If the majority of workers want a union now, there is nothing stopping them from voting for it in a secret ballot. There is no rational justification for this legislation. The Employee Forced Choice Act takes away the right to keep ones vote private, allowing union goons to intimidate workers into signing on. The right to secret ballot is fundamental to democracy.

Worse, the act forces businesses and unions to accept government arbitration in strikes, whether both want it or not.

So, democracy is good enough for the Mexican laborers, but not for Americans? Taking away the secret ballot just invites union organizers to threaten, intimidate and coerce membership. Yeah, thanks for the reply. A few more questions: You presented an example where the voters are trying to set-up a union. What about when it is already established and the some union employees want to vote in a way that doesn't agree with union agenda in that particular situation? Why secret ballot here? Also, I was a non-union employee at a former job, but had to be represented, by rule, by the union if a situation arose. They called this union..."in-house." Can you explain this?

this is untrue from my experiences. example, i worked at a union shop.  our dues were 2 hours pay once per month. so that 2 dollars adds up to $360 per month extra pay for the worker, to only $4 a month for the union. see why the anti union bashers are wrong.

completely incorrect. this can easily be checked by just doing the math. $15 per hour * 40 hrs = $600. if your check adds up to the correct number you've gotten all your money. i work in a union shop, don't spread that b.s.

Your employer submits money that you earned but it does not show up on your check. It is called the pension and benefit fund. Pension and benefits only add up to 16%. The other 14% lines the pockets of union bosses.
