You can get quite a lot of good stuf with 3000 dollars.. I have the dell xps 17 with.
- i7 2630qm
-3 gb nvidia gt555m (3D capable)
- 8 gb of RAM I can almost play any game on ultra with 30fps or up. (exept the supereavy games like bf3 and metro) but i use it for graphic design too and i like it a lot.
Guys can anyone suggest a good gaming laptop? I want to play Skyrim and the previous Fallouts on it. I don't want it crashing or lagging. I have not one clue about laptops so fuck.
i got an important message, sorry for grammar mistakes.
is the speed of the processor the same for laptop compare to a desktop? like if the laptop is i7 2.4 ghz and the desktop is also the same, is the speed the same? or is the desktop version 5x faster?
cause i heard that both use the same size chip. so im guessing the speed is the same.
im trying to compare a gaming laptop and my desktop to see if i should buy the laptop
I was watching this and when he said 'you can't get a laptop as powerful or more powerful than a desktop' I was like 'WTF!' I have an alienware m18x and it's more powerful than my dads iMac.
i know nothing about laptops and i want a cheap laptop that is good at playing games on (like WOW and minecraft etc.) without crashing and lagging all the time like my crappy comp does. if anyone has got any suggestions on witch model/brand i should get, or even a website/shop i should get it from then i would be HUGELY grateful!!
Best gamut laptop I have seen is the Asus G73SW, standard model is around $1600 American. Go to a site like xoticpc.com and you can change pretty much anything you want. Only drawback is the nvidia 460m that you get stuck with.
Besides the Alienware M11x, what other notebook can play most video games at medium or higher setting that also has a good battery life for school work and on the go?
Depends on what you want to spend, but Dell has some XPS laptops with the latest intel processors and maybe a GT 555M with switchable graphics, all with battery in mind.
Today(2011) the good gaming laptop should be around $1500 and under. Why you have to pay more!? with budget $700 you can buy a good gaming laptop able to handle Call of Duty: Black Ops and StarCraft 2 ran fluently in high details and 1360×768
Sager makes the best notebooks hands down, great warranty and resellers, they run super cool, they aren't factory underclocked, and you can change the thermal compound on components, easily and without voiding the warranty. They're also great value, and finally, many models allow you to upgrade your CPU/GPU. Awesome.
@lespaulplayer06 Meh, thats not that great a deal, for that money you could have a GTX 470 in a 15 inch notebook with better cooling. Go to XoticPC and check out Sager.
can somebody help my im new in pc gaming and want to buy a gaming laptop wich one should i buy my budget is max 1200 euros (i live in europe ) and i want to play games on it like l4d2 cod bc2etc pleas reply
@842hotdog Medion Erazer X6811 this one. 15.6 inch screen gtx 460m and i5 460m for 1000 euros. its on resolution of 1366 768 so you should get pretty good performance
I need a laptop that i can play flight simulator on. I have a dell right now and i can't turn the details at all. All of them are on minimal. It as about 250 hard drive and 3g memory. It's a Inspiron 1525. Processor is Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual T3200 @ 2.ooGHz. 32-bit vista. I need some advice. I know nothing about computers. Can you help me. My Email is damonbradley32@gmail.com. Hello Prabh! Take a look at notebookcheck, net - There you will find comparison of laptop graphics cards, notebook purchase consultation, Mobile Processors - Benchmarklist, Laptop reviews.. etc,etc.. A good web page that can help you decide on your purcase.
$3000.00??? really hes actually asking if he could get a good gaming laptop to run crisis, COD, and editing vid graphics ... for $3000.00 he could get any top of the line gaming laptop in todays market. plus accessories!
yeh i was wondering wich gaming laptop would be able to play the new Blade and Soul MMORPG game coming this 2011, the game play is just as the trailers are in youtube, i want a laptop that can play it at full graphics, i wanted to know if there is a powerfull enough laptop to do so? thnx in advance
yeah, i have the AW m17 and its a great machine. my only problem is that there are times, when i turn it on. nothing happens. sayings "Windows starting" n thats it. i left mine for 20 minz once n i came back to see the same screen. had to force shut down.
the annoying this is, when its up and running its amazing. can run any game on full power with no frame rate issuses.
AW are useless on the phone as well. was on the phone for about 45 minz once! lame as shit.
@MadsieBoy What are we talking about here at all? Gaming laptops? Really? "Gaming laptop" is a myth, a bait for customers to buy overpriced devices that can't perform as good as a desktop pc can. They aren't suitable for gaming on vacations or someplace outside your house... Just because their batterys are pure shit(just because current level of technology is too low to make something better).
@MadsieBoy Yes, I can take charging device with me...just like I can take my desktop...and my dog and my grandma to carry the monitor and... Why don't I just take my whole house with my on vacation, with mobile nuclear generator? The point of all crap I typed above, is that mobile gaming device(aka laptop) must be used for gaming WITHOUT having tones of troubles they cause atm. Right now gaming laptops can serve only as mobile heater(not for too long)
im sorry but if you think that the asus g73 range are the best gaming laptops then your wrong.alienware can have up to i7 980x extreme,8gb ddr3 memory,2x ati hd 5870 and much more.alienware m17x,no matter how expensive it is,is the best gaming laptop on the planet, and dell has actually got the legal rights to claim that.
@aidanrox117 im with ya man i just got my alienware m11x with i7 8gb of RAM 500gb hard drive and the nvidia gt 335m and it has been awesome no complaints on alienware at all
@JakkIsBakkInBlakk ha, i know. but now the m 18x can have up to 32 gb ddr3 ram, an intel i7 2600k, and up to 2 hd6990s. but yea, even though they arent desktop they still are the best for laptops.
i think that the cheapest desktop replacement is ACER Aspire 5553G-N934G64Mn AMD Phenom™ II X4 quad-core mobile processor N930 (2 MB L2 cache, 2 GHz, 1333 MHz FSB, 35 W) 4GB DDR3 1 GB ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 with PowerXpress™ technology Switchable Graphics technology, up to 40836 MB of HyperMemory™ (1 GB of dedicated DDR3 VRAM, up to 30593 MB of shared system memory), supporting Unified Video Decoder (UVD), OpenEXR High Dynamic-Range (HDR) technology, Shader Model 5.0, and dx11
ok how about u guys google asus then going into the gaming laptop section, then hit up the g73 models a-1,a-2 and x i think and all ur spec and in detail ,i mean common u cant go wrong with 8gigs of ram 4- ram bay areas, and 1 gig of the latest amd card not forgetting there a newer 1 comming soon
aleinwear (mx17) or Asus G73Jh. im heavily into game programming so i want a pc that can run high detail programs with no lag, the features i want on the AW costs total about 3k, thanks.
@sniperownsuhard thanks to madeofblackice for the referral to the Asus G73Jh!!! looks SO amazing! and to think i was going to spend 3,200 on an alienwear laptop that does not
i would get the g73 but its out of stock everywhere and the place that does have it they overprice it. Ordering from xoticpc (cheapest laptops) will make me wait 5-7wks due to shortages. So i decided to get a sager, sager is actually one of the best laptop producers
im getting the asus G73jh a1 with 8 gigs of ram and ATI Raedon or radeon however its spelled.. 5870. core i7. 1 TB hard drive... can anyone tell me if thats really good for editing call of duty montages?
@HushedDeath Well alien ware is made by dell also you have to buy almost every upgrade for it to make it decent and its really not worth it plus theres no cd drive personally im buying a ASUS G72 or G73 its way better. hope this helps
@matter0464 i've actually made up my mind now, and i've grounded on getting the Asus g73jh , it's the same as alienware, but cheaper, and it doesn't have the fancy ass case. i hear that there are different models of it though, like the a1 or a2, something like that. do you all of the differences in the different models by any chance?
@HushedDeath i would actually go with the m11x, i am on one now and i think that it is better than the 15. it is better built, it feels sturdier cuz i have heard some complaints about the feel of the quality of the 15 and 17. it is a little bit less costly and its not like snap your wrist heavy. it has binary graphics cards which is nice.
@HushedDeath the only cons that i have found so far is the space bar doesnt work occasionally, like 1 out of 75 keystrokes (if you hit the spacebar with your right hand, that is) and that it does not come wiht a cd drive (but you can buy an external one like i have)
@HushedDeath around $50 or so, nothing too terrible, you can get one shipped with the laptop if you customize it and all from dell's website, but it is still $50 but you get it with the laptop.
im surprised no one has mentioned mine on youtube it can run every thing including crysis at full spec right out of the box its asus G51j series and it was only like $999.99 and it has i sick blue finish that looks like it got ripped by a monster :D oh and it lights up like alienqueer 1s XD but yeah i got it as a refund from my older one that was bigger and snow white and lit up too and the one i have is faster but cost $400 less but for sum reason this 1s faster :/ if only i waited a few months
@MSEvanGuy actually looks pretty classy to me, at least it's not lit up like a christmas tree (i mean compare to alienware or the new and very similar msi gx660)
@TechKnowlogee Well, I see you're alienware fan... I'm not. Neither I'm an alienware hater. I really like the new design of their desktops. It's great. But apart from design, the quality of the hardware they use is....questionable. "Alienware Certified" components made by an unknown manufacturer in a completely unknown place. Some even looking like slightly redesigned products of a different brands like Corsair. So why would I pay for alienware, when asus provides same performance for lower pric
Buddy, the G73 and the Alienware m17x, each with the same specs will be the SAME in terms of performance.
Bare in mind: I like Alienware. But the thing is that why would i go for AW and pay 4,000$ for a laptop with the same exact specs, great design, and performance for HALF the price?
Dont get me started on Dell's shitty warranty. ASUS will pwn the market if AW keeps pricing their shit that high.
@RussianInquisition Thats just it. ASUS can't keep up with AW's specs. I wanted the G73 and have used BOTH and now I want the AW because surpasses ASUS in nearly every field. And as for dell I have had good luck with their customer service.
Useless adviced, u can buy a good laptop at this time like MSI gaming laptop that is the cheapest laptop you can buy, you can play there like COD4, NBA 2k10, FRYCRY, and many more
I'm buying a used computer: Asus G50VT-X6 for $750CDN. The computer is in mint condition. Do you think it's worth it to buy it at this price or should I go for some brand new computer?
i was wondering if you could just mod one... put an extenable hard drive on, get a new graphics card, depends if youv'e got dual processers or not and then i would proably see what would happen from there. do u think this would work?
HP HDX16. 1080p Resolution, Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT, Core 2 Duo P7450 @2.13GHz, 16" and Blu Ray optical drive. Also, 7200RPM 320GB HDD and 4GB ram. About 800-1,100 US dollars. I got mine for 1250 AUD.
It is pretty pricey id say around 5 grand maxed.... but I was just telling that guy who listed the system and said it was better than the alienware m17x maxed out. which is not even close to being true lol the alienware m17x if your willing to afford it can out perform most desktops
I salivate at the ASUS W90 Notebook. It has dual video cards in it and a HUGE screen. 3 grand will buy a upper end version of this laptop since it starts at $2200.
Buying any prebuilt computer is a rip off. Just watch a some videos on how to put together your own system and buy the parts on your own. Every computer expert will tell you building it yourself is much better on your wallet. Thats the best choice as far as a PC goes but with laptops you are kind of screwed.

im surprised no one has mentioned mine on youtube it can run every thing including crysis at full spec right out of the box its asus G51j series and it was only like $999.99 and it has i sick blue finish that looks like it got ripped by a monster :D oh and it lights up like alienqueer 1s XD but yeah i got it as a refund from my older one that was bigger and snow white and lit up too and the one i have is faster but cost $400 less but for sum reason this 1s faster :/ if only i waited a few months

@MSEvanGuy actually looks pretty classy to me, at least it's not lit up like a christmas tree (i mean compare to alienware or the new and very similar msi gx660)

@MadeofBlackIce WRONG! Alienware with the correct specs beat the crap out of an ASUS G73jh-A1
TechKnowlogee 1 year ago
@TechKnowlogee Well said! Alienware will beat the crap out of anything...with it's PRICE :P
MadeofBlackIce 1 year ago
@MadeofBlackIce You get what you pay for! AlienWare has a high price for high performance.
TechKnowlogee 1 year ago
@TechKnowlogee Well, I see you're alienware fan... I'm not. Neither I'm an alienware hater. I really like the new design of their desktops. It's great. But apart from design, the quality of the hardware they use is....questionable. "Alienware Certified" components made by an unknown manufacturer in a completely unknown place. Some even looking like slightly redesigned products of a different brands like Corsair. So why would I pay for alienware, when asus provides same performance for lower pric
MadeofBlackIce 1 year ago
@TechKnowlogee They even have same design :P
MadeofBlackIce 1 year ago
@TechKnowlogee
RussianInquisition 1 year ago
@RussianInquisition Thats just it. ASUS can't keep up with AW's specs. I wanted the G73 and have used BOTH and now I want the AW because surpasses ASUS in nearly every field. And as for dell I have had good luck with their customer service.

actually i messed up the specs before the alienware m17x now has the capability of this in it:
Processor: Up to a 2.53ghz intel core 2 extreme quad with a 1033mhz FSB
Graphics: Up to DUAL GTX 280m nvidia graphics cards
Display: 17inch 1920x1200 1200p HD LCD
RAM: Up to 8GB 1333mhz DDR3
HDD: Up to 2 x 1TB RAID 0 HDDs SATA II 3.0GB/s
CD/DVD: A BLU RAY PLAYER
I'd say that far outbeats that little system u posted there....

Price tag?

It is pretty pricey id say around 5 grand maxed.... but I was just telling that guy who listed the system and said it was better than the alienware m17x maxed out. which is not even close to being true lol the alienware m17x if your willing to afford it can out perform most desktops

Laptops are not great for gaming...
I strongly recommend desktop because it is much better and faster to play high-end games.
You don't want to bend your back of your neck all the time while playing on a laptop which is not good.
And laptops can't use very very powerful video card to play such as CoD 4, Crysis, and more. So it is so expensive and waste of money to purchase...

Buying any prebuilt computer is a rip off. Just watch a some videos on how to put together your own system and buy the parts on your own. Every computer expert will tell you building it yourself is much better on your wallet. Thats the best choice as far as a PC goes but with laptops you are kind of screwed.
