  • 4 ize- hard to quit the rhyme

  • @bobbihumphrey I first saw Bobbi Humphrey on theTonight Show in the early 70's or late 60's. Johnny Carson invited her up from the audience and she blew everybody away. Ms Humphrey was then offered and played with Doc Severson's band the rest of that night. Ms Humphrey could you please confirm or clarify this story for me. I have been a fan ever since. Oh by the way I purchased this LP three times, the first 2 were stolen. Still groovin with you. Thank you for creating memories for us.

  • THIS ALL I JAM!!!!!

  • 1 of the best jazz lp n its day. man, can SHE BLOW.

  • Bobbi Humphery what a dynamic flutist, with her gorgeous daughter on the album cover. She has to be at least 38 years old. Wow, been that long ago?

  • @CrymeTymePhilly Crime Time.I knew Bobbi had been around for some time so I checked. She was born April 25 1950 :)

  • A magnificent End-of-Summer song.

  • The ultimate "highway" song!

  • I remember Common sampled this on one of his songs on his debut album "Can I Borrow a Dollar"

  • Great song, respect to Bobbi, but she straight up looks like a man in this picture...

  • @21theworld21

  • Met her at Mobay Restaurant in NYC. What a beautiful sister!

  • Awesome Fro, Bro-ette.

  • One of the best I played my Lp to death had a hard time but finally found it on cd

Waht is she up to now would love to hear something from her

  • can you belive this was from 73!

  • THE SOUND TRACK OF MY LIFE

THIS IS ONE SERIOUS JAM FROM BACK IN THE DAY..

  • Listen to the MUSIC, LOVE the MUSIC, Learn to RESPECT the MUSIC... E-Nuff Said.

  • Comment removed

  • Careful, grasshopper! Before you know it, you're going to be old, too! I promise! Where will your respect be then?

  • @MsYogib: PREACH ! Wouldn't it be great if today's music arose simply from concept? noooo, no-one can play an instrument anymore & grooves that are up to 40-45 years old HAVE to be used. Wow! Now THAT'S talent! What I want to know is...what will future generations do when all the "host" songs have been used? Translation: if you want to create a track, better start dusting off those metronomes & open up a book. To the younguns': don't get all indignant...in 20 years, you'll see 4yourself !

  • Im tired of these old motherfuckers saying that sampling is stealng. We are paying respect to your generations music so show us young folks some respect in return, peace out.

  • @LawrinMaxwellsmpc500 Just wait until someone sample one of your BEST jams and you'll be in groove then you'll realize someone has stepped all over some of your best tracks and it ain't your track then you'll feel like why they mess that up ...now that they sampling where are all the new young musicans come in to play...the art is to bring in a new sound...but I think they must be brain dead because they are sampling ... we should've new sounds each week ...Go ask George Clinton or James Brown,

  • @Jammon2009 I know what your saying though and I aint trying to be disrespectful I just thing there is two sides to any opinion.

  • @Jammon2009 Lots of great work has been done with sampling and a lot of it really is a new sound, completely different from the source it was sampled from. Lots of producers work closely with "real" musicians to produce totally new work.

Music is just an arrangement of sounds. Any sounds can be used to compose it.

  • to DEV17cmd, if your dad is still playing this (SHIT!!) in his car - He is a Good Brother!!

    Listen to that man. LOL!!

  • black is beautiful dont deform urself into thinking your white

  • @dmok420 you are an idiot . colour of your skin does not come into it.

  • Excellent quality upload .. makes my desktop pc speakers sound like an auditorium... okay then, they are Bose speakers but still....

  • @Realness97 BOSE is where it's at...lol

  • I'm really feeling this song! FRESH!

  • PAY ATTENTION YOU LIL YOUNG MUFUCCAS !! THIS IS REAL MUSIC, PURE INSTRUMENTATION, NO COMPUTER SHIT, JUS MAN, INSTRUMENTS AND MUSIC!! REALLY LISTEN TO EVERY NOTE AN YOU WILL THEN KNOW WHAT MUSIC IS!! THERES NOT ONE THING AFTER 1999, THAT I CAN CONSIDER REAL MUSIC!!

  • @DAGUTTA100 That keeps coming up! The fact that I can't remember any really great music that has come out since the 90's and others keep saying the same thing. I dont what it is. I know it has alot to do with the technology age and digitalized music. I love hip hop but I start to hate sampling and the overuse of computers to make music. What happened to real session playing, jamming, and LIVING your music. Guys back then were great at their respective instrumentalists but they LIVED the music.

  • @atl2maryland hey don"t 4get the girls lol ;-)

  • @atl2maryland you just gotta leave the US its still poppin off...

  • @fatangel420 I think you are right but there are spots in the U.S. that still have a thriving subculture and music scene. Nashville Tenn has a unique sound and music scene that they stay true to for one. Many bigger cities have given in to the glamour of the "Rock star" life to the point where the music is third to the money fashion etc

  • @DAGUTTA100 You oughtta check out the stuff that Daptone Records are putting out. Check out Charles Bradley "The World Is (Going Up In Flames)" - backed by the equally wonderful Menahan Street Band. Budos Band might also be up your alley too, the label backs a ton of great artists, check them out!

  • The Mizell brothers and their cohorts just created great music...

  • Why do I listen to this song, everyday?! Lol..

  • I love her music!!! My mother used to play Bobbi's music all the time when I was about 4 or 5 years old. Thank God for music like this. It is excellent!!!

  • painting pictures with sound. a beautiful piece of music.

  • Wow.. I can't even purchase this song on I-Tunes! Smh..

  • @BklynJayL send me you e-mail address, and i will send you the whole album---bedsty for life....

  • This song, to me, is a perfect example of a sound scape type song. Meaning a song you can close your eyes and visualize riding your car, bike or just taking a walk in the park in the summer or winter. Grown folk music does that to you.lol.

  • @vscol Man, this is what's missing from today's "mainstream" music.

  • N!!!!!!!!!CE + THANK U

  • I remember my older sister listening to this and I was like who is that! I start off kind smooth and then I gets all rough at the end! That's a musical seduction because they are just singing about a street but the sound blends with it so perfectly.

  • Nice!!! ;-)

  • mierdaaaa!! Blues con influencia de Musica bRASILERA!! suena muy bien!!!

  • @cristianferrera es jazz, pero...tu muy bien ^^

  • I picked up this album on the run and when I got home i was not disappointed at all. Bobbi delivered then and still does! This is Smooth Jazz....from the 70's!!!

  • ...just get use to JAZZ!

  • No, criticism, just kick back and go with the effects of Mellow-ism, Hell JAZZ is what self Presevation is all about, Cool as hell, man.

  • I was hear this song when I was little boy umm sound so good even today.

  • god damn amazing

  • Why would you respond to someone 10 months later?

  • Beautiful Black Genious

  • - cont. No artist that I know comes from the ghetto of urban America then suddenly jumps to riding in million dollar limos, lear jets, and flashes jewelry adorned in gold with women at their call who looks like glamour models or club strippers with a handfull of thousand dollar bills to throw around. Music is a lifetime of hard work and such rewards are rare. But not by today's artist who claim otherwise by their videos.

  • @AlvezO - It is because of artists like Bobbi Humphrey and many others who have blazed the trail for Hip Hop and modern R&B. I personally was a fan of Hip Hop in the beginning when it all started. And now have lost respect for this music due to the fact it has in my opinion has lost it roots and has disrespected those who has come before it such as Humphrey and many others. It is driven by money, fame and unrealistic views of the world on which it is based upon.-
