@ legpains just got your comment and I will try to reply as best I can.
1)Straightening of the Lumbar Lordosis
This is a common age related phenomena, which occurs mainly from postural changes, gravity, and muscle imbalances. A good posture rehab strengthening program would help. The bulging discs and broad based bilateral protrusion will be helped from the decompression table, as the gentle distracted forces drop pressure in the discs, and help nourish the injured discs.
i have herniated disks on c5 and c6. i was in so much pain and all the doctors could do was recommend surgery. before anyone was going to cut into my neck i was going to try any alternative. i was recommended the drx9000 by someone who had success and after just a few treatments i had vast improvements. i pretty much feel 100% now. i never believed in chiropractors but now i do. regular traction with the physical therapist did nothing for me.
@LegPains I think i went 3 days a week for 3 months. When the pain was pretty much gone I stopped going even though I probably could have benefitted from a few more treatments. I was just tired of going and more importantly paying. It's been over a year and the pain hasn't come back. What is still there is more of an annoyance than actual pain. I'm not sure if it works for all conditions but it definitely worked for me.
Thanks so much i appreciate your sharing this with me. How many Treatments did it take before you were able to notice a big difference and you definitely knew it was working ?
How much did it Cost ? While you were getting the DRX treatments, was that all you were doing or was there anything else in addition as far as treatment that were doing ?
@LegPains I was paying $30 a session 3 days a week. No idea what it would cost without insurance. The place i went to used a 3 prong approach. Each day, Regular Chiropractic adjustments, Physical Therapy (Stretching, massage, ultrasound, and electrostimulation), and the DRX. I probably felt some relief after 3 sessions but great relief by the end of month 1. before DRX, it was percocets and physical therapy and that did nothing for me. While on the machine (day 1), to me, it felt right.
Your Insurance covered the DRX treatments ? i had always heard that Medical insurance doesnt cover Decompression therapy . Thanks so much for sharing your story, it gives me confidence to try this !
@LegPains btw. some possibly useful information. My herniations were "major" and i'm probably relatively young compared to most people in need of this type of treatment. 33 at the time. i'm sure age probably has something to do with recovery.
In response to your question, the bulk of my pain was in my lower back. There was some right leg and foot pain and numbness but it was tolerable. The DRX 9000 made both pains worse, especially the lower back. Good luck with your pain and stay away from the DRX 9000.
I had shooting pain from my low back down my legs, I was told that I had a disc bulge at L4-L5. I could hardly stand up straight. The pain was extreme! Walking was difficult if not near impossible. I didn't think that I was ever going to find relief. I had been in pain for almost a year. I couldn't even lift anything. Just brushing my teeth was difficult. The first time I was put on the DRX machine I felt relief. I actually fell asleep for the first time in months!
I don't believe anything that needs an infomercial to market it. Thanks anyway, I'll stick with manual traction or a traction machine...WHICH IS THE SAME THING.
@jneil78 we have a drx machine in our office and it works more often than not. Nothing works for everyone, but I have seen it work wonders for a lot of people. Everything is a gamble when it comes to treatment of any kind. Focus more on the clinician I would say.
Straightening of the Lumbar Lordosis , Bulging disc at L4 L5, a Loss of Water content of the L5 S1 disc which is in contact with the dural sac and a broad based bilateral protrusion into the Neural Foramina
Do you think DRX would be of great benefit to me and reduce my Pains in my Legs ?
The DRX does what it says! I was in SEVERE pain and had tried everything. I went to see an orthopedic surgeon who said I needed to have surgery. I was scheduled for surgery when my friend told me about the DRX and Dr. Walton. I was very skeptical but after meeting with Dr. Walton, I decided to try it. Dr. Walton was able to explain to me what was going on with my back, I have not had anyone explain my problem better! Fortunately it was a total success! No SURGERY for me! Golf here I come
Absolutely Worthless! Burning the $6000 it cost would have been more enjoyable. The chiropractic office I was dealing with convinced me this would solve all my problems. What it did was prevent me from working for three months. I went from moderate back pain to extremely painful back pain. Personalized stretching along with pain management worked the best for me. Fight this like a war, by learning and researching. The people that use these are just exploiting your injury!

Everything im hearing and reading so far is that the DRX is a vastly inferior machine compared to the VAX D machine.
Do you know about the VAX D machine ? also check out a $ 300 home machine called the NUBAX

have you ever tried the VAX D ?
