are you american? many revolutions have been non violent, for example the revolutions of 1989 or the Glorious Revolution of 1688. Northern Ireland was not a revolution, it was a guerilla war. The majority of the Northern Irish population voted to be part of the UK. The British soldiers were sent in to stop violence between Loyalists and Republican groups, not to quench a rebellion like had happened in Ireland. The IRA saw themselves as freedom fighters but they did not represent the majority.

we came through years of struggle to get to the peace agreements. Now we get along with the Irish, N Ireland is happy to be part of the UK. the IRA themselves now condemn violence. are you american? many revolutions have been non violent, for example the revolutions of 1989 or the Glorious Revolution of 1688. Northern Ireland was not a revolution, it was a guerilla war. The majority of the Northern Irish population voted to be part of the UK. The British soldiers were sent in to stop violence between Loyalists and Republican groups, not to quench a rebellion like had happened in Ireland. The IRA saw themselves as freedom fighters but they did not represent the majority.

@ajkrunch94 both Republican and Unionists were responsible for atrocities against each other and the civilian population. The Provisional IRA its self killed about 630 civilians. Over 1850 civilians died in the whole conflict. Thankfully both sides got tired of the violence and signed a series of peace agreements in the 90's that stopped the killing. Very few people want to go back to the Troubles. A new vote was held and most people voted to be part of the UK. The army operation ceased in 2006.

For one, what gives any country the right to invade another in the first place, try to strip away our language and our culture piece by piece. The IRA would not have formed in the first place only for the British Goverment typically trying to own everywhere...Gibralter is another example, also under english rule because it is a key location...........
