3:04 I'm sure the clarinet to the left is an amazing player and expresses much emotion through his playing...but physically I see no emotion form him while the clarinet to the left is so into the music moving with the melody....
@xHuntedGunzPCGx the clarinetist it trying to match the principals pitch on this part. there really is no emotion in this part, it is all on the page. he's looking peripherally to see when the principal places the note. a critical moment like this need extreme concentration.
@xHuntedGunzPCGx also the 2nd clarinetist isn't the one playing the solo, he has the harmony - it would be inappropriate for him to be as "emotional" as you probably want him to be. like @musicends said, its the 2nd's job to follow the principal
Great vid, despite what someone thinks about the horns, they were great, even the GREAT Phil Meyers in New york Philharmonic messed up on their recorded documentary of their tour to North Korea, fantastic concert!!
anyone who criticizes how someone plays a french horn is a dumbass, since it is probably one of the most difficult instruments to get a good sound from.
@supu6 Despite my user-name, I am horn player and I really don't like that whole whining " Horn is hard" crap every instrument has its difficulties. But it's up to us to overcome them and get better, especially outside of high school. In a University setting, your expected to be playing at a semi professional level. Everyone knows hard close the partials are, That's why we practice!

This symphony would be better if the penultimate chord had a g on the top instead of the same old e.

@xHuntedGunzPCGx It is a mindlessly easy clarinet passage. No need to shred it for some dime a dozen half notes.

Phil Myers has done the same thing on the same solo...and he's principal of the New York Philharmonic...

@playthehorn93
Unfortunately, he's messed up in a lot of cases. This is not to say he is a bad horn player; obviously he isn't.
