I know very well this black page from FZ and consider it one of his more inspired works. I learnt to play it when I was sixteen, and it took me months to be accurate. This fantastic girl makes an outstanding drumming performance : she doesn't play the Black Page but distributes evocations of it. The connaisseurs of FZ's BP can individuate them. She's a real artist. If I was less old, ugly and shy I would ask her for marriage when she turns 18 !

The Black Page contains lots of complex rythms, that can sound just like a buch of pounding if played on the drums. I have played this melody on the marimba a lot, and I recognize most of what she's doing here, but it's partly simplyfied.

I copyed this one from DVD, named SOLOS & DUETS. It has a score of "Black Page #1", and I believe I didn't simplyfied any parts.

Actually Terry Bozzio himself said to me this play was really good and let's play with him someday.

That makes me sooo happy and I'm keeping practising so hard.

I want to play this on the marimba, too.
