It‘s been a while since i have been to USA but everytime we were at the border the American officers were always very polite and in a good mood. Getting into America was as easy as entering a mill. Of course we were asked if we had drugs or guns but we never got searched.
And at the time we were all 18-19 years old potheads dressed as such. But when we were asked if we carried illegal stuff (We did not.) we din‘t got outraged like this guy. We remained polite and cooperative.

The border guard interviewing at 1:25 seems to attempt a more conciliatory tone with, what is by all accounts, a very angry and egotistical Canadian (and I'm a proud Canadian). I find most US border patrol dumb, uneducated, and laughable, yet I nonetheless feed their overinflated egos solely for the purpose of getting away from them as quickly as possible. All those good shopping deals in the States quickly negate the irrelevance known as US federal border patrol or whatever they're called LOL.
The way that these two were treated is COMPLETELY ridiculous! How exactly are they supposed to know the EXACT stores they'll be visiting? Why is questioning why you are being told to sit down an obstruction of justice? Pulling away from an officer is assault? REALLY? Usually, assault involves some form of intent to bodily harm, not trying to get away from people. They have the right to pat you down, frisk you, strip search you, cavity search you and x-ray your tiny penis if they so feel like it. Here you have the epiphany of our society today. Half of the people here say the border guards had the right to treat them like that simply because "they are the law" which is ignorant. This is no different than the "interrogation" I received the last time I traveled back to Canada...except, from Canadian border patrol. I am a dual citizen. I have both American and Canadian ID. The agent asked me about a dozen questions before she waved me through - each question, being on the "suspicious" side. I provided honest answers in a cordial manner. She asked questions as quickly and randomly as the agent did in this video. Don't be an ass if you don't want problems!

Happens all the time. You can see it every time you watch Cops. If they don't like you for whatever reason, the cops will tell you that you've threatened them when you haven't, lecture about how they put their lives on the line, then add a charge of resisting/assault arrest if you flinch. Citizens have their lives on the line too! They'll destroy your life, and people are under the impression that it only happens to bad people. If you are arrested, you will be kept in the US until trial or will be released on bond in accord with the terms imposed by the US court. The Canadian government will not be able to swoop in and protect you from prosecution. The only thing you can do is demand to meet with the Canadian consulate. But the only thing they'll be able to do is advise you; they can't save you from prosecution....

It‘s been a while since i have been to USA but everytime we were at the border the American officers were always very polite and in a good mood. Getting into America was as easy as entering a mill. Of course we were asked if we had drugs or guns but we never got searched.
And at the time we were all 18-19 years old potheads dressed as such. But when we were asked if we carried illegal stuff (We did not.) we din‘t got outraged like this guy. We remained polite and cooperative.

The border guard interviewing at 1:25 seems to attempt a more conciliatory tone with, what is by all accounts, a very angry and egotistical Canadian (and I'm a proud Canadian). I find most US border patrol dumb, uneducated, and laughable, yet I nonetheless feed their overinflated egos solely for the purpose of getting away from them as quickly as possible. They have the right to pat you down, frisk you, strip search you, cavity search you and x-ray your tiny penis if they so feel like it. The agent asked me about a dozen questions before she waved me through - each question, being on the "suspicious" side. I provided honest answers in a cordial manner. She asked questions as quickly and randomly as the agent did in this video. Don't be an ass if you don't want problems!

Before You Just Told Them You Were From Canada, Sometimes The Driver Would Have To Show His Drivers License, then Thats It. Happens all the time. You can see it every time you watch Cops. If they don't like you for whatever reason, the cops will tell you that you've threatened them when you haven't, lecture about how they put their lives on the line, then add a charge of resisting/assault arrest if you flinch. Citizens have their lives on the line too! They'll destroy your life, and people are under the impression that it only happens to bad people. Having said that, these Canadians did give bad "attitude".

If you are arrested, you will be kept in the US until trial or will be released on bond in accord with the terms imposed by the US court. The Canadian government will not be able to swoop in and protect you from prosecution. The only thing you can do is demand to meet with the Canadian consulate. But the only thing they'll be able to do is advise you; they can't save you from prosecution....

Living close to Canada we would just make day trips up there at the drop of a hat but not anymore. It has become such a joke to cross the border that it just isn't worth it anymore. We loved going to Canada too because the people are just cool, laid back and easy going. We always had a great time there! I feel really sad for both sides of our border because they are driving a wedge between us and thats just sad! We have had the best border relations for ever and it has ended just that fast!
