I know... i am so glad that i had that chance before my Grandfather died. We actually sat down and talked about it for a little over an hour. I told him everything i needed to, and he nodded and that was pretty much it. We're not a real emotional bunch, so i knew how to read his feelings and i saw he was touched by what i had said... he died about 2 months later.

True love is wonderful and I thank the Lord that at least I have been loved once this much in my life. My husband is at peace with the child we lost in 1983. Something happened today that almost put me to my knees. I accidently hit a button on my cordless phone cradle and Ed's voice came from the anwwering machine. That message has been there since the 15 June 2003. Ed passed away on the 27 June 2003. Memories came flooding back. I found this song. Why? I will love him forever, but there is someone else that I have such deep feelings for. Ed would say, "Go for it, girl" Ah, I will love you forever, Ed. Forever.

Does it really matter who or what Lorrie is singing this song for? It's a great song which spoke to MY heart and isn't that why we listen to music? It was here when I needed a way to express to myself and others the pain I feel losing my husband.

We were making plans to move to another state, he was being transferred with his company, we had already made plans to go and look at houses. He had lung cancer, and many tumors over his back and spine area, and one tumor in his esophagus. He died 16 years ago.

dia33386: Goodness, our stories are close. I checked your profile, "West Side Story" was always one of my favorite movies too. The movie "Guarding Tess" was partially filmed right here in our town. It was a movie I really enjoyed. Getting back to Lorrie's song, I lost my mother when I was 17, she had leukemia for 4 years, she died 6 months before I graduated from high school, I really believe I will see her again in heaven. Lorrie's song is such a wonderful tribute to all who have passed.
To the few ones' out there that have put Lorrie "down" and believe she is doing some songs just for making big profits from her husbands lost, PLEASE, listen UP. Lorrie is a performer, she expresses herself through singing, what better way for her to express how she would feel about her husband's return.

Well my son passed away 9-11-07 he was in the Army and was in a chopper crash, at it has been the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with in my life.. This song was great, I sent it to his wife in hoping it will help her some.. God Bless Lorrie Morgan for singing this song...

Something happened today that almost put me to my knees. I accidently hit a button on my cordless phone cradle and Ed's voice came from the anwwering machine. That message has been there since the 15 June 2003. Ed passed away on the 27 June 2003. Memories came flooding back. I found this song. Why? I will love him forever, but there is someone else that I have such deep feelings for. Ed would say, "Go for it, girl" Ah, I will love you forever, Ed. Forever.

I just lost my brother, He was born on the same day as I was, but he was 9 years older. but we had a special relationship. He was my friend, my confident, my protector.If I had problems, he would solve them. I don't know how to go on without him.I was the last person he spoke to, even though he was semi comatose, he told me he loved me.Please pray that I can go on without him.I miss you Hunky, and I hope to see you soon iin Heaven.

This Song is so nice, When my great aunt passed away they played it at her funeral, and the other day her grandson which is onrom 3 years old was singing if u came back from heaven id never send u back. At least she is in a better place now. and she knows we all love her.

This is exactly how I would want it to be if he came back. I miss him so much, sometimes I think it will get easier, but after 17 years it's still the same. My prayers are with you all who have lost that special someone and just remember someday we will meet them again.

Thank you so very much for posting this. At Grand Old Opry night at the church last night, a woman dressed as Lorrie Morgan sang this, and my grandmother really needed to hear it again. She lost her husband of 43 years in January, and this made her feel so much better. Thank you so much and God bless.

Does it really matter who or what Lorrie is singing this song for? It's a great song which spoke to MY heart and isn't that why we listen to music? It was here when I needed a way to express to myself and others the pain I feel losing my husband.

I couldn't agree more and let's not forget that Lorrie didn't only sing this song but she also co-wrote it. I posted this song because it touches hearts and I think all the comments from people who have lost a dearly loved one, are a testimony to that. I did not post it so that people could make spiteful comments about Lorrie.From now on all further comments will have to be approved by me, so I think that's an end to the matter.

You have my sincere thanks for posting it as I haven't been listening to music much since Burge died and I hadn't heard this song before. Until they lose someone as dear as my husband, they won't understand what a good song and a good cry can do for you. The pain is there and it hurts so much.

All thumbs up to you all. Losing a son is the most what can I say, saddening thing ever. We lose our breath. I understand the negative side of what people say but I also understand the selfish part of us too. We all know heaven is the best, not here but we want to embrase our loved ones. Too hold and to love them. God, keep them from hunger, from pain.

this is a haunting beautiful song, while i haven't lost a girlfriend, nor a wife, i have lost plenty of others, my mother died when i was 5, i never knew her, but i loved her, i can't even remember her, the only thing i can remember, is her dark hair, sure i have seen pictures...all my life i have asked myself is it better to lose a love one while so young? or have them in your life for 40 or 50 yrs, i think it doesn't matter, hurt is hurt, heartache is heartache, God bless you momma.

when I first heard this song I broke down and cried. I lost my dad nearly four years ago and I hurt just as much as the day god took him from me. And like Lorri says if he came back and left me again, this time I would be leaving with him. It eases the heart slightly knowing that millions of other hearts are broken just like mine. The song is beautiful and I love Lorrie's voice

dia33386: I wasn't married, but he finally asked me after ten years. He was married before and I believe he was afraid to make the commitment, when he finally was ready, it was too late. We were making plans to move to another state, he was being transferred with his company, we had already made plans to go and look at houses. He had lung cancer, and many tumors over his back and spine area, and one tumor in his esophagus. He died 16 years ago.
He meant the world to me, he passed on Easter.

dia33386: Goodness, our stories are close. I checked your profile, "West Side Story" was always one of my favorite movies too. The movie "Guarding Tess" was partially filmed right here in our town. It was a movie I really enjoyed. Getting back to Lorrie's song, I lost my mother when I was 17, she had leukemia for 4 years, she died 6 months before I graduated from high school, I really believe I will see her again in heaven. Lorrie's song is such a wonderful tribute to all who have passed.

To the few ones' out there that have put Lorrie "down" and believe she is doing some songs just for making big profits from her husbands lost, PLEASE, listen UP. Lorrie is a performer, she expresses herself through singing, what better way for her to express how she would feel about her husband's return.

dia33386: You are so right! People should never second quess someone else's feelings. I lost the man I loved, within five weeks from learning he was sick. I quess you could say I was in shock, as I didn't expect it to happen so fast. I was crazy about him. Lorrie didn't even have a warning. I love this song, it is so beautiful!

Well I don't know if it would help or not..but when my kids gramma passed away I told them that even though we will miss her very much...it's not so much the day of her death as it is her birthday into a new life with Christ and without the pains of life. So we should be happy for her. Just a thought to share...
