I saw an anti-Phoenix technique with Spider-man's Ultimate Web throw, a move which ONLY connects with airborne opponents so the iron-clad validity of THIS technique remains to be proven. I'll test it.

the spiderman combo actually involves using a maximum spider, which everything is done in the air. when spiderman delivers the last blow, if she still has life, she would hit the floor, but if that hits when she has 0, right when the animation ends, she is actually still airborne and transforms then. Spiderman just has to xfactor then do the UWT. that is a guaranteeed DP kill btw.

now you bring up an interesting concept, right when transform, tag out. test it! looks very viable!

@jfari101 That's actually what I do. Once she's on the ground for the transformation, I tag out. The way I use Phoenix, I have five bars by 89 secs and I tag her in. My opponent either has to fight and kill her, watch her kill his team or snap her out to avoid turning her. That way, I have Dark Phoenix early, plus my other characters so I just tag her out and leave her for later. I'll test it.

If you do it to late then she can jump out of it obviously and to early might not even work, im not to sure, never happened to me yet. But all this is, is timing. Compared to some other timing moves, this doesnt require to much timing skill. But this whole game is timing and combos so timing shouldn't even be an issue.

I think it is because Raging demon is a throw, and does not activate on a characters pre jump frames, and I think phoenix can go directly into a pre-jump frame directly from activating dark phoenix on the ground.

The success of achieving this in actual battle is determined by your distance from phoenix, because her rebirth works like an advance guard. if you're too close to her, you'll get damage and be thrown on the other side of the screen . I've also done this using morrigan's lvl3 darkness illusion when phoenix was in attack mode in training.
