  • Use a xbox 360 vga cable for best results on a xbox. : )

  • Just picked the 100'' up at target for $90 (clearence).

  • why does yours say only 60 inchs but other one says 100

  • @itouchipadz4you - not sure which other one you mean. 60 inches is what we consider reasonable for viewing. You can make it larger, but it will be fainter.

  • @mrslothguy I use this with my Xbox 360. It works just fine. You just have to do some work when adjusting it. If you are not used to playing Xbox 360 on a projector it will take some time getting used to it. :D Its pretty beast.

  • Want a great looking movie with this projector? I like these settings with MPC-HC.

    From View Dropdown Menu-->

    Renderer Settings: Output Range: 16-235 Color Management: Enabled Ambient Light: Dark Rendering Intent: Absolute Colorimetric

    From Play DropDown Menu-->

    Shaders-->Combine Shaders: sharpen complex 2 16-235 -> 0-255 [SD][HD] deinterlace (blend)

    Filters-->MPEG-2 Video Decoder: Brightness 31 Contrast 164% Hue 11 Saturation 147%

  • Wish you could edit your posts...I meant Relative Colorimetric not Absolute Colorimetric (Absolute is pretty vibrant but as usual ends up adding color where it shouldn't be).

    Beyond that change, tweak the contrast and saturation to fit the movie type, and enjoy.

  • Have used this a while now. Although the projector itself is widescreen, it will only display 4:3 and scale it (stretch out) to widescreen aspect ratio. You will get the clearest image from 640x480@60Hz, which is also the only res that looks good stretched out.

    If you still want widescreen without squashing the image, it's best to just output 640x480 stretched, and use programs that can do manual image adjustments such as Boxee and Media Player Classic.

    With an XBox360, use VGA at 640x480.

  • Does anyone recommend this for an xbox360 ?

  • Bought this projector at Target a week or so ago for $167. For the price, you can't beat it. Does not do great with HD video games (ie: Xbox360) when it comes to sharpness. But if you want to hitch it to your laptop, WII, or SD cable feed, it looks great. I was prepared to take it back before I even bought it with low expectations, but was pleased and kept it.

  • Seriously, if you have around $500 to spend, buy the LG HS201 LED Projector. That projector has an HDMI input, USB, analog input & VGA. Well worth the $500! I have one setup in my living room and use it everyday for my tv/gaming/movies. All on a 92" screen. Trust me, forget this piece of junk and go for the LG HS201.

  • @hottdogg1978 wow, big difference between $167 and $500

  • Has anyone tried hooking up an Xbox 360 or laptop via VGA?

  • @KOAB Xbox isn't sharp (Which you should expect were it is not HD) and when hitched to my laptop, in my opinion it looks great. Also when hitched to TV SD Quality and sometimes HD it looks very good. I am pleased with it for the price.

  • Now the questions/comments.

    854x480 seems like an odd resolution, so maybe the specs mislabel it, and it is actually 848x480 (XBox 360 supports that res, btw)? I will test later to see if that image is scaled.

    Seems like this is only available in Target stores, not even on their website. There's also very little about it online, other than a TI press release. I want to ask the manufacturer how to output the native res, so does anybody know who makes this thing?

  • Now the not so good:

    First, there's no component video input, only composite. So you won't get the highest quality progressive image from a DVD player or the Wii.

    If you want the best image, use the VGA input. The problem with that, though, is the projector lists its native res at 854x480. Few video cards allow this resolution and the XBox360 doesn't either. Adding the resolution manually gives an image which cuts off the left side. Therefore the output is always scaled, not 1:1.

  • Bought one at Target. It's nice.

    Two posts, first the good:

    Very bright compared to a pico projector but doesn't compare to an expensive one. A daylit room is too bright (image and colors wash out), but in a dark or ambient room you can easily watch a movie with it. The fan is pretty quiet and the screen can be rotated if you want to hang it upside-down. Resolution is 854x480. If you want a 4:3 image, just change the projector setting from "stretch" to "normal" and you'll be at 640x480.

  • Just bought it today at target, I have a 110" screen... It looked horrible , especially on Black ops.. Cuts off top and bottom of screen... already returned it.... just a heads up, Guess I gotta drop $2000 and do it right...

  • we need a complete review of this projector. I am dieing to have one

  • No sound.

    Not that it is really needed.

    Even $500 seems a bit much in price.

    Really now for over 10 years the normal projectors never lowered in price.....sad

  • @inachu $167 at target right now (the main reason I'm watching this video)

  • @riothero313 same here!

  • I live in Alabama. I am wondering how I may be able to purchace one of these even though they are only selling in southern california. Could you help me because I am serious about purchasing one. I have already gone to my local target and called up the corprate target number and they talked to me like i was crazy because nowhere in their system does this product come up. Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • @Ac8baller - Thanks for commenting and I'm glad you're excited about the product. Let me see what I can find out.

    -Lisa at DLP
