(1) "Bukit Koman a small village situated in the district of Raub, Pahang became famous over a hundred years ago because of its gold mine. There are about 400 households and a population of about 3,000. Life was peaceful and serene until early August, 2006 when the issue of "Cyanide" brought fear and anxiety."
"The nearest house, No. 74-A in Bukit Koman is only two meters away from the mining site and most of the houses in the village are only separated by a village road."
(2) "Question being asked, how and why did The Pahang Mine and Geology Department able to grant and approve the use of Cyanide in the mining of gold here when there are houses and small industries (Mee, Tau Foo, Groundnuts) so close to the mine."
"There is a river flowing through the mining site. If the river overflows during floods, the water will seep into the gold mining infrastructure and can lead to Cyanide leakage and resulting in disastrous consequences."(June 16 2008)
(3) "Ng Yen Yen is the Raub MP, but when the Bukit Koman residents asked for her help to stop the cyanide Gold mining at Bukit Koman, she didn't response to the people."
"Pahang Menteri Besar Adnan Yaakob placated Bukit Koman residents with promises that experts would be brought in soon to assess whether cyanide usage in a nearby gold mine would harm them." (mar 2 2007)
(4) With 350 cases n counting n the death that had occurred, it can be concluded that "Cyanide" used definitely plays a major part in all of these cases. There r more interesting facts n figures about these issues that can be traced back to the ruling regime if one would search n look for him/herself. My condolences to the family n may Allah s.w.t bless your soul. Together all of us god creation, CAN make a difference. The choice is in our hands. The next GE awaits all of us. Peace n God bless.
uhh..my chinese is rusty and i cant really understand what the senator is saying..but i think its says something about someone died over the use of cyanide. They used cyanide and its smell has affect everything around them.People has gotten sick from the smell and animals wont go near them?? they made a complaint to Jabatan alam sekitar and jabatan mineral dan ??? (quoted from the senator, again i cant rally understand what is he saying) but the response has been disappointing.
The company must be sued and taken to court and be made responsible to compensate those whose health had suffered due to their irresponsible opertions.
