nice, but in terms of musical depth and feeling, gustav mahler makes this band or new classical music as described by paul, sound bad...but peace, all the same.
@vinnynumbnuts I like all music so went to a few Gustav symphonies and is great stuff..thanks. I found some really good stuff i never heard before. The Beatles used words though so you cant compare the two..both good but different.
@George6360 oh i enjoy listening to the beatles and other rock bands, but mahler's tragic, say, has so much more in it than a beatles song like 'i want to hold you hand' or this song here. there's singing in classical music, too, like, say, mahler's 2nd, or mozart's requiem mass in d minor. i see rock & classical comparable in that they are both, in essence, music. love them both, though i give classical much more complexity and depth. rock's the king of the beat, but classical's got more soul.
@vinnynumbnuts Yes they are both food for the soul..only a fool will listen to only one type of music and I agree that the great classical artists are amazing and taught all who came after what to do..they are the" Alpha" of music.
@George6360 i move everywhere for this soul food called music--the blues (god, i love johnny lee hooker so much), metal (black sabbath is pure magic), country (johnny cash), jazz (gene krupa in sing sing sing--live), irish music (the chieftains)...you name it! the universal language, which the beatles understood so well. but i must say that classical has moved me the most...made me cry, even. mozart is unbelievable. actually, he was so powerful that he was a reason for people to convert to God
rods rite im only 14 and i thing we need something to bring together we live in a age of ingorants. now if u ask any teen on the street they wont give the beatles they lite of day
We need a musical revolution as we had in the Sixties, we need that spirit of brother and sisterhood as we had back then in the Flower Child age. We need to upgrade our human operating system once again, we need to create and maintain a world that is suitable for children, all children. All humans are blood related just too ignorant to think past their bellies or their penis' and whatnot. Being an animal on a planet is just a passing phase, temporary, let's do good. Rod
the fact about this song is about the divorce of john and his prevoius wife, when had julliene, he married yoko, so its to help him to say its ok, you can make it
This "video" was also shown on "THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS COMEDY HOUR" in October 1968, probably to the widest audience who first saw it in the United States...and in its entirity.
