Senator Adams, when your constituants hear your arrogant outburst on Youtube, you may not have to worry about your "public assistance" wage of $70,000.00 base salary. They may relieve you of your problem by not returning you to office as a "public servant". As all of my employers have told me when the subject of fair reimbursment for services has come up....."if your not happy here, QUIT and go work somewhere else."

who the hell cant live on $80,000 a year???? Im insulted that he's asking for a raise and saying he cant live on 80,000 a year. i live in ny and taxes here r sticking high already. me and my wife make alittle over $50,000 a year together and r doing just fine. we go on a summer vacation for a week or more have nice cars,clothes, dont have any Credit cards big 3 bedroom apt,nice things. yeah we dont have kids yet but come on. i just wonder how much his wife make a year or if he has another job.
The NY State Legislature has not received a raise since (IIRC) 1999. He was a little lengthy with his speech, but they deserve one. I'm a conservative, but if you think that "public Service is a higher calling" and therefore we shouldn't pay people in the public sector comparable salaries to similar jobs in the public sector then you should expect to find nothing but lazy people with no ambition in civil service jobs. How would you be if your salary was frozen at its 1999 level?
