  • 1:13 " Revenge is a dish best eaten cold". Good one Macbeth!!

  • "The password is 'Alone'...."

When I saw that scene as a kid it hit me how tragic Demona was. Perhaps he's unrepentantly evil as well, but she wasn't always that way. She just had a few flaws that she never got over.

  • I feel bad for McBeth the most, he didn't really do anything bad and he had to deal with Demona for 1000 yrs

  • i feel sorry for demona she's had a bad and lonely life

  • I always laugh after the scene where Xanatos sighs and then glances over at Bronx "What are you looking at?", then the part of where he looks at the hugging of Elisa and then tells Owen that he hopes a handshake is enough.

  • @Azrael169 Xanatos: What are you looking at ?

Bronx: Stfu or i'll give you a gilcolm gaines make-over!

  • Poor Demona... But when you betray everyone who ever trusts you, you're destined to be alone...

  • A great 4 episode series, they just dont make shit of this quality anymore.

  • @lewiss1100 No but he knew that it was covering up a hidden access point

  • Goliath knew something was wrong with the tapestry bronx was digging at. Did it exist in his time in Scotland?

  • @lewiss1100 No; Xanatos described the tapestry as being from the 12th century, and Goliath and the other gargoyles came from the late 10th century.

  • @lewiss1100 I don't think it did. But, Goliath knows Bronx wouldn't make a scene like that unless something was wrong.

  • Xanatos: Stop blowing holes in my castle!

  • What about the people that were destroyed by Demona??

  • @fEistymus3 they dead

  • It seemed like the rest of the city woke up a few minutes after Elisa and Owen.

  • 6:51 sounds like the short bus.

  • For real tho Demona is the one who got this Fall of the Gargoyles ball rolling. She is the one who betrayed the Princess to the Vikings which lead to the Vikings killing them all. Then she fuckin clawed Gilkumgale's eyes out for no damn reason that lead to him being the Hunter then she betrayed Macbeth leaving the English to have the chance to destroy the rest of her clan. So if she wants to kill anyone then she should just killer herself :/

  • What about the woman that woke up with no arms???

  • So... Xanatos must be a beast at running in heels. Cuz those gargoyle feet are essentially heel-less heels.

  • "...you'll forgive me if I just shake your hand."

    No hugs for Owen.

  • @NunsNBagels2 *forever alone*

  • lol 5:12

  • Xanatoses building is a Architectures dream!

That building is a maculate. Who wouldn't want a building with a castle on-top?!?

  • 2:21 Goliath has a mustache!

  • Man this has to be one of the most underrated cartoons of all time. Each character has so much depth.

  • i love the three sisters so many magic and fun

    gargoyles forever

  • I like the alternative ending. (Typing alone... suddenly time out!) BOOM!

  • Micro-expressions?!?!?!??! This is a freakin kids cartoon!!!!!! Amazing!!!

  • Love, Love, Love this story arc. Scratch that, I love gargoyles. I only know of two other cartoon series that developed charachters with this much depth and history. Watching this show now as an adult is downright educational.

I mean just look at the vocabulary!!!! This show is meant to educate is someways; always including a "moral of the story" type of deal. Magnifcent!

  • @smrttgrl: Forreal. I thinks Gargoyles, ExoSquad (from back in the day) and Avatar: the Last Air Bender are the three coolest I can think of off the top of my head.

  • @smrttgrl Just in case your two other cartoon serials that you mentioned weren't the ones that Greg Weisman had the most involvement in, I highly recommend both The Spectacular Spider-Man and Young Justice (both referring to the shows, not the comics of the same names). I feel that they both have what we like about Gargoyles.

  • macbeth is hot any girls agree

  • @44bluepower damn straight he is! hahaha

  • @44bluepower Agree. "Totally teh sexeh!" as they say. ;)

  • from 6:21 - 6:25 look at Goliath's right ankle, he has a bracelet! I've never noticed that before! thumbs up if u have good eyes like me hahaha

  • wow a whole 1:03 left? Usually they only leave 5 seconds or fewer XD

  • all the citizens of new york are lucky otherwise only natural way for them to come out of their stony sleep is in 3 billion years time when the sun grows and they would be able to live in for short time. Come to think of it they should make a doctor who episode with that type of plot.

  • G:"We must return to the castle!"

    X:"Um...Why?"

    G:"BECAUSE I FREAKING SAID SO,THAT'S WHY!!"

  • what is xanatos a good guy or bad

  • @bobaf15 bad guy. But it doesn't mean he can't put it aside when something bigger than his feuds with others are going on.

  • So, after all that, she still hasn't changed a bit. Man, I hate static characters.

  • @BenHopkins1000 Yeah it kind of sucks that she didn't change but it's more believable that she didn't . She's had a seething hatred for humanity for nearly 1,000 years...after holding a grudge THAT long it's probably hard to let it go.

  • How much does Xanatos pay per month for masonry?

  • "What are you looking at ?" Ha ha, Xanatos is so cool

  • goliath and xanatos just need to screw and get it over with

  • I'm back from just finishing the series. This four part story is the best part of the whole series. It's a little sad they could never top it, but these episodes are truly a work of art.

  • @Nekorin: So, so true. I liked the fact that they didn't treat teenagers like idiots; I remember watching this when it originally aired when I was like 12 or 14 years old and getting all of the concepts. And the stories really meshed together.

  • I love all of them so ok wat happened on part 4???

  • 2 bad for the people demona smashed

  • I actually like it when Xan remained a bad guy to the gargoyles.

  • I can imagine the storyboard room for these story-arc episodes. What a timeperiod peice! A great and truly epic story-arc, as well as a great and truly epic show. I do have one question: Why did the Gargoyles have to fly in the air with the firebombs in the first place? I guess they would have had to throw the bombs up in the air and get out of harm's way as quick as they could. Doesn't seem like a good plan. And in the end, they simply let the Steel Clan do the exploding.

  • DOES ANYONE ELSE SEE THE SIMILARITIES BETWEEN XANATOS AND IRONMAN???!!

  • @XxHellsingrulzxX yes. And how about between Zanatos and Lex Luthor? Both ruthless multi-billionaires who always get what they want or know the reason why.

  • @ARP7777777 Yeah, but Lex (according to Smallville) goes from good-guy to evil. Where as Xanatos goes from manipulative monster to loving father.

  • @XxHellsingrulzxX The difference is, Xanatos doesn't have a drinking problem.

  • @XxHellsingrulzxX No. Iron man has nothing on Xanatos.

  • This multi parts really is one of, if not the, best such instance in animation, period.

  • So all along... this was just a sick game for some power mad aliens? If that was real life, I'd be really angry.

  • Phoebe, Selene, and Luna. Those 3 troublesome bitches!

  • "normally I'd be fascinated by all this but I'm trying to save my city." gotta love Xanatos! LOL

  • 2:37 If someone doesn't butt out one their own, you make 'em. That was just awesome.

  • Damn Xanatos is the most mega-cool kick ass villain ever. If even HALF of the super villians had half his easy going intelligence banal stories would be so much more interesting!

  • 4:02 YOUR city?! When did you buy New York, Xanatos?!

  • @KitaraStrife Who knows, HE IS SUPER RICH!!

  • @LilacSreya Good point.

  • @KitaraStrife Absolutely. No matter how many of his planes, buildings, research labs, robots, laser guns, helicopters, etc. These gargoyles destroy, he doesn't even care about them! Just HOW rich is he?

  • @LilacSreya I know! O_o It's really creepy. Though, not as creepy as my comparing Xanatos and Commander Riker of STAR TREK: TNG to each other the other night while I was on my work break. XDD I actually stopped myself and went "Wait. WTF am I doing?! O__o"

  • @KitaraStrife Wait, you talking about William Riker? He's not Commander, he was the First Officer. And how are they even comparable? They're totally different! :|

You're right, that was creepy. o_O

  • @LilacSreya IMDB has his character titled "Commander William T. Riker," so I went with that. But that's not the point. That episode I was watching had Will being rather... Xanatos-ish. It was kind of scary. 0_o

  • Comment removed

  • @LilacSreya Now I'm asking. XD And suggesting we move to private messages for this now so we don't spam the video.

  • @KitaraStrife Sure, oops, I promise this is the last comment of our discussion on this video. :P You reply in private message..

P.S. - My queen cat will scratch me if I dishonor her, please no questions about her... -_-

  • @LilacSreya Riker gets promoted to Commander later on in the seasons

  • did anyone else find the little girls creepy?

  • 4:55 Poor Demona, how can you not feel sorry for her?

  • @BukkakeSniper you can't really feel sorry for Demona because she created all of her problems. the reason Demona is alone is because of Demona. she's always hated humans & look at what her hatred got her.

  • @loneise21 Demona didn't always hate humans...after the Vikings betrayed her and killed her clan, then her hatred of humans really began

  • @miggy25 i believe she always hated humans. if you go back & look at episodes where the flashback before the clan was destroyed you will see that the inkling of her hatred was there. For example, her teaming with the guy who worked with that Viking dude ( I can't recall their names) so her & clan wouldn't have to serve the humans anymore shows how she despised humans. She wanted humans to serve gargoyles, not the gargoyles serving humans.

  • @loneise21 To me, that's part of what makes me feel sorry for her. She can't change, because first she'd have to admit she's wrong. And having to accept the responsibility for all she's done would destroy her.

  • @Nekorin yeah that's true but I still think she could've changed if she really wanted to especially after learning of Angela. Instead Demona tries to manipulate Angela into hating humans & get her away from Goliath which doesn't work. Her using her daughter in that way shows me why I don't feel sorry for her or even a little sad.

  • @loneise21 That was heinous, but I think Demona would've come to regret that if the series had gone on longer.

  • @Nekorin I agree with you about what would happen if Demona were to try and accept responsibility for what she has done, but I don't think that she's 100% to blame for what happened. I get the feeling that her anger and hatred for humans was deliberately fed...by the Weird Sisters. If you've seen the "Avalon" three-parter, you might know what I mean.

  • @MaskedMan67 Probably that and plus the prejudice experienced in Castle Wyvern. And I agree with everything not necessarily being all her fault. The thing that happened with her and Macbeth was a complete misunderstanding and she let her paranoia take control of the situation. But I gotta admit, teaming up with the guy bent on exterminating her race.....not one of her best decisions.

  • Anyone ever wonder how the Gargoyles and the humans survive these huge falls from the sides of buildings????

  • Macbeth is the coolest character in all the episodes!

  • I always laugh at how Macbeth & Demona fight. Macbeth hits Demona, & he hurts too. Demona hits Macbeth & she hurts too. L0L.

  • City of Stone is the crowning moment of awesome for Gargoyles.

  • 6:12 is why I hate kids. They always take the shit you need.

  • This is the epitome of all Gargoyles villains...If the Pack and Thailog were involved they'd have a full house.

  • That's the passcode?! Damn, this story arc alone has caused me to shed a tear twice! Keep it up Gargoyles, I want to full-out sob next time!

  • It's kind of a shame that Demona and MacBeth never get a shot at the Weird sisters. The Weird sisters used Demona and MacBeth...but Demona and MacBeth both got really good at magic...living long enough to know magic and high-tech weapons much better than the magus and archmage could have hoped for. Demona and MacBeth vs. the Weird sisters would be a cool idea.

  • So very cool when the Weird sisters show up and tell it like it is. They're bitches in the end, but they're appearance here is so, so cool.

  • I really like the Weird sisters' laying out Demona's mistakes to her. It's done well, with simple and yet deep truths and neat music.

  • ha

  • @Demona: FOREVER ALONE

  • Must suck for all the people who were turned into statues that Demona destroyed.

Hopefully when the sun rose or when the spell was broken they didn't turn into mounds of meat on the pavement.

  • @LedosKell They'll be cold stone, like the gargoyles who get smashed as they sleep.

  • @donimoni5366 I understand why kids shows and movies always advocate peace and not killing the bad guys, but it always frustrated me. Some people are better off dead. If Batman had only killed the Joker instead of sending him to Arkham he would have saved millions of lives.

  • @BBknickers Perhaps, but maybe that would inspire Harley Quinn to become a crime queen bigger than he out of vengeance?

  • @BBknickers So... you're not a kid anymore but still haven't understood basic principles of humanity. Quite sad.

  • This is one reason why I'm not too fond of rogues galleries.

  • If Macbeth was only really after Demona, why did he try killing the other gargoyles earlier?

  • @BBknickers Usually because he feels they are getting in his way.

  • @BBknickers

it explains it in the first episode he was in. Macbeth thought that Goliath was apart of her new clan. There for he thought that Demona would come to him. But Goliath laughed at him saying that his plan wouldn't work because him and Demona are enemies. She wouldn't lift a finger to help them

  • I remember I started crying, when Demona told them the access code. Such an awesome series. Even after all those years.

  • @donimoni5366 You're right, but I'll just add something we don't consider in all that. She have lived for 1000 years, anybody would become totally insane living for this long (not talking about gods or else here, but about more more normal living being, human, gargoyles or else). Some people in real life are tired of living after 90 years. And all those years without real love, just some 'friends' (the remaining Gargoyles) and Macbeth.

  • Goliath said the castle was their "ancestral home".. so they had gaurded that place and the humans there for years and years, eventhough they were treated like animals. Demon, and anyone else, has every right to be angry about that. In a sense, she is not wrong in her feelings. However, the lesson learned here is you have to be the bigger person and always show kindness, or it just snowballs into more and more vengeance games.

I think denial is the only way she can deal with everything.

  • I KNEW what she was going to say the code was. I could never have figured it out earlier in the seasons, but watching this, how tragic her story is, I couldn't help but figure it out. Seeing the mistakes she made, the consequences of her actions snowballing into a thousand years of sorrow and regret, beyond her ability to cope. Yet, even knowing this, when she said it, the impact still hit me like a physical wave. It hurt my heart.

  • WTF?! Cartoons aren't supposed to be this deep. It breaks the cycle of mediocrity. And not talking down to kids, expecting them to meet a high standard of taste and intelligence?! Simply not done. Thank goodness Disney came to it's senses and canceled this show. Now we can once again take comfort humdrum entertainment, predictable, cookie-cutter scripts and the lowering of intellectual and conceptual standards. Whew! THANKS DISNEY!!

  • God damn Xanatos kicks ass, so incredibly able to adapt to shifting situations and turn any bad outcome right around within an episode. Disney killing this show for stuff like Hanna Montana?

    *Expletive deleted*

  • I think Demona just wanted a hug. :'( She needs it.

  • "I'm...just so...tired." "The access code is...alone."

Powerful stuff. Such a high quality show.

  • @Shamo17: I'm 32, I still remember the scene when she finally revealed the access code. Powerful indeed.

  • Poor Demona......:''['''''''

  • "The access code is alone"

I almost cried when I heard that

  • I think at this point, even If Demona realises that her own actions in the past caused the death of her clan, she will still hate humans as much as she does now. From what we see in the series, she NEVER liked humans (maybe something happened in her childhood?). She choosed a path of vengeance and destruction over her love, Goliath and her own daughter, Angela. I really don't know what could change her mind... 1000 years of hate won't be forgotten so easily...

  • Poor Demoa. She needs her hatred to survive. If she would admit whose fault it really was, that would certainly destroy her. She needs to hate humanity, because that's what keeps her alive... :( But yet she feels alone.

  • This show is by far some of the best television I have ever watched!!! It ranks up in my favorites such as: Batman the animated series and of course Beast Wars!!!!

  • @MrBrysonification i agree! especially since i've always had the feeling that Goliath was a mix of Batman's look (even the face!), moraity and fightins skills and Oprimus Primal's bulk and leadership skills

  • @TheOnlyTherazan dude you just blew my mind i never thought of that before, but now that you mention it your totally right!

  • 2:36 LOL

  • "The code is . . . alone."

    Always makes me cry.

  • Goliath: 'Stop this madness!'

Demona and Macbeth then both punch Goliath in the face at the same time.

Priceless. THAT was by far the funniest part of the series so far.

  • The Morrigan sisters (or fate sisters if you prefer) are badass!

  • "Yay! You're alive! Hugs!"

"I'm just gonna shake your hand"

  • why even fight each other, there is no point, mine as well punch themselves. this was a good story arc, this one and the native american one way later. demona just kill yourself you will finally have your revenge

  • Has anyone noticed that Demona's right pupil rolls over at 4:50 and then rolls back?

  • Comment removed

  • Only in the 90's could you get away with this kind of story on a kid's show. All the mindless garbage you see today is only degrading kid's minds. Plug more shows like this into Disney and Nickelolodian, you might raise a generation or two of kids who have taste and grew up _thinking_ instead of being told what to think.

  • @SpartanSniper3 I wouldn't call it getting away with it. Most TV shows and films had heart and soul until the late 90's. Now, children and adults alike are being dumbed down so that they don't question what they're told.

  • One of the best story arcs. Thanks for uploading this!

  • Now it makes sense why Macebeth tried to capture Golaith in order to get at Damona!

  • xD Goliath looks like he has a big mustache at 2:22.

  • @Viennatea lmao!

  • @Viennatea very true and he looks like dingo ^_^

  • @Viennatea Yeah he kinda looks like Jesse Ventura in the moment

  • Personally, I really like that they didn't have Demona turn good now. Redemption isn't something that comes in a single epiphany - it would have been so fake if she realized the error of her ways just like that. If she's going to turn good, they'd better do so by a gradual process.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure the three sisters are the Fates.

  • Personally, I really like that they didn't have Demona turn good now. Redemption isn't something that comes in a single epiphany - it would have been so fake if she realized the error of her ways just like that. If she's going to turn good, they'd better do so by a gradual process.

  • Macbeth looks good for 900

  • @teenpain7 maybe he used botox))))))

  • This is why I don't have kids. Kids are creepy.

  • wait a minute...... those three sreepy sisters are the three witches from macbeth, i can't believe i was so oblivious to that...

thanks for Shakespeare in High school.

  • @waterlizardz123 i took shakespear too. i loved Macbeth. that story was...there are no words to describe it

  • I am just so tired...

You really have to feel bad for poor Macbeth. What a life full of tragedy and hardship.

  • Feel the same pain? So Demona falls off a build and gets the shit kicked out of her, and Macbeth is back at his house, trying to enjoy breakfast, not even in the episode, when he gets a back pain like he just hit the pavement at a 1000 feet?

  • @MajBlood They have to be near each other to feel the others pain, like in eye sight or something.

  • @MajBlood

LOL no they have to be in close proximity

  • @MajBlood No, remember? Demona is only able to fall off of a building at night and live so Macbeth wouldn't be eating breakfast. He would be sleeping when he feels like he just hit the pavement. No wonder he's tired.

  • 1:11 Gotta love those Trek references. ^_^

  • That was hell of a knocked out! lol

  • Poor MacBeth ... Good thing Demona never gave birth.

  • @ASKaPHYSICIST technically she did but luckily for him, that was before they met

  • Damn...

As much of a bitch as demona is, you have to sympathize with her. They killed her people, she tried to honor them and make it right, then everything just spiraled downward from there. Everytime, she angrier and angrier, but she couldn't help it. Stuck in a trap not of her making

  • ... If Demona were to be injured on her wings or tail, would MacBeth still feel it? I mean, HE doesnt have said appendages, so one would think he would be safe on that point. Which would make it a raw deal for Demona(like anyone would sympathize), as she could feel any and all of his pain, while he can only feel any, but not all, of hers. Or would he simply feel it in his butt and shoulder blades? (After all, that is where her wings and tail seem to spout from, respectively.)

  • I cannot be the only one who got goosebumps in this episode...

  • Damn Demona is a tru mega bitch. But the thing is she has every right to be. Its sad she can't forgive those in the past or around her and herself.

Goddamn it Disney, What pot were you smoking to cancel this? I wish Demona would come and kick Hannah Montana's ass.

  • @balajimalpani

You are sooo right. Disney has fallen big time. The only things they have going on are Pixar and Marvel Comics. Let's pray that they don't ruin those, too.

  • @HookedOnSonics518 not to say bad things, but they probebly will.

i was watching a show on cartoon network with my friends little sister or whatever & it was soo stupid, it didnt make any sence at all.. >__>

  • @balajimalpani i bet cuz macbeths cuzin died disney got all mad and just cancelled it

  • @balajimalpani Demona kicking HM's butt, YES!!! Then the JoBro's, then the twins, then Dora and her cousin, then the evil rewritten incarnate that is supposed to be Sesame Street, then waste all of Cartoon Netwrok. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!

  • @balajimalpani They were smoking pot when they made this, that's why it was so good

    :)

  • @balajimalpani I agree!!
