Checked the site, they did make the intro stage and the boss, but choose not to add them because they wanted to keep to the limit a NES cart could hold and a whole stage like that would of put it over the limit. It's even linked to Duo's Stage, which also got the ax.
I wonder when this game will finally be done? I'm very impressed with it already and I think it would be awesome if they ported this and RM 7 fc onto NES carts.
@JPhands Well, the current beta (ver 2.841) goes as far as the final boss and credits, but the game isn't whole yet. There's still a lot of refining to do, but right now it's still very well made.

There's also coding for attacks, collisions and damages for the new 8-Bit enemies that were only in the 32-Bit 8. There also have to be some changes to stage layouts so you don't need a certain RB weapon to get through, which takes more time to program.
@MarcoRossi101 they actually did, they made it for wonderswan and exclusivloy made it in Japan. It's nct called Mega Man and Bass 2, but it was a sequal to the MM&B

... Meh... I don't know if I want to play it now since I know the intro and presumably middle stages will be removed. They have, in my opinion, the best BGM, and I would have loved to hear it in 8-Bit, as well as go through the levels. Sure, they're making them like the original 6 games and 9 which didn't have intro stages, but come on... you're straying to far from the original game by removing gameplay elements. It's just as bad as removing the Boktai content from Battle Network 6.
So, no fight with Duo? Jesus, that "retro for the sake of being retro" attitude is getting annoying. Bet they're gonna remove the collectable bolts and Roll's shop as well... And they're probably going to replace the save feature by some crappy NES password system. Hell, even MM9 has ditched that.
