funny bcuz I own a 97 vr-4 with basic bolt-ons(13g turbo hybrid, exhaust,boost controller, ect. and raced a prelude with an H22 and basic bolt-ons.....it was very similar to the outcome on the video. The H22 is a sweet engine to supercharge and to be honest you should have kept up much better than that! get a better tune, and up the boost.
@djchemical idk cause when they showed the speedo it was barely movin past 110 i just thought it would b faster than that for bein turbo but it could also just b the vid
for all of u sack riders, awd cars suck on a roll...it was dumb for the prelude to run the vr4, but vr4's arent that fast stock. evo's are faster than vr4, and i would take the sh motor and put it in a eg hatch with stiff suspension and then i would yank on that vr4....trust me vr4's arent what yall make them out to be
@vtecnegro85 oh so you own a vr-4 and know this? I have owned 2, a 93 and a 97. I have a friend whom owns a 03 EVO MR and I won 3 out of 4 races with the 93 and he wouldnt race the 97 bcuz it is faster than the 93. The evo vs the VR-4 is a driver race period.
you want extra power, get yourself a tunable turbo, not supercharger, as much as i like muscle, i think a turbo would top the supercharger. If you tweak it for lower revs say about 3-4K revs, it'll give that extra boost you need before it shifts gears. The only problem this may cause is axle hop when you take off, but since your doing rolling starts it shouldn't be a problem.
Damn get spanked prelude! Its nice but not great..... Plus why in the hell would you want to put a supercharger on it as compared to a turbo!!! Superchargers sound like shit!
@99ludeSH dont talk about lbs... u dont even know what that is. if we say like this, put worlds smallest turbo on it, 15psi boost. you would be happy if ur near to gain 5hp
thats bullshit if you car is supercharged your shit is fucked up if you turbo an h22 vtec you have 366 hp at 15lbs and over 500 at 30lbs not to mention a fifth gen prelude is 800 pounds lighter. my prelude just has some bolt on mods and i dont even do that bad against vr4s
Honda prelude come at 200-220PS or just under 197HP-216HP depending on the model, super charger raises it by 163Hp? not sure if that makes sense. Whereas a vr4, 3000gt, GTO. starts at 280HP and TT is 320Hp.
@99ludeSH get laid... a h22 prelude with just a S/C, header etc reaches about 220-240whp. still less than the 3k GT stock. and dont try to fool any1 by that 15lbs=366hp / 30lbs 500hp. I do own a prelude myself, with turbonetics setup. so i talk from own experience..... Do you?

different turbos at the same psi CAN make a difference because smaller turbos will not hold boost till redline like bigger ones will.

A fifth gen prelude with a turbo running 15lbs of boost will beat a vr4 and would smoke it from a rolling start.
