Great message... I guess it's been half-heard. In terms of restoring funding to family planning programmes overseas, this current administration's done better than the last one. In terms of addressing overpopulation within the USA itself by reducing the massive immigration that drives it, there's been no change. i watched and read again with another critical eye, and the only thing i found faulty or inaccurate is "beautiful mountains", more like nice looking hills?
I'm just showing off some of my colorado background... The Appalachians are a pretty piss poor excuse for mountains, but certainly worth keeping people out! (like that will ever be an overpopulated area - chuckle chuckle)

Every human within walking distance of a doctor should be sterilized, with or without their consent, because their genetic copies are destroying the environment, regardless of their poverty level. After that we can talk about sustainable population.

Our extinction would be the easiest solution, yet the most single-minded. I respect your opinion. We can feel guilty that we made the world what it is now: Screwed, but the only reason is our situation: Hunger. We, in Denmark - and like so many other western countries - has seen a big decrease in our rate of population increase. We've actually decreased in popularity here in Europe. My guess is our success. In Africa, one of the most simple solution of gathering food is just more "labour".

(Continued): African and Asian countries has an increased population. And mostly you see families with at least four kids. It has been proven that poor families raises more kids than wealthy families. If we gave a little of our resources to those in need, it would all change. But no one cares about being paragon anymore. That's our biggest problem; we usually won't help unless it affects us somehow.

lol..the point is the Progress energy factory in the background to the left and, to people from the Asheville area this particular view from the Blue ridge parkway used to show alomost no housing. it's hard to see in this video, but in person now you see huge, multi-thousand home developments now. My tits being so focal in this can be attributed to my husband's choice of framing and telling me how and where to stand...lol.

I support everything you said in this video. But why haven't you considered adoption? Its a harsh sacrifice to be childless when other have multiple kids. I think we should at least support and sustaine the people who are living on this earth while we can work on the solutions to prevent over-population.

Thanks for the comment! Adoption is a possibility far down the road; we will adopt older, hard to place kids if/when we do. Listen to some of Thom Hartman's archives on this topic; besides antibiotics/sterile method, the next biggest reason population exploded 100 years ago was fossil fuels.

You are the type of bigoted (I mean, Mormons? Huh?), pro-death-rate-increase loudmouth who gets the entire movement shoved aside. I think the human population can be paralleled with a high school yeast experiment. The one where you add a couple grains of yeast to sugar water, and they grow and prosper until their population chokes themselves to death on their own waste products. That is what humanity has to look forward to. In my eyes, the sooner, the better.

No one is suggesting culling anything but additional humans through family planning. All I personally want is to stop human sperm from fertalizing human eggs unless both humans involved specifically intend for that particular sexual act to result in an additional human. Regardless of religion or nationality it's been proven women restrict their family size based on their economics when they're given the contraceptive tools to do so.

We like to fool ourselves to spare the dread, but from what I have researched we kill more people today in the world then the wars of the Ancients could ever do. This could be because we have more people on Earth but most universities are pumping out population controllers and dehumanizing us into statistics. Humans are more than ever split into dividing camps and the new god is money and power.

Hi. In my experience, university life prepares people to see themselves as more intelligent than average (sometimes rightly so) and to breed and produce more of the perceived "good stock" to combat the "ignorant masses." This does not seem as if it encourages, much less "pumps out" population control advocates. Keep in mind that many things other than education can have the same effect, and that this is not meant to disparage universities.

I agree with some of what you said (on Murdoch) although I haven't seen that movie. However the western mindset and mass media is generally anti-child hence the very low bithrates. I think eventually every western country will resemble Latin America, Africa and the middle east as low european birthrates and mass immigration transform all western nations.

Overpopulation is absolutely a worldwide issue but America should follow the Asian lead of social and economic stigma for those that choose to pollute the Earth with too much of their own DNA.

if everyone stuck to having no more than 2 children for the next 50 years we would see an enormous rise in the quality of our environments. However this must be in combination with an increase in the use of renewable sources of resources and energy plus a drop in the use of non-renewable and unsustainable sources. I'm certainly all for it.

Why should the President have any anti-freedom interest in imposed unpopular human population "control?" If the population expands, the corporations like the bigger profits and sales that could bring. The government gets a larger base of taxpayers.
And if the U.S. really is "the home of the free and brave," as one of our patriotic songs claims, then how can we possibly be scared of a little natural human population growth?

More people does indeed mean more taxes can be collected by the govt but they also have to be shared round MORE people so your logic is flawed. You are forgetting about the law of diminishing returns too. The U.S. is overpopulated and will remain so as long as the average persons way of life is unsustainable.

I am pro-life but i agree the world is over populated. So here is how we solve this problem. Anyone who is a convicted sex offender, murderer, or felon of any kind (this to include illegal aliens) needs to be sent in for immediate castration. Not only would this reduce the population but it would also reduce the spawning of more bad genes. However I am not for abortion. Castrate Criminals!

Not true; since the republicans took over American aid no longer goes to overseas groups that do things like distribute condoms and perform abortions. Earned income credit could be phased out, discouraging breeding. Immigrants could be encouraged in various ways to not breed.
Besides all that, just working for women's rights in other countries and supporting their right to family planning (which they do not have in muslim homes) always reduces the number of children per woman.
