  • Your Father, Brother, and child

  • Why did he choose to die?

  • Why did I feel sadder watching Godric die than I did Sookie's grandmother? Almost in tears watching this the first time.

  • DAMN IT NOOOOOOOO FÆÆÆK GODRIC DON'T LEAVEEEE

  • He's so hot ;3.

  • "I want to burn." Best line ever.

  • Mahirarara, the music is on iTunes. Goodbye Godric by Nathan Barr

  • that very first plea from Eric got me. My eyes get watery every time I see this! Still one of the top moments of True Blood.

  • i want the music from this scene!!!! arghsjdfliuk

  • @mahirarara For the music of this scene just cearch for Nathan Barr - Goodbye Godric

  • Comment removed

  • Well Twilight fagots, Not so sparkly is it now?

  • @TheArchBridge I know Twilight is gay.

  • Goodbye Godric.... Nooooo ='(

  • wow, what a scene!

P.S.: can't believe Allan Ball don't put in the series the gays of Living Dead in Dallas!

  • I started crying when Eric .......so dramatic...

  • I like it how Godric is wearing all white and Eric is in all black, very symbolic.

  • Really good acting...I wanted to cry...still do when watching this. This is like the most touch sence I have seen in like forever.

  • I cried for a hour.. OMFG WHY!!! WHY!!!! HE WAS SO GOD LIKE....I LOVED HIM!!!

  • Blue Flames EPIC!1 ;)

  • Godric's Danish accent when he talks Swedish is cute ;)

  • i cry but damn i'm a boy

  • Alexander Skarsgård- you are an amazing actor! Your character development abilities are amazing! Not too mention you are unearthly beautiful ;)

  • as it is called the song that appears in the background?

  • troppo bravo l'attore che interpreta Godric!

  • This scene, as well as Gran's death, was one of the saddest moments in True Blood. Also, the end of season 4. Not saying what that is, in case somebody hasn't watched it yet.

  • Godric talks better Swedish than my Danish teacher. LOL but it sounds so funny

  • Very nice acting and awesome scene.

But why does Godric (2000 years old) burn up in the blink of an eye and will the king from season 3 (don't remember his name), who is 3000 years old, take much longer to burn to death in the sun?

  • @myfacewhenIpenguin Because Russell drank Sookie's blood

  • That was and awesome scene. One of my favorite.

  • This was the most emotional part of this whole entire series. I LOVED GODRIC!! He was the best Vampire ever! He was truly amazing... I miss seeing his face.

  • So let me get this straight Eric, you threaten to keep your maker alive by force...yet you totally threatened to kill Pam for saving your own ass?

  • @x0xTHLover4Lifex0x well that scene made no sense in general... but contrived writing aside, it was meant to show how Pam is not the only thing Eric cares about anymore, and while it's totally understandable that Pam would do anything to save him, she was also being selfish in a way, as we all are when we lose someone we love. They were all tired and frustrated and not thinking.... but mostly I think both Eric and especially Pam were written OOC a lot this year so it's hard to analize things...

  • Does anyone know why Godric was Eric's maker in the show? I know it's way different in the book. I must say I like this version better and I wish it had been this way in the book. But I suppose Alexei Romanov and Appius Livius Ocella aren't too terrible either...

  • @roxyfinn Godric liked the way Eric fought on the battlefield he said he had never seen anyone fight that hard, and to my conclusion he loved his warrior personality. Just watch the clip of when Eric is made.

  • He left too soon. It would be neat if Godric could do something to help in Season 4, as he and Antonia are on the same plane and he has so much love in him whereas she is full of hate.

  • "God doesn't punish, he forgives". Got to call BS on that. There are numerous occasions in the bible where god kills many, namely flooding the whole world.

  • @driftwood20 That's the God of the old testement, I wouldn't read that if I were you and the new testement has been majorly changed by the early christian leaders. There is only one rule in God's kingdom: treat others as you wish to be treated. I wish people could see beyond the catholic church, God is full of mercy, love and above all forgiveness

  • it's too bad we didn't get to know him better

  • This one scene alone is a trillion times better than all of the Twilight movies and books put together.

    Beautifully written and acted.

The only regret one may have is having a great character die so soon in the storyline.

    Also, Twilight sucks.

  • I've never heard a more beautiful cry from a man. I just wanted to wrap my arms around Eric.

  • I don't understand why when Eric and Russell where in the sun they didn't burn as fast as Godric. Even someone closer to his age as Russell. Or why his face and body didn't get all burnt looking like Russell's did.

  • @MrSinister84 Because Eric and Russel had fairy's blood in them! (Sookie's)

  • @MrSinister84 i think it had to do with the fact that he was so pure and still retained all of his humanity and how old he was.

  • @maluse227

That might be it as well.

  • @MrSinister84 Godrick was at peace with the world and everything around him, I think it has to do with the fact he needed very little blood to stay alive.. he had evolved into something greater.. And as he is still very much connected to Eric,, is how and why Eric still sees him..

  • LOVE that scene....thx for uploading

  • This scene alone will always prove that True Blood is 100 times better than twilight

  • i cried trough the whole video ;/ especially when Godric says: Vi har haft århundraden av kärlek och tillit till varandra... ;(

    Poor, poor Eric.. <3

  • I like when he threatens to keep Godric alive by force but you can see immediately after in Erics' expression that he knows there's no possible way of doing so and that the mere idea of trying seems to frighten him

  • Now this is one of the many reasons why I consider True Blood as an excellent show, they don´t care to kill one of the most important characters moments after he first showed up, because things like that happens to us and happens to the fictional characters also, being a "tough" man I found this scene very touching.

  • @Warxoth i hear that bro, i was just thinking, being gay love or just devotion and comradship, can you imagine what its like to walk the ages along side your "father" and "brother" for a thousand years....if this was real Eric would be inconsolable forever...

  • Amazing scene. Haven't seen it since it aired but it still made me cry.

  • the music is beautiful too

  • I dont know why but I really liked how they didnt put subs for when Godric said "father, brother, son"

  • GODIC NO! ! This scene makes me cry every time i see it

  • With the Wikkens in season 4 who's to say Godric won't be back with magical spell?

  • @bsimester2010 Wiccans ..

  • its kinda poetic how godric's in all white and eric's in all black

  • I don't belive he is dead.

Rusell started to burn in the sun and he was older than Godric.

    I hope he'll come back

  • @bladewcw Rusell also drank Sookies blood, so it would take longer.

  • @bladewcw The sun was just starting to come out. You can actually see him starting to burn @ 4:20 . Took him a full minute to burn.

  • i don't deserve it. but i hope for it ~ godric 2000 years of wisdom

  • this made me wanna cry

  • OMG THIS!!! SCENE IS JUST.......BEAUTIFUL =/ AWWW

  • Best scene by far in the series.

  • suck on this twilight. THIS is how a real vampire dies

  • @CocoaBean2990 i really need to go read those books. i heard that they are just as amazing as the show. I love the show so those should be no different in oppinion for me.

  • It's crazy how a character who just got introduced verbally few episodes ago and visually couple ago, could create such an amazing reaction. Beatiful scene.

  • @anttiantti92 i think the reason behind that was because everyone had seen Eric as a heartless bastard most of the series so far. Godric brings a whole new side, a side many have wanted to see of Eric. Eric was the kind of character everyone wanted to like but could not. This time they acually get to. This was a beautiful scene because Godric also was a very wise vampire and brought a new side to vampires. He is strong but peaceful. He was kind yet showed strength. This we all loved about him.

  • @NixxGrimBlood Dead on. Eric had been basicly untouchable, so much older than anyone else, basicly controlling everything in Louisiana, but Godric humbled him right away.

  • @anttiantti92 Eric is arrogant but I agree Godric is about the only being on this earth that he had and does have respect for.

  • @anttiantti92 Yeah he did. But once Godric was his enabler.

  • I love how this is scored. So, so beautiful.

  • Bloody tears streaming down my face right now...

  • i really cried when i watched this.......

  • I cried :'( Oh Godric, why did you have to die

  • i was bawling :( nooo Godric!

  • this is fucking epic great

  • This was beautifully acted. You could really see the emotions on each of their faces. Especially the chemistry between Allan Hyde and Alex Skarsgard. And then the emotions between Anna Paquin and Allan Hyde. The scene is well written and it's not too melodramatic, it's beautiful, meaningful and it's perfect.

  • I love when he said 'I can take the blame for that too" regarding Eric, you feel so bad for him, and you feel so bad for eric, this really was his father, his family willingly leaving him.

whether Godric really committed suicide or not, he still willingly left Eric, maybe it was the best for him, but it was pretty cruel to Eric

but the pure epicness of this scene makes me so sad I can't blame Godric...

  • Russel is 1000 years older than Godric and he didn't burn up anywhere near as fast. I don't get it.

  • @PlanetAgnostic

as I remember he drank of Sookie's blood. in the series fairy blood protects from sun for a while. that's why he didn't burn.

  • @PlanetAgnostic and moreover as far as I remember Godric didn't feed on human blood for quite a long time and was weak. Inspite of Russel :)

  • Well atleast he didnt sparkle....

  • Alexander Skarsgård is amazing here.

  • I started crying when I saw this scene in Youtube, even though I'm not so big True Blood-fan.... :'(

  • Godric was not committing suicide. He died when he was made as a vampire. This entire episode was his contrition, atonement, and penance, letting go of the things that held him to evil. He wanted to burn because it would cleanse him. All this said, there is a VERY fine line between self sacrifice and suicide. I would ask those of us out there contemplating ending your life to know that you are not as alone as you feel, and there is ALWAYS a better way. Be strong and find it.

  • @jpjscott after two thousand years, I think Godric was just at a state he couldn't separate his life and death anymore. I mean, the guy just sits there, like an old man because his life was over so long ago without the violence to fill it, it's really just a shell now.

  • ...So His pants burned with him?

  • @robertsom Lol!!! Well He was on fire :-)

  • @robertsom He should've taken them off

  • I loved Godrick so so much! He was more humane than any human, he was so good and pure! Then when Eric starts to cry those bloody tears, I burts into tears myself! :'(

  • @LOVxxE Godric*

  • When Eric says "Please Please. Please Godric" i tear up everytime... All 3 actors Allan, Anna and Alex are brilliant in this scene... And when Godric asks "How will He punish Me?" I so feel 4 Him. Godrics so vunerable at this point. Thank the God's Sookie was with Him in the end. And Godric's line "I WANT to burn' sounds so joyous... Love this so much....

  • Why does such an amazing character like Godric have to die so soon?? He made only two episodes... Dammit, I liked him!

  • I think Alex is so beautiful when he cries.. hmm and i really don't think they got all the Swedish parts right though they've got Alexander

  • RIP godric wish they would not have killed him off he was truly amazing in True blood

  • truly truly touching it was done perfect an they where both amazing,,, evertime i c this i cry

  • Comment removed

  • i did cry watching this scene. we'll miss you godric.

  • i felt so sad that i couldnt properly watch this episode. my mouse was having her babies and i wandered off to check on her. when i came back sookie was saying goodbye and godric was finally meeting his end. it was such a beautiful way to go. instead of being in even more pain. he seemed more relieved that his pain was over and not just getting worse . i plan on naming on of my lil males after him.

  • i love u godric

  • 2 people are from the fellowship

  • Its a little fun to watch how Eric went from asshole to... this... then back to asshole

  • Note: The Christian God definitely punishes despite what liberal Protestants would have us believe. The "God is love" crowd may solve theodicy but they have to repudiate large swathes of the Bible and millennia of religious tradition. Don't be fooled, Christianity is not about love.

  • @TacticusPrime Who says that Sookie believes in a Christian God?

  • @Blueghost1000 She talks about Jesus all the time...

  • the first time i watched this i cried like a baby.

  • it says online that he'll be back for the next season... just a flashback or...?

  • @mimimirwitch I've seen it. It's flashbacks, good ones but still just flashbacks

  • This scene stunned me, especially when he broke down he put on such a hard exterior and to see him actually care for something was such a surprise. a real testament to the fact skarsgard is a damn good actor

  • when eric started crying i pretty much burst into tears...so emotional..

  • i love this escene it's so great but i have only a question when the subtitles appears they speak in vampires's language or in nordic?

  • Comment removed

  • @anycantseeme Perhaps someone answered you already, but they speak in Swedish.

  • I think its the line "A human with me at the end" Reminds me of the line from return of the king when Frodo says to sam " I'm glad your with me, at the end of all things" Or something like that. That makes my eyes watery

  • You know what I loved about this episode? No cliff hanger at the end.

Now, although its a low grade crappy american tv series. that is some quality fucking acting right there. Absolutely brilliant.

  • Why would you be so cwuel?

  • anyone knows the music playing the background starting at 3:50 ?

  • @randomvidz94 Goodbye Godric by Nathan Barr. You can find it on Youtube...

  • i cried when i first saw this and that's rare because i didn't even cry in my grandpa's funeral

  • Latecomer to the True Blood series and literally just watched this episode. I cried so hard during this scene and i can't even remember the last time I cried. I had to come here immediately to put this clip in my favorites. So amazing.

  • at 1:32 Eric starts laughing :(

  • @creolelady70 -- I believe that's his sob.

  • 2 people don't have hearts

  • @zmikey08z only cause mary ann cut them out

  • when sookie and godric are talking I just wanna give Godric a hug, I think he needed a hug

  • @Clwsfan864 he needed some BBQ sauce lol

  • It's the saddest scene I've ever seen in this series! I've cried nad I've never seen Eric crying! And Gordic speaks German... Vater, Bruder, Sohn...

Ohh.... I love it but I still have to cry...

  • @VeganChcoholicXXx

No, thats abolutely not german. The Pronounciation is totaly different (I am german). ;)

    Its swedish, I would say.

But yes. This Scene is totaly awesome. :)

I love the soundtrack, when the sun rises...

  • @VeganChcoholicXXx

  • Godric had not fed for quite awhile combined with his age explains why he was consumed as quickly as he was. He had fully repented for his past doings and was spared the pain pain. Truly a peaceful ending.

  • 2 people should meet the sun

  • This made me cry....

  • Although obviously very upset to see such an awesome character as Godric's meet the sun, I was also extremely pleased with this scene. I remember Alexander Skarsgård getting a lot of flak off the back of Season 1 for just being the show's 'eye candy', but Season 2, and this scene in particular, really gave him the opportunity to show what an incredible actor he really is, and shut his critics up once and for all. His chemistry with Allan Hyde here is amazing.

  • Umm maybe because the sun had just rose.....so maybe vampires burn quicker than :S

  • When Godric says "We've had centuries of faith and love between eachother" in Swedish, he actually say Faith and love in the different order. That was sentence that annoyed me a lot. "Vi har haft århundranden av kärlek och tillit till varandra" where "Kärlek" means love and "tillit" means faith/trust. Other then that, this scene is so god damn epic it hurts. I've seen it 20 times and I almost start to shed tears when I see Eric so weak and vulnerable.

  • @Hencytjo I thought it might have been Danish because the actor is Danish but it's good you can tell us what he said.

  • @Hencytjo Shiiit I just realised that!! xDDD

  • @Hencytjo No one thinks your smart cause you know swedish...

  • @Johnigean

    Actually, some people do :o

  • Godric is younger than Russel. Godric was only 2,000 years old. Russel was close to 3,000. The reason it takes Russel so long is because of Sookies blood.

  • This is very hard for me to translate because both of the actors keep going between norwegian, swedish and danish throught the scenes they speak in.

  • every time i see this i cry when grodric dies ans=d eric is sooo sweet!

  • It makes me sad Godric died. But this was a beautiful scene, and really does make you think about life and death.

  • I thought this scene was the saddest scene yet, becasue Eric never cries :(

  • I was so upset when I watched this episode, Godric was my absolute favortie character.

He reminded me of Angel off Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

So kind and loving for a vampire

Looking forward to the Godric flash backs in Season 3!

    <3

  • In the books, Godric (who, in this century went by the name of Godfrey) was 1,000 years old. And he died pretty much the same way, in front of Sookie, though not on top of a tall building. Sad.

  • I have to come back and watch this scene again and again. I have to say that Eric's acting was so genuine. I admit that I almost cried during this.

  • godric and eric rox

  • what beautiful tears that Eric shed for Godric

  • i seen this so many times xD but evrytime i see eric cry i cry Dx
