  • I love that they misspelled his name that shows up at the bottom of the screen in the beginning. Thats hilarious. Dwight is the best.

  • Great stuff...

  • My father out-law plays this at the parties hooo whoo!!!

  • His voice is perfect for singin country music! Dwight Yoakam FTW! :D

  • denvereddennis has shared a video with you on YouTube:

  • OMG, this is great! If it's true his b-year is '56 that'd make him 29/30 in this vid... but doesn't he look younger?

  • tan 66 19/20 1985 Santana

  • Dwight is the best! I love the voice, the music, and that hat!!!

  • Back for another view. He does the best version of Swinging Doors I ever heard.

  • Dwight is still my favorite country singer, while country music has been over ran by cowboy hat wearing sell out pop stars, he still maintains the integrity of country music, and reminds us all what it should be.

  • either way....but I think you're wrong....sounds and looks like him to me :)

  • @searat666 dude u definetly know whats up

  • @searat666 dude u know whats up

  • @searat666

    that would be the truth!

  • Dwight KICKS ASS!!

  • I saw Dwight on stage about five years ago. The steel guitar was used infrequently. Mainly he sang the old songs but with a more rock orientated backing, It was disapointing. I do wish we could have suspended him in time circa 1985ish. Thanks for this great posting.

    Fletch

  • Yoakam's music never was too steel-influenced...most of that sound was done by Pete Anderson on his telecaster. Rock infused backing or not, he's still more county than most (if not all) of the crap on country radio nowadays.

  • King of Country........

  • Dwight Yoakam will always be one of the greatest Honky Tonk singers of our time. A man of many talents. And with that cute smile... he has melted many a girls hearts! He sure has mine.

  • Dwight has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, placing him in an elite cadre of global superstars.

  • Hey man. Everyone knows Vince is the mainman, but Yoakam is true country and a great fucking songwriter.

Sincere as they come. Don't let the posing and dungies fool ya. I'm no fag, but you know what they say, "If you got it..flaunt it." And he's got it. In spades.

    The chicks love him.

But he is as real as real country gets IMO.

  • ! of the best guitar pickers ever!

  • Your fake Hollywood crap is from eastern Kentucky and never fell for the Hollywood crap. Dwight thrived on the Bakersfield sound and was THEE biggest Buck Owens (Mr. Bakersfield himself) fan EVER. You were half right - yes, Merle is great.

  • Well hell fire man! FKing bad A55!

  • Its an oldie but a goodie.. Yoakam is the man....

  • love the real & live feel, seems less "canned" than todays's packaged CD versions.

  • Dwight Fucking rules, Love to hear him add his own flavor to the King of Country Merel Haggard.

  • Sling Blade, great movie. Dwight is in a lot of movies. The man is awesome.

  • Agreed, 100%

  • PBS. awesome

  • Dwight does it all. Country,Hillbilly,Rockabilly,

    Bluegrass,Jazz, Rock,folk. Jackson might be

    king? But he's not Dwight!

  • And he can really act. Have you seen him in SlingBlade? One of the best movies i've ever seen. Especially the part where he plays Doyle.

  • DY is real.

It's cute when he says - (well hellfire man) lol :D Love it!!!

  • I love it. What a great performance.

  • Dwight can cover my tunes anytime he wants. I figure Haggard, and Cash, would see that the bro knows a good country song. Great post bro. Thanks eh!

    lowlifer

  • dwight yet again, let merle sing this one please, your good but not that damn good

  • Ouch...You realize he's a huge Cash and Merle fan and you probably shouldn't critize him for having a little fun with an old standard. I'll take that over just reproducing the same song. At least it has a little personality on it. You must love his version of Ring of Fire then??

  • why do you even care? no really, just curious? I think he's just havin some fun here. Why don't you post a vid of yourself singin some Merle for all of us to judge? I can go on all night in E :)

  • "Well, hells fire man, if you want us to stop just say so" Love to see his personality shine thru...

  • Pure Eastern Ky. singing, sitting on the front porch. Sing on Mr. Yoakam...
