I think these zombies are scarier than Romero's. Instead of the whole consumer society parable, they're these scary dead things that are being animated by evil forces. Maybe it's just the way they have closed eyes, they don't seem human.

Another thing I find pretty cool about this flick, .. the zombies in it not only look more realistic and scarry , but are even better portrayed than in most other flicks. How they dont leer and make alot of noise ( go "Ehhhh!! .. Ehhhhh!! .. Ehhhhh!!! ) but are kind of silent with no facial expresion. They seem to kind of sneak up on people and then bite them, .. which I think makes them creepier and more frightening .

But the doctor believed there was some obscure and elusive "scientific" explanation, .. but neither are confirmed in the story ( could be either ). And the disease was what was killing the people in the first place before they turned into zombies.

I must coment, however, that I dont think that a mere bite of the cheek would be fatal.
