Very entertaining matcg between the two greatest Intercontinental champions of all time. NO ONE could work like Bret, and NO ONE could generate heat like Honky. Two of my all-time favorite wrestlers. Heenan was classic on commentary, too.
How embarrassing would it have been for the Undertaker if his WWF debut was him hatching out of the egg to do combat with the Hart Foundation? That would have been an Internet sensation. We'd be seeing "Undertaker Hatches (WWF Debut)" all over YouTube.
I actually always liked Honky. Solid midcard/upper midcard worker. Keep in mind, the workrate of the guys in this era didn't matter to fans as much as it does today
@brnleague99 How can you sit here and say that Honky Tonk Man is one of the top two greatest Intercontinental Champions of all time? Come on now. Are you basing this opinion on the length of his Championship reign or are you basing it on ability? In my opinion you can't measure how great a Champion is based on how long he holds a title over a certain amount of time. I mean, you can but if you're going to make that opinion, I think you should also take into consideration whether or not Honky
didn't these two rematch each other in march or april of 1991 in honker's last wwf match and one of bret's first contests after breaking out as a singles wrestler??.
why does heenan always sing over the music? my only crit of him. a lot of people over look jimmy hart as the manager of champions, because heenan was on the mic so much. not taking anything away from heenan, but jimmy had 2 champs in 1987 before heenan EVER tasted gold. and i think those reigns meaned more. but the hennan family was really great. shawn and bret should have dominated things like orton and cena have for the last 4 years... they should have been main eventing from 1990-2000
Wow, what a gem!

This was such a memorable match for Bret. His brother (Dean Hart) died of a kidney disease just 1 day before this match.

Honky getting heat at the start with the fans after Bret gave that kid his shades. "I'd probably slap the punk myself!"

Wayne Ferris aka Honky Tonk Man is a piece of shit whose career never took off and he buries the wrong people because of it

I loved the Hartfoundation theme. I hated it when Bret changed it in 94

Would it be proper to label Honky, and the rest of the heels, as jobbers to the stars?

Nobody hits the turn buckle like Bret.

@brnleague99 was a great wrestler and not just base your opinion on how long he held the Championship.

This match is a tremendous testament to Bret Hart and his ability to carry almost any wrestler he worked with to a good match.

@mrphd619 Who said it was The Survivor Series 1990? This was Survivor Series SHOWDOWN 1990, like it states in the title.
