miss Nba on Nbc...fuck i miss the 90`s Nba

  • @bekbilguun ME TOO

  • I don't get why ABC can't quite capture the dramatic atmosphere like NBA used to do. It's like they're purposely doing everything to get away from the moody, gritty, dramatic, heroic intro that NBC had, and just made it a colorful, happy-go-lucky, pop/jazz fest. That's my problem with Monday Night Football too, it's like, why are they going for this whole Country theme? Showing people smiling and crap, it should be DRAMA and EXCITEMENT, not smiling country stars and singers.

  • Haha I love how they use Jurassic park music during the MJ highlights..NBA on NBC = Greatest sports intro ever..

  • Am I the only one who got disappointed when they didn't show the long intro? It was half the reason I watched most of the games.

  • Everytime I watched when I was 5(13 years ago), I would always hope for it. If it didn't come, at least I could listen to some Roundball Rock and watch the Bulls kick some ass.

  • NBA on NBC intros were simply badass. If those didn't get you riled up you might want to check your pulse.

  • i know. they all gave me chills back then and seeing them now they still give me chills. i get PUMPED. i miss the old days.

  • Very true. They made the games so much more interesting.

  • When Michael Jordan says, "It's personal," you know you're about to get your ass beat.

  • Wow I didnt know but at 1:06 the lakers do that these days

  • Where do you think the lakers got that from? Bulls did it throughout the 90s.

  • when the Bulls did that little intro before taking the floor was imitated by everyone I know our high school team used it...

  • The thing I miss about the NBA on NBC is the intro where the would do the promo and "This is the NBA on NBC" with the flamingo outline..then after the intro when they would have the music and show players walkin into the building....memories

  • randy brown lol and smh

  • The 90's were the best so as basketball had the best era. NBA on NBC was amazing when ever you hear that intro of NBA on Nbc you already know whats good. If David Stern wants AMAZING in the NBA he should bring NBA to NBC now thats where amazing happens.

  • i agree wit u completely

  • I loved the aerial flyover...godddd

  • EVERYONE --- I HAVE MADE A FACEBOOK GROUP CALLED "WE WANT NBA ON NBC!!" (with the exclamation points). ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN JOINING CAN LOOK UP THE NAME JUSTIN MERRY - UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA OR JUST LOOK UP THE GROUP NAME ENCLOSED IN QUOTATIONS ABOVE!!

  • This was back when the nba was good. It sucks now.

  • are you serious, ImmortalDragon? you've gotta be joking..do you know that the players in 90's were more defensive and stronger than the players nowadays? point guards at that time were able grab rebounds and centers at that time were able to do some assists...and NBC is million times better!

  • marv albert has got to be one of the best...if not the best ....play by play man ever

  • i know..Kevin Harlan tries so much to sound like Marv Albert...but he sucks "Right BETWEEN THE EYES" ... mannnn..get da f**k outta here....

  • i agree bill walton is pretty good too "throw it down big man" lol

  • This was when the NBA had it all. The rivalries, guys playing with a handful of injuries and not complaining, no ticky tack foul calls, and the games were so intense. And the NBA had NBC

  • i hear ya man, i hear ya

  • omgggggggggggggggggggg i loved these intros.. like a trailer for a movie.. and the games always delivered

  • the 90s is the shit

  • NBA on NBC=Best NBA era ever!

  • I've uploaded a about 20 NBA on NBC clips. I thought the NBA on NBC was a great telecast when it was on and I'm glad I taped everything. One buddy at the time asked me why I liked NBC so much, and I tried to explain it to him, but I'm not so sure he got the essence of it all.

Fast forward to today, and the broadcasts aren't the same (sure TNT is good, but the others aren't). But I'm just glad others feel the same way about the NBA on NBC as I do and it's great reading all these comments.

  • at least NFL on fox and other networks is still great, and has great theme music.

coincidentally enough, the worst NFL broadcast is monday night football--- which is on ESPN, but that's only because of the horrible commentators(kornheiser).

  • Nice scenery outlook on the sky scrapers on this NBA intro.

  • I know what you mean its that music the hype of the game even the announcer with all the great moments you have some announcer screaming BULLS WIN stuff like that now we have reggie miller guys with no excitement but NBA is getting better

  • I agree TNT is good as was NBC and it's because of Marv Albert, he's the best sports comentator!!! Marv Rocks!!!

  • @FreshWesss

I hear you about the NBA on NBA! I loved the opening intro, the peacock, the "sound" of Marv Albert, and everything else about it.

  • @FreshWesss

Yeah, sports telecasts don't have the same 'feel' that they used to. There was something about the 90s, and something about NBC's telecast of the NBA that just felt better, and I can't really explain it.

  • @FreshWesss I totally feel your attitude. The way I liked it: NBA on NBC, NHL on ESPN/ESPN 2 (with the NHL 2-nite show), Monday night football on ABC, Sunday night football on ESPN with Chris Berman/Tom Jackson's NFL primetime show right before the game started. Oh, and what the heck, MTV playing a three hour music video show from 7-10 pm. Then don't forget SportsCenter with Keith Olberman (where he can talk sports and not politics) and Dan Patrick.

If it ain't broke, never fix it!

  • @FreshWesss TNT is only tolerable because of the T-Mobile halftime show, otherwise its just the same as ESPN. So glad I'm a Bulls fan and I get to watch Stacey King and Neil Funk put on the most entertaining show on earth next to the one they are calling...

  • nbc forever!! whoa mj,marv and the others!!

    the reel nba!!!

  • Hahaha who was the white guy saying WHAT TIME IS IT! Mike probably told me after that if you ever do that again....ill kill you

  • Comment removed

  • NBA should go back to NBC. Fuck TNT and NBA tv. I want NBC back. All you NBA fans should vote for Nba to come back to NBC

  • you right for the most part...but TNT been covering the NBA for years..including tuesday, wednesday and friday games..then you have about 2-3 games on NBC on sunday..miss it just thinking about it

  • ya tnt was there even during the nbc years, its still decent. but abc for nbc sucks incredibly in comparison. good times back in the day.

  • For real, NBC does it real big, not like these other channels. The intros alone got you ready for the game. The hype is lost with these other wack channels. BRING BACK THE NBA ON NBC!

  • Apparently, ABC has a contract with the NBA until 2016.

  • @Deadshot089 Unfortunately, we the fans don't get a vote on what networks broadcast what sports leagues the way we vote for who runs our country, and each of our respective states and cities.

  • NBA on NBC was the best. Always a story behind the game to treat the viewers to a movie-like intro and pumped up for the game.

  • NBC YEAHH!!!!!!

  • Good times!!!

  • I was born n '80 so u know i remember these days..lol Damn i miss the nba on nbc. Those were the best!!!!

  • I was born in '89 & I remember these days! I miss these days too! I wish ESPN had this theme song nowadays!

  • i miss nba on nbc...

  • My Bulls own the Heat when it comes playoff time. They were fortunate against us in 2006 with our inexperience showing but we swept them away in 2007. 1992, 1996, 1997, 2007--Standard of normalcy beating them.

  • That would be Jim Fagan.

Mitch Phillips also did voicovers for the NBA on NBC in the early part of the 90's.

  • what's the name of the announcer who says

"..this is the nba on nbc,the 1997 nba playoffs.." ??

  • "a 20 point 4th quarter explosion!"

  • This theme has ressurected on NBC for Olympic Basketball But Marv Albert is not annoucing in Beijing.

  • The guy announcing is actually Mike Breen from the NBA on ABC. He actually worked for the NBA on NBC until 2002, when NBC surrendered TV rights to ABC.

  • that was too bad marv albert wasn't there, he and NBA on NBC went together like peanut butter & jelly

  • Lets Hope Marv can go to the 2012 Olympic Basketball games

  • Big problem for the Heat in this series was that they didn't use Mashburn as their go-to post player. Chicago had no answer for Mashburn. But when he missed a shot in the paint he didn't see the ball again for days...

  • sad thing for me is when i was younger in the 90's i really couldnt remember the games from nbc. when i got a lil older when i did start to remember i moved overseas and i had to watch international version coverage if the nba. so when i finally did get back to the states they already switched to abc. so now all i got is videos on youtube to remember it by. even though these intros are old it makes me still wanna watch those games they are introducing!! i can only hope they bring it back someday

  • kobe sux oh and how Shaq's ass taste

  • fuck u stupid white boy!!!

  • Man does that NBA on NBC theme make me nostalgic and gives me some serious chills. ABC is a joke. NBA on NBC had the best games in the 90's and 00 01 and 02. Oh man I could still remember when i was a kid in the 90s, if I didnt hear this intro before a game, the game wouldnt be complete but the games were still excellent.

  • i agree with you man.

  • NBA on NBC brings back one strong memory.

Kobe dropping 42 in one half on MJ, with Jordan insisting on guarding him the whole game.

    Talk about snatching the torch!

  • Oh please, put a message up when Kobe's career avg is 30.5 and he shoots .495 for his career. He is 8 scoring titles short of Michael and 4 regular season MVPS short as well as 6 finals MVP's short. I dont want to hear that Kobe will have more points total either because he came out of High school which gives him an extra 3-4 years. Kobe hasnt want a title without Shaq, and I dont think he ever will.

  • not forgetting the retirement periods too...

  • Kobe can't hold Jordan's jockstrap. I've seen them both play in person. And it's not close. Not only was Jordan unstoppable offensively. But his defense was fucking sick. Dude won defensive player of the year. Kobe will NEVER win that award. Not to mention Jordan won 6 championships. Kobe's only 3 came with Shaq in his PRIME. It's not even close. Jordan was the best to ever touch a basketball.

  • wasnt there a sega game that had this music?

  • i could only swear this intro is the best intro i have ever heard in sports history..nothing gets u more pumped up than this!!!

  • man i miss the 90s!!!!!! best tv shows n definitely best basketball games ever!!!!

  • John Tesh FTW!!!!!!

  • now thats what im talking about!!!!!! Marv Albert and the NBA on NBC intro and theme...shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhitt now that gets me pumped up to watch some ball....abc is crap...

  • LOVE the nba on nbc theme! even kobe talked about it hehe

  • I know I heard him singing it in 2000!!!

  • i hope hornets can beat the spurs in the playoffs and advance to the western conference

finals to vs the utah jazz

  • I dont know if anyone noticed, but the music being played up until the NBC logo is from the movie "The Lost World: Jurassic Park." Just thought Id point that out.

  • I was glad MJ and them whipped the Heat. The Knicks got robbed that year by freaking P.J. Brown

  • i want the nba back on nbc

  • i despise basketball, but this is one of the best opening themes there is.

  • why do u despise basketball?

  • basketball is the greatest sport ever and michael jordan is the greatest player to ever live

  • hey there,

if someone is reading it, and you have the nbc intro for game five on 1998 finals, PLEASE post it!

i would really appreciate it! thanks..

  • can't believe Alonzo Mourning still with the Heat.

  • I can't believe he came back from the kidney. I didn't think he had a chance. To think he's still in the NBA, and is still a defensive force when he is out there

  • Two we'll never see in the conference finals ever again.

  • NBA ON NBC more please.

  • can't beat the classics

  • 25 4th quarter points by himself.

    BY HIMSELF

  • cool, please send

  • more mj games between the bulls and the heat is all i need.
