Haven't they ever heard of packing the scrap...I run a 300 ton charge crain and we really don't have near as much room as what they have to drag that but man. I wonder how many water panels they take out a year when they get the bucket swinging that crazy.
Interesting that clown with no hard hat on and no obvious safety gear next to that arc furnace showing his face in the camera, One blob of steel and he is a gonner.
if u notice that this furnace charged manually and there is so much time lost this furnace in Egypt this furnace since 1976 can u imagine the big difference in tech ?
in Egypt there also high tech furnace that can produce 7000 t/day but i have not seen it yet .... by the way i still student :) but I'm really interested
dude 17 tons per 23 mins is 44 tons an hour, and if your furnace is bigger then its obviously gonna have greater tonnage, plus all arc furnaces dont run smelt the same materials so the heat of fusions/vaporizations may be substanstially larger
well, there isn't alot of info on what's really goin on in this one. i dont really know their practice here, but this EAF looks to be about the same as ours(about 130T). They changed our melting s.o.p. because of water panel issues. They send my slab caster a heat every 45-50minutes avg 130T(when we're making good bonus). It's low, paratectic, and high C grades used for construction/piping ect. It's a very interesting job, when your head is on right.haha if it aint,..ur IN HELL!!!!!

You suck if it takes you 23min to melt 17 tons! Your operators suck! On average, our tap tons,an hour,is about 150t. My EAF aint any smaller.
