Voltaire are absolutly unmatched in the gypsy gothic indie pop somewhat steam punk genre... That being said he's also my faviorite musician, and I think going mainstream would do him an injustice, as many bands sell their souls to major label companies only to be put in a box and inevitably selling out... voltaire is probably more popular today than he has ever been,. The last album released, as well as the ones he's working on now , are all self-released. I give him much props for doing that and being successful. Its funny how he's super popular among the unpopular lol anyway i don't think you need to worry about that ever happening.

Voltaire is married, I believe he got married sometime last year or earlier during this year. His son is 10 years old, I believe. He's a sweet kid, I got to talk to him for a while about BioShock so yeah he is pretty much present not future. If you have any other questions I can answer :] I know too much...lol

Hmm well, if you look on his myspace, he lists Duran Duran and Rasputina as his influences. Probably others but thats what I can remember off the top of my head. I know he likes a lot of Tim Burton's stuff, mostly about outcasts like Edward Scissorhands I think his favorite of Burton's films is Corpse Bride though. I'm not sure for movies really, you can always ask him yourself. He's really sweet when it comes to fans
