Honestly, u needed to take ur time with this piece. It's not meant to be played that fast. It is a fast piece, but u played it as if u were in a rushed when its supposed to be played at a certain pace, not to fast not to slow. Also u would have made less mistakes if u were to play that song slower in the right pace. Anyway, u still did a pretty good job.

It most definitely is a song. A song does not need lyrics. Although normally it isn't called song; a piece for that matter. Regardless of what MadCeceWong said, I believe you did an amazing job. However, I do agree more feeling should be put into this piece. Im not saying you did not put any, but, judging from the sound, it appears your own emotions of the piece itself is not in there.

TH3NaSs did a great version too as I went to have a listen. I'm not a beginner, I can sight read quite well, tommyk77 and can play masses of different tunes. Perhaps I should be making my own music. Yes the Duke is another hero, and Black Coffee a treat!

Well, thankyou TommyK77 You've definitely got a gift. It took me 10years to learn a trill. After twenty years of playing, I'm still try to grasp the timing, My fingers have turned arthritic in the process and my hair turned grey, I have also developed some bad habits like crossing my legs while at the piano and slurping coffee!

It doesn't say much for my playing then, because 20 years on, it took me ten years to learn to play a trill. Now I feel ashamed of myself!!! I've always had an inflated view musicians..Bow Wow... They're all geniuses, Lets face I'm jealous, I'm getting arthritic learning!

TommyK77 how long did it take you to learn this piece, and how many years have you been playing and did you teacher mark your music with the finger structure. As I always seem to make mistakes. Also what sort of video did you use to do the filming.

I'm convinced I've go to learn from everyone here.. My hands seem to stick to the keys because i get nervous about making mistakes, does anyone else have this problem?

@PDN11141 I'd been playing for about 2 years when i recorded this. I'm completely self-taught, but I've had classical guitar lessons from the age of 10 to 16 (21 now and still going).

Fingering is a bit of an issue with me too. Sometimes I'm a bit inconsistent. Just take time to work out the best fingering for you then practice it over and over with a metronome, then you can add your own take on the tempo.

Get it right four times for every one time played wrong is what I was taught :-P

I hate seeing people pointing out the mistakes, obviously pianists know what mistakes they made.
