It's a shame that this runs using IE (at least, that's what it sounds like) can you get it working with a better browser? or without a browser at all? It would be awesome to get this running on my Linux machine!!
Please, Please, Please make this for Linux and mac!
@Cynherr You still need Windows, since SA5.0 relies on IE9. It just gives you an option to run an animation completely off sidebar, since sidebar can be slow, cumbersome, and sometimes not working at all. SA5.0 doesn't mean to be a completely standalone version. SA5.0 still runs on sidebar, and in fact some of the basic setup functions still need the gadget platform in the mean time.
@TheAssirra Basically ALL SA animations should work on the non-gadget version. The only restriction is that the base animation needs to be a rectangular animation. Any transparent animations will be hosted on a white background (child animations have no restriction).
@TheAssirra Beta testing will start in a few days hopefully. The testing period will probably be quite long though, since SA5.0 fully requires IE9 to run, which is still in beta state (RC) on its own, and obviously some of the IE9 features are still broken or bugged. Another point to note is that the non-gadget version of System Animator consumes LESS CPU power, roughly just half of the gadget version, and this doesn't count CPU acceleration (seems still broken in IE9 RC HTA).
what's the first song ?
