my child does this, and has done this since she was born. she's 4 now. she's not mentally ill, doesn't have autism, nothing is wrong with her. the reason she does this is because when she was little i used to put her in her swing (that swung front to back and side to side) to sleep because she has colic. she was soothed by the rocking motion. if the batteries died, she would rock it herself in her sleep. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS CHILD nor will there be. Stop being so critical!

My brother used to rock his head back like that all the time before he went to sleep as a child. He used to do it against his door and it would make noise. My mom had to put a coat rack there so he would stop. He did it anyway and it left red spots. He did it so much that the back of his head is completely flat to this day. He is 24 and insecure about his mishapen head.

I was raised by great parents with lots of attention. But sometimes im so involved with what im doing i try my hardest not to nod off. I could be reading a book, surfing the net or at a 3 day music festival. My head keeps falling,i begin to nod off, my body needs rest. But I FIGHT IT!
