  • Sad that Sidney Torch who conducted lots of delightful, ingenious light must, most with the Queens Hall Light Orchestra, would commit suicide.

    But God Bless the lovely work he did. Yes, he was also a conductor. I see a ton of other Brit light music here, too, to the right of the frame, that I've never heard before! CHEERS!

  • This is not from the CD "HOT PIPES" by PHRCO. This album's name is: "All Strings and Fancy Free". Beachcomper was composed by Clive Richardson and is played by the Sidney Torch Orechstra in 1947. His legendary theatre organ mastery (Regal Marble Arch, the Regal Edmonton and the Gaumont State, Kilburn etc.) dates from the time before the war.
