I had this phone for almost a year. I loved it. I took it to Europe with me. They switched the SIM card over to vodaphone, and it worked great. It's a very routine kind of phone. If you do the same stuff with it all the time. But this phone does not like surprises. 3rd party apps can make it lock up or corrupt it. So be aware. But it's still a great phone
@7229willy I don't know what you mean by unlock? If you mean to make it so you can use it on other networks, why would I want you to put it on a network other than Verizons?
@7229willy hey if u still have not found out how to unlock it go onto google and type in blackberry unlocking service. then fill in all of the information and then they will generate an unlock code. next go into options, advanced options then sim card. once u have done that on ur keypad type mepd and then a different screen should pop up then write still on the keypad mep2 when u click the number 2 hold alt then click it in the box that will be provided put in the code and u are unlocked.
my take is it gets dirty and hangs up so you have to clean it a lot. the tour 2 is due out shortly and I think its going to have a track pad so that'll eliminate that problem.
Hi. I have a curve 8330 on alltel.I want a Tour. Is there a big difference in the 2 or should I wait for a newer bb to come out. What I mean is, is the Tour a lot better than the 8330? Thanks
how do i block my caller id on all outgoing calls? i know u can *67 but that's for each time u make a call. iphone u can block ur # from showing when u make calls...can we do it with a tour? help!
A little too quick and disjointed review. Too much fiddling, flipping, and fussing with the phone . . need to be more organized and systematic. Also, remove the plastic cover on the screen if you're trying to show the phone. JMO
this question is probably out of left field but i might as well look at these type of videos for the blackberry tour on verizon rite? cuz its basically the same exact phone on the sprint network also
Basically all Blackberru=ies are pretty similat. They may differ slightly from one carrier to the next-for example one carrier may have WiFi on a specific model while another carrier doesn';t have it on that same model. So even if you are on Sprint you should be able to follow along with your Blackberry.
Yes, I just checked it out on my co-workers Tour. Watch my video "Verizon Wireless VCast Song ID available for the Storm" its the exact same procedure for the Tour.
I will make a video on that today. The only BB I have access to right now is the Pearl Flip but all BB's functions are the same. Sorry, I should have done one on messaging. Thanks for questioning it!
returned this as well as the Storm and got the I-Phone - this thing as well as the Storm is outdated garbage ; lag, lockups, SLOW browser, battery pulls?
You'd be better off with the HTC OZone on VZW than the Tour or even the LG Env Touch - the call quality on lockups on the Storm sent me running for Apple - best move I ever made and the 3GS network is unreal.
why don't you give us a demo of how bad the text messaging works on this phone. I can't believe that I have to go into the message, click the menu button, click reply, type the message, click menu again, then finally click send. OMG. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? That has to be done for every thing text message. I know text messaging is popular so I wanted everyone to know that you SHOULD NOT get a Blackberry tour if you text.
Is this your first Blackberry? All Blackberry's are like that. Same procedure for all of them. They have a very different operating system If its any consolation, on the last two clicks you can just hit menu twice as sent is already highlighted at that point.
Yeah I know all BB are like that. It's time they updated that part of their products. They are way behind in that area even compared to non smart phones. Its a $500 phone, fix it, is all I saying. They should implement a solution when they release the tour/wifi. Another mistake they made on this phone. Everything else on the phone is fine.
O i thought wen wanting 2 send out a txt u culd just hit the trackball wen ur done typing n hit send [cause its usually highlighted wen u do that]......
I love my blackberry tour!! Prior to recieving my lovely package in the mail, I watched your videos and they helped me figure out how to use it since I am a new blackberry user. Thank you for your thorough and clear video! =)
You are welcome. Blackberries are a little intimidating until; you get used to them after a few days. So that's cool that you are loving it. Its a great smartphone.
Yes. I believe you highlight the icon then tap the Blackberry icon (Menu) , select move and it'll show you the icon with four directional arrows around it. Move it to the top and it'll push something off the homescreen. You can move them all around like that and rearrange it as you see fit.
What do you think about the screen size? Does the black border around the screen annoy you (the very tiny square surrounding the screen)? I was sort of hoping that the screen would take up as much real-estate as possible.
Well, hard to say. Coming off using a Storm it does strike me as small. But if you consider that its not a touch screen and the keys have to take up some room, I think its a pretty good balance. To tell you the truth, It didn't really occur to me that there was a black square around the screen and I used it all day yesterday so I guess if it didn't occur to me, it didn't bother me,
I'm reviewing the Ozone and it just occured to me that it has the same box. Honestly, they all do. I guess that's why it didn't occur to me. I just looked at the Storm, the Ozone, the Tour, the enVTouch, and the Versa. They all have it. Some wider than others. But the Ozone, Tour and Storm are all about the same thickness. Would be nicer to have actual live screen there though, you're totally right about that.
They are two very different devices. The Blackberry is a Smartphone and runs on a completely different operating system than the LG enVTouch. Comparing a Smartphone to a feature phone is almost like comparing a cell phone to a laptop. Blackberry are more expensive (device and rate plans) and for that reason they used to be more of a business device. They are becoming more popular to the general public but still very different than a feature phone.

how would i clean it, do i need to clean with rubbing alcohol with a q-tip?
RobTightSwaggaSaah 2 years ago
yeah, that'd be my suggestion. Go light on the alcohol, so its not so wet on the Q-tip that its dripping with alcohol.
