Coke is pure caramel. It will make the porous wood inside your pipe sticky and gunky, just like it might your own fingers or your hair.
I clean my pipes with neutral grain alcohol, the kind you buy in a pharmacy. "Rubbing" alcohol. It has no flavour to impart to your pipe, and evaporates quickly, so the pipe dries out faster than with anything else.
You're very well educated, I'm impressed! I thought I was one of only a handful of Americans that realized our government still puts tariffs on cane sugar. It dates back to like the great depression! My grandpap always bought 91% isopropyl alcohol to clean his pipe! It cost like 97 cents at Walmart and Target!
don't use coke.....go to your nearest liquor store and get a small bottle of everclear ...it works the best....for dirty pipes anyway....just don't drink it....its gut rot.....best of luck....cheers
Nice pipe! I wouldn't use Coke either. For the most part, a good pipe cleaner does just fine. If you aren't sure, use a very bristly pipe cleaner instead of the normal ones. Great video. Cheers!
oh - coke in Mexico is brown cane sugar, but regardless I don't think I would use coke cause its sticky as all hell. I bet it would leave a strange residue!
Lol wtf. Who gives a shit about pipes xDDDD

The older, well-aged briar is more porous and so, LIGHTER. The more porous, the cooler and dryer the pipe will smoke.
Dense, heavy briar does not let air in or humidity out, so it smokes hot and wet.

Very nice, elegant pipe. Enjoy it in health.

Yeah, I much prefer Coke with cane sugar. Otherwise I'll completely endorse pipemannow's comment.

maybe when something is light it transfers heat faster and then the heat gets to the surface and disappates faster ?? I don't know for sure

i imagine its because theres less mass for the heat to travel through and so it feels hotter faster, to the hands at least.
