Yes it is true i made that statement which i have experience with a lot of yoruba women. i realized my statement was general and i should of explained more in detail in what i meant. first i would like to say, is that when i made that statement about southerners being tribal it meant they one i meet prefer themselves and some even show it to me. i was very disappointed due to the fact my husband is half yoruba and i personally did care because i looked at Nigerians as one.

Growing up in America does not prove anything. There's a nigerian american igbo girl who have a dislike of yoruba's. You grew up in Nigeria, why is it so much misunderstanding between people is it because of people suffering so much from politicians not taking care of their people. I believe the problem come from the leadership selfish behavior but again i could be wrong.
Nigerians leaders have alot to do with it but another main fact is the history of tribes residing in Nigeria. Alot of tribes in Nigeria did not associate well since the beginning of their existence (the three main tribes is a perfect example). Forcing a group of people who did not like each into a small land (Nigeria) and then leaving them in there to get along will take years, maybe even a century before each start trusting each other.
So, is that the reason why i was treated badly by some Nigerian because of the history between the tribes. All my family members married out of their tribes and i hope one day people get along. I am happy that they let Goodluck be the president since he was the VP that was the correct since he was next in line.
Another thing i've noticed nollywood also have a hand in promoting this disunity. For example, anyone from the north showcased in their movie must either be a stereotypical "corrupt politician" or stereotypical "gateway or aboki", there is never an in between. As we can see from the child witches, there are alot of Nigerians who can not tell the difference between reality and movie reality.
Another beliefs i'm aware of is each tribe and each regions of nigerian believe the politicians are favoring a specific tribe or a region over the others and their hardship is worse than whatever specific tribe or region they believe the politicians are favoring. That seem also promote this disunity and dislike we view from Nigerian tribes.

Yes it is true i made that statement which i have experience with a lot of yoruba women. i realized my statement was general and i should of explained more in detail in what i meant. first i would like to say, is that when i made that statement about southerners being tribal it meant they one i meet prefer themselves and some even show it to me. i was very disappointed due to the fact my husband is half yoruba and i personally did care because i looked at Nigerians as one.

Growing up in America does not prove anything. There's a nigerian american igbo girl who have a dislike of yoruba's. In one of her videos, i'm not sure if she deleted it,she insulted Yoruba's and got offended when ppl told her she reminded them of one. Another nigerian-american igbo boy replied to her video promoting unity and he was attacked by alot of nigerian-americans.

Nigerians leaders have alot to do with it but another main fact is the history of tribes residing in Nigeria. Alot of tribes in Nigeria did not associate well since the beginning of their existence (the three main tribes is a perfect example). Forcing a group of people who did not like each into a small land (Nigeria) and then leaving them in there to get along will take years, maybe even a century before each start trusting each other.

For example, anyone from the north showcased in their movie must either be a stereotypical "corrupt politician" or stereotypical "gateway or aboki", there is never an in between. Another beliefs i'm aware of is each tribe and each regions of nigerian believe the politicians are favoring a specific tribe or a region over the others and their hardship is worse than whatever specific tribe or region they believe the politicians are favoring. That seem also promote this disunity and dislike we view from Nigerian tribes.

I do believe the politicians are the ones pro longing the unity though. They give people reason to have that animosity. They give people the reason not to forgot those history. They allow our indifference to overcome how we think. For example, (this might offend you a bit and i do apologize in advance), recently the new lagos governor deported northerns, not all just the poor ones, living in Lagos all because they do no fall under his category of what a lagosian should be.

Personally, i did not like that idea. I love the Lagos governor and his everyother ideas except the deporting idea and of cause the banning of okada. I've already told why i didn't like the deporting idea because why deport based on the fact that they are poor, why kick them back to their hometown instead of helping them. Delta State was carved out of the former Bendel State in 1991 The state was created following agitations for the creation of separate distinct states by the urhobos and Anioma regions. The oil producing area is the NIGER-DELTA. If we have to divide Delta for oil, the Ijaws riverine will benefit before Anioma region which you Anambras want. Do u know Ondo State oil is yet to be tapped? We waiting for the Delta to outrun its oil in a couple of years then you can have it i.e if they let you..LMAO.
