nice gas cap. i have the same bike with a k and n filter, power commander III and vance and hines slip ons. i am very pleased; although im still scheduled for a dyno/adjustment just because i want the best possible performance

@what1961 I bought a 2009 XL1200 custom sportster last September, and I had Vance and Hines slip - ons fitted. (Noise saves lives! You can hear this one coming!)

I thoroughly recommend it, and having had the good fortune to visit Beautiful British Columbia twice I really envy you with those awesome roads!

It will be an incredible experience to ride the Harleyon the Trans Canada Highway!

We bought a 2008 Sporty 1200 Custom and is it ever agile. I own a Heritage Classic and can't even begin to lean the turns like I can on the Sportster. The pickup is quite fast and it cruises nice. One drawback: I feel like I am going to slide off the back of that stock seat. I am looking at Mustang seats.

Crotch rockets aren't for me. They are too uncomfortable and definately are not bikes to take on long hauls. I have rode this Sportster 3 times back and forth between New Mexico and California in the last ten months, try doing that on one of your crotch rockets and see how far you get.

i now own a sporty and a triumph bonnie america due to my back i can't ride crotch rockets but i never had comfort problems with my rd350lc gpz900r ninja or trimph speed triple

harleys are comfortable but they dont handle or have a lot of power you have to spend a lot on them to get them to do that

So, after all that time, which one should i buy ?I live in the rockies in Golden bc Canada and i'm about to buy an america or 1200 low custom Harley. what do you suggest. I am 48 and bored with my 1979 Hondamatic 400 low custom, hahaha. My daughter is 11 and my girlfriend likes ridind with me in the evening. And they dont mind me getting a bigger bike. tx man Michel.

If you havent gotten any pipes yet I highly recommend SAMSON PIPES. I have a 06 883 XL Custom (Carberated, yours is fuel injected) with SAMSON STREETSWEEPERS and man they ROCK!. I just put them on and that was it. And also I put on a Kareyakun Hypercharger, I would be careful about getting one of those, mine leakes oil from the filter.

If you decide to get a aftermarket try looking into a DJM airfilter. Your bike looks nice keep it up.
