  • I really wish these guys actually had their own TV station.

  • This rocks, very well polished, should be heard round the world...kind of like the rolling stones but it doesn't roll as much as it rocks, and is more polished. Just a stones throw away from perfection.

  • One of the weirdest videos I've seen, cool song though!

  • how many great tunes did this band have man, cant beleive i sold all my cds on ebay

  • @1888gp silly lad lol

  • BRING ON THE TRUMPETS!

  • sorry - i recognize the curling, but does this end with a poo-throwing contest? it looks like a poo throwing contest

  • Road bowling from ireland. they throw a nasty metal ball down a road. the ball is 4 or 5 times heavier than a cricket ball. big money is betted on matches

  • SFA never tried to look like an important band.

    Give it 15 years.

  • Lrn2Music.

  • you'd know being an arsehole,,,

  • nope, your just a total cunt, that's all.

  • its called curling...a famous scottish sport come the winter...

  • duh. they're talking about the bit in the vid after the curling...

  • @TheTinselmouse happy new year

  • WTF! but i love it!

  • listen to this baked, its so groovy & awesome

    love it =]

  • Unusual, original and very brilliant band. Always a pleasure.

  • great vid what does it all mean>>>>>>>>

  • Just spotted ''bright light over yonder in the north of the sky!'' & Thought of this track such a nice one >Flaming June

  • one of my favourite songs ever, i actulally couldnt imagine my life without this tune.could someone send me the guitar chords

  • All SFA lovers I see, good good. Try this, the SFA test : -

You meet someone new, you're trying to suss them out...

"Ever listened to Super Furry Animals?"

If yes I guarantee you'll talk for hours.

Coming soon the David Bowie test, the Mighty Boosh test and the Ross Noble test.

  • Best SFA ever did!!! fuckin tune!! love it

  • sfa have supported oasis in the past, i think the last time was on the dont believe the truth tour with the coral i think, and the subways...but who couldnt love saf

Dwin hoffi Sfa ~Achos maen fendigedig...my welsh is rusty, haha

  • First time i saw this video about ten years i pissed my self laughing. Love them blokes lobbing stuff down a hill at the end. SFA OK!

  • i love, love, love, love this song!

  • Super Furry Animals are the fuckin nuts, this is a given......

SFA OK, Oi Frango, and indeed, Chupa, Chupa, Chupacabras

  • Just starting to get into these guys now, they remind me of a Welsh Ween. They're awesome!

  • @kaytothei i got into SFA like 6 years ago, and that was my exact thought at the time. A Welsh Ween or Flaming Lips. I like the Ween reference though. Not exactly in most of their music, but in their obvious comfort level in never trying to be "a big thing." so more in spirit. not sure if you'll see this comment two years on, but i had to comment, given that was my feel at the start of what has become a long love affair with SFA. By far one of the most brilliant bands of the 21st century.

  • i wish i could answer you charliesmigz but the truth is,only a select family of believers will ever know the true brilliance that sfa are. dont worry however, when the rhapsody does arrive and the world is waylaid by demons and imps, every sfa follower will be transported to a beautiful new planet called gruffi sigma 7 where we live for all eternity in peace playing guitar and eating cheese, drinking wine. BRING IT ON!!

  • I just love the Super Furry Animals. Why can't the whole world recognise their quirky, psychedelic genius like we can, that's what I demand to fucking know!!

    Some fucker tell me, please.

  • If I ever hear the opening part anywhere, I just want to drop whatever I'm holding, baby or yellow cake or whatever, and just dance. Just that kind of song, lol.

  • Still their best tune IMHO

  • yeah its a toss up between this and Demons

  • Gruff Rhys is from NORTH WALES. Bethesda to be precise...so it is a NORTH WALES ACCENT and not a Cardiff accent. The reason i know this is that i come from the same town. Diolch yn fawr!

  • They have great music but they are still Welsh and every time I went to Whales I was treated like shit. Mostly I think because I'm a ginger

  • Where's Whales? is it near Wales?

  • My bad

  • Just joking. Any SFA fan is cool with me.

    All the best.............John

  • i don't care if you or they are welsh...

  • I grudgingly admit the Welsh have the greatest bands like Manics and SFA, the greatest film - Twin Town and had great footballers - Giggs, Hughes, Rush. I know they hate us English as well

  • Twin Town is amazing, got both of the Ifans brothers in it who are really good actors in my opinion (although Rhys made a bigger career!)

  • 'Great band, pity there Welsh'... Who is the idiot who wrote 'there' instead of 'they're' and also who is the idiot who would make such an asshole remark? SFA wouldn't be the same if they didn't have the North Wales accent, I think the singer comes from my village and it's something to be proud of!

  • they're from cardiff, they aren't north welsh!

  • Ahm yeah most of them are but at least one of them is from Bethesda I know that for a fact.

  • The lead singer used to live in Bethesda growing up, okay so I guess they are technically more South Walian :)

  • They moved to Cardiff. Factoid.

  • fair enough, but i new they were from south wales not the north.

    peace!!

  • interesting video is that brian blessed in the vid?

  • this song is really great

i met the band backstage at a bristol gig back in october

  • The live version from Glastonbury is awesome.

  • it isnt prejudiced or racist, its just plain baffling!wot a grade a bell end that guy is.

  • re:pity there welsh-what fuckin difference does it make where there from its irrelevant you dumb racist moron

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! i thought it was peter gabriel when i first heard it.

  • Why on earth is it a pity they're Welsh?! How prejudiced of you.

  • Do you feel stupid after writing that?

  • someone should put up the top of the pops performance of this song. it is way better than this video. love love the song though, but you want to see the band.

  • Jonah the Glastonbury performance of this is the best I've ever seen. Been trying to get it for years.

  • ah, I would like to see that.

  • greatest song ever.

  • The video isn't ver good, but it's my favourite Super Furry Animals song!

Dydw i ddim yn hoff iawn o'r fideo i'r gan yma, ond mae'n fy hoff can Super Furry Animals!

Thought I'd try my Welsh out.

  • Love this song my cousin is one of the people in this band!!

  • aaaaawesome. love SFA

  • Isn't this song about a hurricane or wind system or summat?

  • Great Song.

    Can gwych.

    SFA am byth!

  • I want to dance with my yet-to-know boyfriend to this tune

  • Oh how I love this song, it applies so well to my latest relationship...what a handful. Every time I escape back to my own space, I put this song on and let the worries melt away.

  • is that the official video to the song? the picture doesn't bear any relation to the song and we don't actually SEE the group here :S

  • Yes this is the official video to the song. The Island is Ilsa Craig (not too sure of the spelling) off the West Coast of Scotland, by Stranraer, the ferry port to Northern Ireland. My guess is the band would have seen it on their tours and rather appreciated the fact that all the stones in the world used for the sport of Curling are made of rock from there. The island is the fossilised magma core of an old volcano, fact fans!

  • stupid video. Great memories of this song in the summer of '99. Good times.

  • SFA,in a universe all of their own.

  • HAHA wot a band!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fucking ACE video

  • massive during gcse's - anferth !!!

    xxxxxxxx

  • funky shit

  • what's the exact name of the last sport in this video? is it really road bowling? or bossein? awesome video!

  • road bowling, its an irish sport with similar rules to golf

  • thats a great song, thanx for the post

  • Great song!

what's that sport called in the last part of the video? In northern Germany we play smth similar called "Bosseln"

  • Road Bowling - Its big in Parts of Northern Ireland and the Counties of Cork & Kerry in the South :)

  • It's called curling me thinks.

  • damn i love that video
