  • 1983 was the best year EVER in entertainment... music, video, movies, TV, etc... just the best.

  • it is not live!

  • i also loved the album cover. it was criticized at the time but to me it is iconic diana. its interesting that rhianna used red in one of her biggest hits. she also does a diana pose up on those rocks. diana is an icon and has influenced people more than the current stars care to admit.

  • I loved this song...Diana was ahead of her time. Lady Gaga is doing this stuff today and selling millions. I thought the entire Ross album was great. And the album cover was amazing.

  • @dumbthings1970 i love gaga. she reminds me so much of diana in her heyday. slim, proud, great in concert.

  • WELL for those who didnt know it, YES SHE DID. I was the lucky one being there, not to mention that it was the 2nd day because the day before it was pouring raining and they cancel the show, and ppl got hurt, because it was over crouded. SCARY!, BUT THEN SHE ANOUNCE A 2ND DAY FREE CONCERT FOR NYC. IT WAS AMAIZING, LUV IT! SHE ROCK EVERYONE IN THERE, EVEN WITH THIS SONG WICH IT WAS A HIT BACK IN THE 80'S, THANK YOU! LIVE DIANNA 4EVAH!

  • Oh no she didn't do this in Central Park.....OMG.

  • this song makes no sense, you can tell the audience didn't know what to think but they weren't digging it neither did they buy it later. poor diane, she was so lost at this point in her career... without berry gordy making decisions about her career she made one dumb choice after another and sunk her own career. what a shame she was the best of the best at one time.

  • @whatigot2say but don't forget this is also the time when the negativity about diana was getting a strong hold. news of what supposedly happened at motown 25 was all over the place. mary started to tell people about her pending book and some early ideas from that book were being talked about. then when the book was released and mary did her rounds, that signalled the end for diana. no-one has ever really got over it.

  • @wonderboyjoy maybe some, but she had nearly a million people come to see her live, that nearly no one alive has been able to surpass.really what happened is she peaked after this concert there was no where else for her to go, what else could she do? she was mega successful in every area of her career. She was also entering her 40's and Americans don't/didn't take too kindly to 40 something singers. amazingly she's still performing pushing 70 but in much smaller venues.

  • @whatigot2say what you say is also true. how could she ever top this. also the music world was changing with heaps of new artists and sounds. europe was really getting into electonic stuff and as you say diana was getting older. she had been around for such a long time i think people just got a little tired of her. she did have hits in europe, asia and australia after this. even though she plays smaller venues i would see her in an instant if i could. have a good day.

  • @wonderboyjoy yeh she did do her superbowl show with 10's of millions of viewers, of course it was one of the most spectacular shows of all time... she also performed for some huge events in europe/uk, with 10's of millions of viewers etc. but the aging thing was a reality that she had to accept. I'd go see her today too, her shows are getting rave reviews, she knows how to entertain.

  • @whatigot2say Check out Diana's 2009 Symphony In Rosso live concert here on You Tube.

That's like a football stadium so I would not call that "smaller venues". lol

  • @realhiphop3000 i meant venues in the USA. most of her venues are less than 5K with an occassional larger venue thrown in.

  • WWWWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFF!!

  • Great song. Crank it on record. I LOVE DIANE!!

  • Never understood why this track didn't do better. Has remained one of my all time favorite Diana singles. The "Ross" album was great as well.

  • @dumbthings1970 I agree . . .this is one of my all-time favorites too . . .

  • @paul51 xxxxxxxxxx You have taste xxxxxxxxx

  • Should've been a hit. I was at the Radio City show last month and someone called out this song as a request.

  • DIVA

  • she looks like she's audtioning for the role of cat woman.

  • Diana dances with such elegance and grace. This is her special quality. She is mesmerizing to watch.

  • wow.. i never thought miss ross could dance!..

    what an elegant move!

    love this song...

    love diana!...

  • Trouble in PARADISE XXX

  • @eleiordache 800000

  • Great Song, incredible performance. Where did all the great tunes go?

  • Despite the few flaws / missteps in Diana's dancing, this is, nevertheless, one of my all-time favorite performances by Diana. Thanks for the share.

  • p.s.

i guess you can't sing with a mic doing all those moves. back in the eighties they didn't have remote mic.

  • Well, yea, true, but that thing reminds me of the 1979-concert by Kate Bush performing live at the Hammersmith Odeon "Wuthering Heights" wearing a pseudo-headset built of a small mic and a seems-to-be do-it-urself thing...lol...

  • @CaroVonAuersfeld diana often mimed at least one song in her concerts. she even made fun of it in af ew concerts and it is recorded on her live at caesars palace album of the early 70's. i think it was often for a breather or for a costume change. she probably wanted her current single to sound as good as it could.

  • @victormatell -lmao at remote / um eurythmics - howard jones - devo - etc

  • @victormatll Actually, they did have remote mics at this time. Synth artist Howard Jones is seen using them at his concerts as early as '83.

  • this was step for step the video - not a step out of place! Just missing the girls.... wow! But lip-sync'd
