  • Like Carlos Santana sang: I'm Winning

  • What an inspiration. Never give up and never lose faith. I cried the first time I saw the movie cuz I knew this man went through a lot more , it really touched me n inspired me most of all. Thanks for sharing ur story Mr. Gardner :)

  • i've bet his ex wife regrets leaving him now..

  • oh man now i know my life is so freaking easy gees Chris Gardner u r my heroe my herore

  • @freedraco I like what you wrote. I said the same thing. I work in sales in a new job. I make 30 - 50 calls a day. I now am focusing on 75 - 100. If Mr Gardner can do 200 a day, 75 is easy. Good luck to you.

  • Hope Gardner survived the stock market crash because I sure as hell didn't. What a story though!!

  • what a good man, a great father, and a true success. The only thing that saddens me is the fact that the mother wouldnt stand by him, I really don't know what I'd do.

  • he is the definition of what a man should be.

  • but even those that are not so incredibly strong should not suffer as they do.

  • such an "american dream" story...such a great book and movie but why are americans always trying to make out like its some great generosity in part of their country to allow those that work hard to be successful? Where sucess is measured by being an a-hole stock broker or something. Noone should have to work so hard and noone should have such excesses of wealth while the majority have nothing. This man, however, is incredible.

  • Welcome home son.... That is incredible. Nelson Mandella is a total legend.

  • i hear ya trighton13

  • for someone like me that just all seems impossiible...

  • this men is so elegant

  • how can 12 people dislike ? 12 people are bad ass step fathers!!!

  • by God i hate america but as a matter of fact american's has the quality to make america what america is today.......... honestly by hard work they deserve that place

  • his kid looks like a loser, what does he do?

  • @smellyface101 Come on smellyfaceI If this story teaches one thing it's that you can't always go by appearances.

  • man, amazing job with that washroom. looks so similar.

  • Nice job on the video looks good. When you have time come visit my channel!

  • 12 losers dislike !!! the person is awesome !! 'you are a good papa '

  • I'm a man for 2 kids, when i saw the movie i have cried 3 times, you are the most respectful man in this world

  • his man has fully respect.

  • wow people really thumb this down?

    the pursuit of sadness

  • So great person!

  • um..... how do you dislike this? i guess they made a mistake because they were so awe struck.

  • what hapened to his wife tht left him...?

  • @shozibs I also wonder that!

  • what hapened to his wife tht left him...?

  • Watching this made me respect Chris Gardner even more. I have to get this book. The man said @ 2:09, I didnt know whether to quit, crack or die....That is the realist ish I have ever heard!

  • watching the persuit of happiness, for 13th time,

  • @dONLY1NiSH Stop watching and start doing the same damn thing he did.

  • @Racefreak1976

yup, yup,, I've already started doing things,, I watch this movie for motivation and inspiration, :D

  • A book I keep display openly in my home. God touch this soul when he was born. I'm Thankful to know his story and to learn by him.

  • they couldnt of got a better actor for the movie.

  • what a great man, quite an extraordinary lifestory

  • Amazing guy :), If people was 50% of what he is this world would be different!

  • while I was watching this movie I felt like watching my nephew on Jaydn's role . I am an Asian and Jaydn's not but they really look like each other lol so sweet :)

  • 11 people didnt get a job for a stock broker WHILE being homeless

  • baffles me how 11 people gave a thumbs down for this.

  • I wouldnt take anything from my journey now......oh except the cock up the ass

  • @ggallen99 It's ignorant people like you that are so miserable with life that you reak of jealousy. You are someone that will never make it as Chris and you deserve every bit of your misery. You reap what you sow. Good luck in your useless journey.

  • GARDNER IS THE MAN!

  • what a strong smart guy!! this guy is a rolemodel for sure

  • 11 mutha fuckas didnt have the balls as Tony Montana put it in Scarface, to be what the want to be. To you haters who have something to say about Chris Gardener, you really need to take a look at your soul and think about the strength this man has to overcome, more than ever alot of us are suffering due to the economic climate. Be strong, have faith and you can overcome anything in life. God Bless

  • Gardner's the man.

  • I took from this movie if you work hard it will pay in the end.Against all odds and obstacles you can do anything you put your mind to do

  • who on earth would unlike this?

  • What an inspiring story.

  • ima be just like this guy

  • HE IS THE MAN! FOR REAL.GOD BLESS HIM AND EVERYONE LIKE HIM.

  • "Pursuit of Happiness"...this is what REAL america is all about!

  • @gangupnow i bet you just watched the movie on TNT... didnt you, lol.

  • @imtooKOOLtohaveAname LOL yeah....

I watch when it came and then yesterday and I still cried.

  • I can't even fathom how much stress this man must have gone through.... and im complaining about school.. that put me into place.

  • simply amazing. folks we have no excuses for not pursuing our dreams. If a man who was beaten, raped, and homeless can muster the strength to succeed then we all can do it.

It starts with a commitment - to your kids, your mission, your church or whatever it is you're passionate about.

Dare to act on your dreams!

  • @trainmaster5000 no its not commitment. everyone can have "commitment" for small goals. But to pursue life changing events, is a different story. You need perseverance and resiliency, qualities which unfortunately everyone does not have.

  • @trainmaster5000 Nicely put!!!!

  • What I am astonished about is that nobody sees how disgusting it is that in one of the riches countries of the world an honest father and a child sleep on the street. I have a lot of respect for Mr. Gardner, but this should not have happened in America. It is not the American dream, but a capitalist nightmare. How many decent fathers and mothers are living out of their cars and on the streets of America nowadays....

  • Can anyone tell me which station it is that the bathroom is? I already know it's not Glen Park.

  • @gkdrummerboy Bay Area Rapid Transit Station.

  • Just saw the movie. It was amazing. I can't believe that I didn't watch it the first time it came out in movies. I wanna be like him :) lol

  • You are an inspiration to all of us Brazilians. Congratulations.

  • Chirs Gardener. He is one guy on the earth who SUCCEEDED on his pursuit of happyness. such inspiring person

  • such great humility....love the movie........love the story ...so motivating....well done chris gardner.....

  • THIS is Capitalism!

  • @poopster102 well said - capitalism when practiced properly can take people out of poverty, create jobs and lead us onward!

  • :') that man is genune he really is a good person, I hope I can be like him someday

  • The true rags- to - riches story of a homeless man raised his son with unconditioned love.

  • ahh I cried watching the this and the movie. such an incredible story. how many people are living like this? great man chris gardener!

  • This man is a great human being.

  • Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.

  • I bet his ex wife who left him now feels like shit for ever walking out on him. But this guy is too amazing!

  • and i thought the movie would have been more dramatic his story was much worse i have nothing but up most respect for him

  • RESPECT XXX

  • chris gardner is bigger man than anyone i know, this man never abandon his son even if all hope is lost, all of the man should be like him

  • From what I've observed (not only from this video) Chris Gardner is an A**hole. But that's what life (as pictured in Pursuit of happyness) does to you.

  • his wife who quit on him then probably regrets losing such a great man..

  • I'm a 29 yr old man and tears came out my eyes at the part when Mr. Gardner mentioned the part about Nelson Mandela said to him, "welcome home son."

    I'm speechless right now!

  • A man to admire.

  • I'm speechless.. he is a real inspiration..!!

  • Chris Gardner: the real american dream

  • awesome!

  • Wow!!!!!!

  • incredible

  • @CircleCityCurry in wot sense and why?

  • Will Smith's wife is a singer of a punk/metal band

  • People are so fast to place the title of hero on athletes, but its regular men and women like Mr. Gardner, that deserve that title. Theres no goal that cant be accomplished, if you willing to work and push forward.

  • today i watched the movie, and i learnt lots of things from it.

  • i just watched the DVD of The Pursuit of Happyness, felt so touching and I can't imagine it is a true story.

  • What an amazing story, I'm a dad and I can only imagine what he felt when he had to sleep in that public restroom.. I can't help but to be grateful for what I have been given and to pray for those who find themselves in difficult situations still today.

  • Gardner is someone everybody should look up to.

  • Chris Gardner is a man who deserves all possible respect, right here.

  • @HUSKY5757 So true

  • Gardner speaks proudly of his daughter often, since she is a college graduate which is wonderful. I was wondering what the hell is his son up to? I've seen about 20 youtube posts on gardner and he always says ," My son who is just barely getting it." Sounds like his son is lazy and doesn't have the DRIVE.

  • Yeah. I don't think he had much of a mastermind helping him naturally achieve his goal either. He made that decision and had Step 1 and 2 covered. Didn't see too much SPA. Just a lot of PPA that helped him naturally achieve his goal like The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich said.

  • It just goes to show what lengths parents will go to do for their children. So inspiring.

I can see jasonvn02 that you're a fan of Brian Kim's work as well. His blog is great and so are his MITs. And you're right. I can see how Gardner applied the Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich. I think it had to do a lot about the influence of his PPA and SPA. Definitely helped to make it natural.

  • A true exemplary pursuit of determination to give so much as well as to sacrifice so much for the love of his son to be able to accomplish the maximum for his son's benefit.

    God bless you Mr. Gardner

  • What a great role model for all fathers today. These days, some fathers just leave and don't take any responsibility. Garnder truly deserves everything he's worked hard for.

If you like inspirational stories like his, I highly recommend The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich. It shows you how to naturally achieve your goals and after hearing about Gardner's story, I can see exactly how he applied the Hidden Secret (not LOA) to achieve his goals. Truly remarkable.

  • An amazing story. The most important aspect is that he made sure he could turn around and help others in need.

  • wow...amazing man....im touch...

  • He wouldn't made it if his son wouldn't be with him.

  • Amazing man indeed, we can all learn from this a lot

  • God bless this man

  • If I were Chris Jr. I would be so proud of my father. :) <3 .

  • GOD bless u chris

  • a very inspirational story

  • What a man!

  • This man happened to be a very unique homeless man: WITH MOTIVATION. most homeless people dont have this kind of drive and just live, well...drift the days.

  • i think that all his power came from his son :D

  • Yes, i agree. His fuel was his son. His motive and reason to keep on working hard was his son...he felt he needed to be the father he never had...he wanted to do what his father didnt do for him.

  • money does by happyness

  • no it doesnt but it helps lol

  • A beautiful story :)

  • u see. things are different now..U CANT DO THIS NOW/......FIND ME A HOMELESS MAN NOW AND LEMME SEE HIM DO THIS....NEVER TIMES HAVE CHANGED

  • homelessness is not the focal point here, having a dream and bringing it into fruition is.

  • i am aware that homelessness is not the focal point, and i apologize if i made a whole different point: but i do repeat, he was a very motivated homeless man. Most homeless people surrender to the sad life of poverty.

  • Check out "From Homeless To Harvard"

  • wow

  • God Bless you Chris!!

  • Anouther thing to that Kazzo guy if you cant hear you should try listening. Would you want to spend an eternity with peopl who spit in your face or ignore you or people who love you and are thankful for what he had done.

  • I'm a muslim ^^ partytimeyay, god is great.

  • This truly is a life-like example of the phrase: "Never say never."

  • oh , what about never say "never say never"

some things are constants, happiness is never the changed ! Hah! i said never ! You lose .... or do you?

  • Great Man!

  • You are one of the most braves man I ever seen in my life. You are the biggest inspiration to anyone in the world.

  • touching story, good movie, love will smith. Although, I wish Will and Jada would steer clear of the Cult of $cientology.

  • wow are you kidding, i hope you can at least back yourself up.

  • the lord thy god can kiss my ass

  • why dont you kiss my ass fag.

  • i love you

  • What has He done for me??? WOW where do I start!!! I've seen miracle after miracle that can not be explained except for the fact that there is a living God!

  • Only Jesus Could save me from myself.

  • let me just say something to this Kazzo person!! God is not just a god okay, aw yes, praise God for wasn't him you wouldn't survive today! praise him for wasn't him you wouldn't be free by then!! buddy don't just criticize because it is all coming from your inner feeling..and God Bless you mouth..forgive me Lord and my neighbours out there but im out!

  • It is always GOD who provides the opportunity. Think about it, there are so many such Gardners, only one became The Chris Gardner.. Never underestimate the power of the LORD. He gives the same strength to everyone but the WILL (the force of the LORD) helps the one who believes....AMEN....

  • God sure is a fickle, spiteful prick. He helps this Chris Gardner but lets all the other Chris Gardners suffer? What a great God.

Praise God for all the kids he allows to be raped and murdered.

Praise God for saving all those people on flight 1549 but killing everyone on flight 447.

Praise God for giving my neighbor (a born again Xian) spina bifida.

    Yippee! What a swell God.

  • Kazzzo, bad things happen to "good" and "bad" people b/c the earth was cursed by God when Adam and Eve sinned in the beginning of time. God Does "NOT" MAKE BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO PEOPLE. Life is just unfair. plain and simple. But if you tap into God (meaning develop a relationship w/ him; pray etc) then HE will show you true LOVE and give you understanding. Its YOUR choice.

  • OK, let's say that life is unfair. Who made it unfair? Your God did. He created EVERYTHING! He created Satan and Hell and pain and suffering etc. etc. If he wanted to show me true love, he could do away with some of his horrors.

So he creates a flawed universe and then demands that we love him or he'll make us burn in hell? And all because his first attempt (Adam and Eve) failed? No thanks.

Face it, if I treated my children the way God treats his, I'd be in jail for abuse.

  • You for got the part that god created everything good Saten was one of gods angles but he made wrong chioces over and over and choose evil. Saten tempted adam and eve not god. God welcomes his friendshipe not demands. He treats us better then we deserve. His son died for us so we could be saved after all we have done he still gives us a chioce to enter a perfict place after death. How is that not loveing.

  • his son died for us to save his own ass. he makes a messed up world and then put all of us here [without asking] and then asks us to love him when its his fault that everything is like this.

god created everything. god knows everything, past, present, and future.

so why the heck did he do all of this if he knew how it was going to turn out??

    riddle me that.

  • save himself from what he didnt do anything wrong. he made a perfect world it was humans who screwed everything up. He lets everyone have a chioce and it's the wrong chioces that everyone makes that makes the world messed.

  • @partytimeyay u call urself muslim wen u say god has son? istafgrallah dnt speak again just keep ur mouth just u dnt knw notin god doesnt have children u stupid person get life

  • LOL. YOU SAID IT BUDDY.

i completely agree. i taught at an all girls christian camp for 4 years and i know my bible better than most.

god DID create a flawed universe. god does demand love or else. god also believes in sacrfice, and for someone who's supposed to be all knowing, why in the hell couldn't he find a better way than sacrificing his son??

and back up peeps. i didn't choose to be born. that negates everything else for me.

i admire chris gardner btw. the man is a rock star.

  • why does god keep forgiving millions of sins why does god give us a secound chance when we dont deserve it? Why does god even allow us to live when he knows every wrong we will do before we do it? Would you rather be a puppet with no chioce? He gives us life without us asking. He gives us a beautiful world without asking, a chance to be happy love and anouther chance for exsistance without asking.

  • okay stop it atheists, i know your flooding youtube ,,,,,,, go and thumbsdown soclassychic...... he's talking about god :P

  • pure. genius.

  • "concrete evidence" "miracles"???????? for example what?
