  • lol I just immediately think of splinter cell, maybe due to the green color..

  • mine was blue

  • @thegrazy11 I had the x2 chip on one of my boxes and that lets you change that screen with a text file, so I actually had it red on my main 200gb hard drive and I had another hard drive with mods for halo 2 on it and I had a separate text file on that drive that had it boot up in blue. lol

  • All this is, is a flashed BIOS

  • @moddified360 Yup, I mostly made the video to show a friend what you could do with the splash screen on a small bios TSOP modded console without having to buy an Xecuter mod chip.

  • Well that is a bummer, but thank you for your help and good modding to ya! :0)

  • @51RR4GN4R What is a bummer? If it isn't chipped and you want a bigger bios you could always try to dig up a cheap Xecutor x3 mod chip, I think you can get them for decent prices now on websites based in China if you don't mind the wait. I think they have solderless versions but those are said to cause corrosion on the contacts that you have to clean up every once in a while. TSOP modded motherboards have to be flashed differently than most chipped boxes, so you have to take a look.

  • its fake because it has no microsoft trademark at the bottom

  • @lazyleoforeverable You can remove the trademark, lol. The whole point of the video was to show what you can do with the splash screen by flashing a custom bios image to the on-board bios chip of an Xbox 360 after completing a TSOP hard mod. If you're lucky enough to find a v1 Xbox to TSOP mod, or install a mod chip with a big enough bios chip you don't even have to flash the bios to modify the splash screen, just edit a text file.

  • @xb0xisbetter lol, original xbox, not 360. I just noticed that typo, my bad.

  • aha mines like this xD

  • no top comment! My time to shine! Uh. Umm.. TITTIES!!!

  • how remembers getting your uncle to chip your xbox for you???

  • @xboxisbetter My best friend picked up a used original xbox from goodwill. It was changed, only I think it was blue or something. Anyway, his was upgraded with a bigger HDD and flashed. And evox came up. Does this mean he didn't TSOP it? I know evox is softmod dashboard material, but have not treaded down TSOP lane at all. Would like to visit the other side once or twice...

  • @51RR4GN4R If there is no chip there are probably wires custom soldered to points below the board. You can run any dashboard on any console, Unleashx is my dashboard of choice, but most people install evox because it has a built in bios flashing utility. I believe I used evox to flash the bios chip on this Xbox. I wouldn't remember any links on tutorials, if any of them aren't completely dead yet, lol. Sorry about that. I know for sure that you wouldn't have to do it anyway though.

  • @51RR4GN4R That console is for sure hard modded in some way, so you shouldn't really need a tutorial to do any further modding to it. Other than a flashing tut that is, if you wanted to modify the bios image. If you're lucky it has an x3 chip in it and you will be able to modify the splash screen colors with a configuration file saved on the C drive without reflashing the bios. =P

  • @xboxisbetter I tried to go as far back as it would let me, I was unable to see a "detailed" explanation. Just a bit about how version 1.1 have to use X2 bios'. :0) Is there a link to a tut that you trust would work? Or perhaps you could make one yourself. I enjoy making tutorials since my recent Virtual drive mount for noobs in my CTEC class.

  • @51RR4GN4R If the splash screen is modified in any way the console either has a mod chip in it running modified bios or it has been tsop modded. Some mod chips have optional bank switches that you mount on the front of the console below the first controller port. If those aren't there it could still be chipped. You would have to take it apart and look at the motherboard to see if it is tsop modded or has a mod chip installed. Mod chips are usually installed on the top of the board.

  • :OOO Red Xbox...looks so hardcore and awesome.

  • @LordvGum Thanks, lol.

  • @vghardcore I do remember reading that somewhere once. I'm glad they made the change, could you imagine saying "Direct X-box 360" all of the time? lol

  • How do I do this? I have upgraded at least 20 xboxes with HDD. Help plz?

  • @51RR4GN4R If you read back to previous comments I give a pretty detailed description on how to do it. It isn't possible with soft mods, you have to either TSOP mod your console, or use a mod chip because this screen is stored in your bios image.

  • @SnakeTheWolf I'm pretty sure all of the original Xbox consoles were mass produced in China anyway. Microsoft still got their money when it was sold.

  • bad ass

  • @TheFishboneX Thanks. If you would like to do something like this yourself, it is practically free if you have an old Xbox sitting around and some wire/soldering skills.

  • i miss my xbox

  • @metalcorefowlkes You can still find original Xbox consoles for cheap on Craigslist, I got the debug kit I have in another video on Craigslist. They are all over the place ... I have more than I should. lol

  • @xb0xisbetter thats awsome thanks because i just relized how many great games there were on the xbox since im only 14 and my parents really didnt like suggestive games so i didnt have many

  • @metalcorefowlkes No problem. The Xbox 360 can play a good deal of original Xbox games as well, Should be compatibility lists floating around out there. Also I know for sure that Jtagged 360s can play just about any original xbox game you can think of, but there are sometimes very good reasons Microsoft disabled them in the first place, lol. I can't play Timesplitters 2 on my Jtag without it scrolling through the menu repeatedly, lol.

  • Soviet Box !

  • @TheBillbot You could say that, but I just like the colors red and black personally. =P

  • my friend has that on one he calls "das xbox 1"

  • @DevMcViewer60411 There might eventually be something similar to this on jtagged xbox 360s. The homebrew community for xbox 360 is still pretty young in comparison to the original Xbox.

  • Hey! How do i do this?? I have the Xecuter2 chip in my Xbox :D

    Plzz Tut?

  • @Holmklo well, since your Xbox is already hard modded, all you should have to do is find an Xbox app that can flash the bios, the old Evolution X dashboard does the trick. Unless Evolution X is your default dashboard, you are going to have to install Evolution X as an application in your apps directory. You can Google how to do that pretty easily (it is basically just copying the Evolution X directory into your apps directory and renaming the Evolution X launcher to default.xbe).

  • @Holmklo once you have Evolution X working, you need to find an X2 bios. I don't remember for sure, but you should be able to use just about any X2 bios. If you use the most recent releases of the X2 bios it is a lot easier because all you have to do to modify the look of your splash screen or flubber screen is edit the values of a .ini file. (otherwise you need to use a bios editor prior to flashing, like with TSOP flashes) You might want to read into Xbox bios images and how to prepare them.

  • @Holmklo Once you are sure that you have the correct bios and are ready to flash your Xbox's X2 chip, you should ftp the bios to the Bios directory within the Evolution X app directory. I will stress one more time that you should look into flashing bios images carefully. Unless you have a utility called flashbios flashed to one of the banks of your X2 chip, just one bad flash could turn your Xbox into a paperweight. It has been a long time since I have done it, but Evolution X should have ...

  • @Holmklo a menu option for flashing the bios that you copied to your Bios directory to your X2 chip. If you do have flashbios on either bank of your X2 chip, make sure to flash the other bank. If flashbios is on bank 1, flash bank 2. If it is on bank 2, flash bank 1. Otherwise you will overwrite flashbios. You might want to Google using Evolution X to flash your bios, and more information on X2 mod chip banks and flashing X2 chips. Once you have the latest X2 bios flashed to your Xbox, I ...

  • @Holmklo Believe that the zip folder, or whatever archived file your bios was downloaded in, should have a config.ini file. You might be able to edit the file manually with a text editor, but there are windows applications made specifically for opening the file and allowing you to make changes to it in a more user friendly way. Google around for an X2 config editor if you don't like manually editing the colors in the file. Once you have your file set the way you want it, you should just be ...

  • @Holmklo able to copy the file over to the E partition of your hard drive and reboot. Don't worry about anything being screwed up in the configuration file because your x2 bios will work just fine without it. If you don't like the way it works, or would like to change it later, you can always just copy it back to your computer and tweak it.

I hope that gives you a good enough start, I just got off work and I am way too tired to look into the specifics of every single little program right now.

  • @Holmklo 360isannoying is one of my other youtube accounts, I didn't even notice I wasn't on this one. Shows how tired I am. Anyway, goodluck with your Xbox.

  • RED RING OF DEATH...

  • @LiamCatterson lol, what does the red ring of death have to do with the original Xbox?

  • @360isannoying i was just making this a pun to the red ring of death for xbox 360. The logo is red so...

  • memories....

  • wow how do u do that

  • @bq619 That depends on your console and what kind of modification you do to your Xbox console. You cannot do this to a soft-modded Xbox console, meaning an Xbox that uses a linux exploit to run modified software. You must either TSOP your Xbox or install a mod chip, both of which require opening your console and the use of a soldering iron, unless you buy a solderless mod chip. Once one of these modifications are made you can figure out how you want to flash the bios.

  • @bq619 A lot of my other videos are about modified Original Xbox consoles, if you watch the one titled, "My custom boot screen", you can see that you can also customize the animation of the splash screen if you are able to flash a larger bios image. This console's bios was only ... 256k I believe, the console in that video has an X2 bios chip installed. Mod chips are flashable, allowing the use of larger bios images than certain model stock consoles.

  • i like it red better

  • @22dogcat I chose red because I like black and red more than most colors together, if you were to flash the bios on your own Xbox you can choose whatever colors you want though. The background doesn't have to be black and you can even choose a combination of colors for the Xbox logo. If you watch the video of my Hard modded Xbox booting, you can see that with a larger bios brings more options on top of it, like customization of the splash screen.

  • @xb0xisbetter i like red and black together too. add me as friend please

  • ive got n xbox 360 now

  • I have had an Xbox 360 ever since it was released, the Xbox 360 is still not capable of doing a large majority of the things you can do with a modified original Xbox. The few things that it can do are only possible on a Jtagged 360.

  • @LuigiRockz230 roflmao

  • That just sounds like your a/v cable isn't plugged in all the way.

  • There are too many variables for me to just explain it, you have to find out what version xbox you have first.

  • What is it that you don't understand? The contents of the video or what you just said?

  • how do u get the custom bios boot?

  • if your xbox is newer than v1.1 you must use a 256k bios, if that is the case you can only use an x2 bios up to a certain version that I do not remember, before the feature to change the boot screen with a text file or live editer. So you must flash your bios chip with a bios that you have edited beforehand with a bios editing program. I don't remember which one I used, but you can find a few on any modding site or xbins.
