  • I always wondered what was that song?

  • NO THE PLAYSTATION! YOU KILLED HIM!

  • Interface / Stimulation Loop! I love this song! It's so bazaar for a band like Praxis to be in the background of a video game commercial.

  • stupid sega not giving fucking developers some bloody development tools that work...

  • That purple face always scared me:(

  • I almost bought a Saturn because of this game, I was surprised how nice it looked and fun it was...in the end though I went for Crash and the PS1 if I had the money I would have bought both (I am a big fan of the Genesis) but unfortunately I had to choose one, i still have the PS1 with a bunch of awesome games and a Genesis too!

  • I miss the old Sega.... They could pwn Sony and no one would give a shit. Now they are too scared to do that because they know they will get sued.

  • The Saturn had quite a lot of power that most programmers couldn't figure out fast enough at the time to make things look inviting. Most of the games made to work with 2 processors came straight from Sega. Too many great ideas with shitty execution.

  • Fuck Bernie Stolar.

  • This commercial doesn't represent the game at all. Instead of showing off the beautiful worlds, and fast addicting gameplay, they use a weird robot voice, flash subliminal messages, and talk about processors. If I hadn't played the game myself I would be clueless about it after watching this.

  • @TheKingofMotown Yeah, it just sounds like Sega being bitter. I love playing Nights, but if that was my first glimpse of it as opposed to some kids in a Toys R Us screaming while they played it, then I doubt I'd feel the same about it now

  • what systym is that?

  • @LigersruleXD *facepalm* Saturn you noob.

  • in the 90s some video game commercials had the balls challenge each other, for example "our video game hardware is better than their own" and "this game is only on our system and not theirs". im sure that if wii and ps3 was released in the 90s wii commercial would be like "get some excerise using wii fit and don't be a lazy fat ass by playing ps3!"

  • wow the purple thing freaks me out and plaything? i bet they regret calling it that after the playstation rised up in the ranks and beat the saturn and ps2 beat dreamcast so yeh

  • Wizeman the Wicked is the primary antagonist of the game.

  • My reaction after seeing the comercial:

    *Picks up the saturn*

    COME ON SEGATHING, FLY!!!

    *Throws it off the window*

    You're not ready!

  • spyro

  • As much as I respect SEGA games and hardware, I must say that Descent (PC) came out before Nights, so this commercial is a lie. (also, Descent eventually got an inferior port to the "Plaything") If only SEGA knew how to market the Saturn in USA like they did in Japan...

  • In fact, that purple human jester head screaming,"aaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! SEGA!" looked more like to scare away potential customers.

  • Typical 90's Sega commercial. It was all about attitude back then. I'm a Sega fan and I love Nights, but this commercial wasn't that great.

  • dude the purple face scared the crap out of me!

  • Yeah, THAT was very...disturbing. Okay, scarey. Honest.

  • ???? at the end O_O

  • This commercial doesn't suit the game at all. WTF is with all that trippy shit in the commercial? It looks like there's subliminal messages hidden in there, LOL.

  • Well, NiGHTS was a fairly trippy game what with all those bright colors :P

  • sonic on acid type shit i played nights and loved it but something didn't sit well.

  • No That was the PS1

  • No the PS1

  • Oi,my bad...

  • Back when Sega kicked ass. I think making X-Box games tainted Sega with failure.

  • The Saturn could handle hundreds upon hundreds of 2D sprites at the same time while maintaining a decent frame rate. The limited capacity of a cartridge made gourad shaded polygonal models more economical, packing carts with 2D sprites would have upped the cost of the memory. Saturn games could afford to do sprite work better than the 64. As for NiGHTS if you open your eyes you will see it isn't trying to be Mario 64, it's typical you'd reference to that you unreasonable fan boy.

  • yeah what u said

  • sega had every reason to brag about this game

  • You can really see how desperate Sega was becoming when every Saturn ads openly bashes the PSX.

  • It has nothing to do with desperation, Sega has always used that approach. The Sega systems have always been better then the other ones on the market.

  • Umm...Super Nintendo, anyone?

  • Super Nintendo? You mean the console that had a slower processor than the Genesis?

  • @TrappedWithin19 There were rumors that they were planning something with RingEdge( they still are.) But now there's conformation that SEGA of Japan is locked and loaded with its new arcade board SEGADRIVE for another console run.

  • Well no shit, Sega has always been open to bashing its competition, go watch some Genesis ads.

  • is it relly so weird I mean have you seen todays satellite, cable, and car insurance commercials

  • it's so funny that the Playstation sold a lot more units so who's laughing now?

  • oh please everyone knows saturn can handle 2-d objects 20's better than the ps1.

  • and it looks cooler to

  • ya die you stupid playstation

  • nnyyyaaaa SEGA!!

  • lol sooo true
