  • Hey somebody tell me this,..didn't the Cathedral Choir from Greater Bethany record when they were under the direction of Jonathan Grier& Ina Stewart?

Man I wish I could hear them sing 2 songs 1 more time: a song called "One Step",..that's all it takes,..he will do the rest,.. and another song called: 'You came into my life" ,.which i think James Hall & WAP recorded later on.

He's my help... ok ok ok.... I was getting carried away. My bad! LOL

  • He's my help in the storm

  • I love this song. I was a young upstart musician and this song was one a learned to play in Eb.

    What an album.

  • can i get a copy of this album

  • RIP

  • Hey loopeyman76, I was at your Grandma's funeral Saturday. Ethel was awesome. I am her daughter Janet's friend Connie. Are you Perry????

  • LOL no. I was saying that my grandmother (who passed in 1986) was the one to buy me this album when I was 8 years old, so hearing this song makes me think of her. Ethel Holloway was not my grandmother. Sorry for any confusion!

BTW I'm sure that was SOME homegoing!

  • Man I'm bout to cry! I remember when they FIRST played this on the radio when it came out in 1984. I fell in love with the song and my grandma (RIP) bought me the record. You know I played this album to death in my room while shouting along to it!! LOL

I will never forget those days, and of course I'll never forget my grandma, and we will never forget Ethel Holloway.

  • Thank you for blessing us through the years. R.I.P

  • Thank You Lord for letting us be blessed by your angel and saint Mama Ethel!!! She has truly blessed us over the years and she will continue to sing in glory!!!!

  • WOW! Rest in peace, Mother Holloway!

  • U can't never change the original & this is that. thanjs for putting this on. I love it even tho I'm old school, u can't never get tired of GOD. Stay prayerful

  • RIP Ethel and thank you for the many years of your ministry

  • R.I.P

  • R.I.P Mama Holloway.

  • Actually, it does sound like the speed is kicked up a few notches. It's not this fast, and it even is a different key.

  • The speed is fast because it was recorded from a record player that I bought at a thrift store so I could play my old albums. This is not CD quality, but if you have it on CD at a slower speed, then please post it. I'm not trying to be funny about it...just explaining the speed and key change.

  • Thats ok, this is the original beat. my cousin song this song.

  • Hallelujah!

  • Mna THANK YOU for posting this and this is the speed I recall. So it's all good. Could you also post You Are Everything By Francince. I have been looking everywhere for this album. I had it years ago and was one of my favorites

  • I don't remember the song being this fast, but obviously this is from the original album. Nonetheless, The Tommies are AMAZING!!!! There will never be another choir like them. They're often imitated, but never will they be duplicated. Rev. Milton Brunson & TCS will always be the greatest of all time.

  • Yes lawd this old Ethal! I have had the pleasure to sing with and back her up b4. I was a teenager when this album first came out, folks dis is what REAL gospel music is... Also a lot of my friends still sing with the reunion choir. They travel mostly around. They did a concert last year bk hm n Chi. We should start teaching these old songs to our choirs again! Lawd, now ant dat it...

  • lol, they need another reunion album of the stuff they didn't do.

  • I cosign! They had so many hits that it is crazy. They should do a reunion and sing every song from all of their albums. They could sell that recording in parts just like they did with Side A and Side B. I would buy it if they did.

  • "I Love This Song"....

  • ...and she is KILLIN this song. They dont make songs like this no more!!!!!! LAWD! Nobody like the Tommies!!

  • This is truly Ethel Holloway on lead, keep praying for her, and for her speedy recovery

  • What's wrong with her? Is she ok?

  • she has diabetes, and a few years old she became blind
