  • this is that time of the well done british video...his moves in 77 were still fluid...after the gangwar time he couldnt quite "do' his first self anymore......

  • lure said at the end, theres to many junkies up here with me

  • hey richard8754 man dont waste your time with those fools man, people are used to "easy listening" tunes its no wonder they have become dumbass douches and cant appreciate good music..All the 80's Sleaze/hair metal bands like Motley Crue and G n R were following JT's steps on music and image,he was a punk/glam godfather and until today remains a fuckin legend..screw the rest...

  • @mariosthunders Yeah,you're right

  • @mariosthunders

    Amen!

  • 8754dick knows dick. all ya gotta do is go to bing, and watch em play that tune wimpy lure wrote, wich is a very good tune, and watch johnny at the beginning of the song, and some backstage footage thats on there befor the song starts. not only is someone helping the wasted johnny.t. they shoe wimpy tuneing with the dude. Johnny was very good way back when , but no longer at this point. But he did truely enjoy pulling the wool over anyones eyes he could, and that obviously includes you 8754dick

  • @idontwantohurtnobody You really are a dumb piece of shit. That guy you are talking about is Brian James, who produced this video together with Thunders. You are so annoying,if you don't know what you are talking about better shut the fuck up.

  • @8754richard my dead fingernail clippings have more talent than your entire being, you vermin!

  • @idontwantohurtnobody Hahaha what talent, you don't even have a life asshole.

  • @8754richard My left nut has forgotten more than you'll ever know....you deusch bag!

  • @idontwantohurtnobody Hahahahaha I read the comments on your page, you really are pathetic. Stupid amateurtroll, and your not even funny.

  • dont really care what anyone says it was a great show

  • One track mind ♥ I love this song :) nowdays Walter Lure sings that song on his shows ♥ Johnny Thunders is the best guitar player on the history of the music for me!!! I love you Thunders Always on my mind and my heart (L)

  • i think its just dumb to diss walter, who carried many a show when johnny was too fucked up to play, JT with both the dolls and heartbreakers remains grossly underrated, but dont blame walter, blly, or jerry, who with johnny remain one of the most influential kick ass groups EVER!!!

  • immortale

  • Poor little New Yawk Boys...

  • Hey Scumbags listen to the great music he made and quit complaining.

  • theres parts where i hear johhny sliding up the neck or hitting notes but he doesnt do it n its frustrating me like on 3:23 or 3:48 or 4:08-4:13

  • @slurpslurpkitty

I see him doing it at the first two points you mentioned but between 4:08-4:13 he doesn't do it one time but you cal still hear the slide and Walter isn't doing it either, I hope someone else isn't playing it backstage...

  • @bythenutstall Ofcourse there isn't someone playing backstage. This is getting so annoying but I have said this is more then one time in my comments on this video. After they recorded this show they went back in the studio and they overdubbed most of JT singing and guitarplaying.Anyway Thunders is my hero and to me he's always will be the greatest guitarplayer ever. But this isn't exactly one of his better shows. But saying that someone is playing backstage is just bullshit.

  • @8754richard 8754dicksinurbutt

  • @idontwantohurtnobody And if you obviously don't like Walter Lure why come ask me for some Heartbreakersbootlegs.Do you really think I would give them to a hopeless person like you.

  • Why are people hating on JT? The man had some problems but who cares? It's all about the music and JT ooozes talent and S T Y L E! Something alot of players have lost. If you don't like JT leave this page and find your precious fallout boy shit somewhere eles. AWESOME POST!

  • 33,966!

  • "Everybody wants something, huh?"

  • @tybeebeech

    "everybody wants some drug" :)

  • I love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!

    great videoo

  • just read " please kill me" great book i recommend for anyone who wants the inside scoop on this whole scene.

  • wimpy (walter)lure is a fucken bitch allways has been , just like creeg. all he ever did is what he was told. johnny ramone even punked wimpy lure ok. so if your weak (creeg) i guess you would like wimpy. you probably work in nan office just like wimpy lure does , well , your both fucken wimps.

  • @idontwantohurtnobody You probably don´t even know that Walter Lure played most of the guitarparts on the Ramonesalbums Subterranean Jungle and Too Tough to Die and I believe the reason for that was that the other Ramones thought Walter did a better job of playing that guitarparts then Johnny Ramone. Sorry if my english isn´t that good, maybe it sucks, but not as much as your stupid childish annoying comments.

  • @8754richard you and lure are pussies.

  • @idontwantohurtnobody Hahaha loser

  • @8754richard Pussy

  • @8754richard fuck you, if you don't like jt, then why are you watching the damn video??

  • @TheClassicpunk1 Are you totally stupid or what.I said that idontwantohurtnobody is boring and not JT.I am a huge JTfan, I have all his official albums and dvds. And about 200 bootlegcds and cdrs and about 20 bootlegdvd so why the fuck are you saying I don't like JT. I adore him, so read all the comments before you say something stupid

  • @TheClassicpunk1 And yes I also said somewhere in the comment on this video that this is one of JT worst performances because almost everything was overdubbed in the studio after they recorded this. But every real Thunders and Heartbreakersfan knows this and they all will say the same about this performance. And I was having a go at that Idontwantohurtnobodydude because he was making a fool of Walter Lure. But Walter Lure was and is still great.

  • pure rock'n'roll.... nothing else!

  • Johnny we miss you so much!

  • Do you remember Walter!

This is the best song from these guys and it ain't Johnny.

Go see Walter, he tours all the time.

  • @creeg Walter just played and had a reunion with Billy Rath. Our two Heartbreakers sounded amazing together once again.

  • Billy Rath and Walter Lure don't get enough credit. They held the band together,Billy always carrying the rythem and Walter always picking up the slack from Thunders when he wasen't sober ect. Im glad they have gigs of Thunders whens hes completely fine,he was a great guy and very friendly. It's too bad hes known as just a junkie, but to us his real fans hes known as a the James Dean of Rock n Roll, dirty sleezy kickassing guitar wheeling god.

  • Lure rules!

  • played london the night after johnny and there were pink plectrums with his name on all over the stage,i picked them up and still have them to day...sadly i think his last gig....the chines rock strikes again,,,,and again...and again..r.i p johnny

  • To Live Like You Wish You Gotta Swim Like A Fish!

  • I saw the Heartbreakers in 1978 at the Mabuhay Gardens and they were AMAZING.

  • I played on that show with the Liars/Sudden Fun!!!

  • hahahah

    3:51 is funny

  • enoch powell was a paranoid, vain, racist fascist that died in disgrace. If you want to identify with that, I feel sorry for you.

Don't bother to reply, I'll just block you...

Thunders was cool-, though drugs are NOT good...

  • @musikfanat speak for yourself bud, and I love getting blocked, go for it tough guy!

  • @zosothedestroyer I have nothing against you...

  • I luv this!

  • Walter looks like he's sayin' "Fine. Yeah. Whatever. You're the dope fiend legend. Who has my check>"

  • johnny thunders is the one in the black right?

and who cares if he's junked out, i could get down with this..

  • Because if he sounds like an annoying, whinny little bitch and appears incapable of playing guitar (we all know that far from being an amateur, he is a master at what he does) like he does on many live recordings (not this one), then the excellence of his music does not come through. That's why I care.

Listen to "Have Faith (Live in Japan, 1988)", "Too Much Junkie Business" (1982) or "Gang Warfare" (with Wayne Kramer of MC5). I emphasize "TRY", because JT sounds awful on those recordings.

  • I have seen this guy incapable of even walking.

And I'm a Irish street drunk.

The guy in my band was friends with him and told me Johnny was a wop like him.

Everytime I met him he was a jerkoff.

The guy never shows up, he's late or totally fucked up, just like me.

I do think he is immensely talented.

I wish he had more exposure.

    The fuc can rak out!

He had a crazy life I guess.

  • This is a good performance, especially for JT. On most of the live recordings I've heard of his, he is too junked out to remember his lyrics, let alone play.

  • Really?Another annoying comment about JT and being junked out. I have about 200 cds and cdrs of JT and on most of them he just sounds fine. And about this performance. This is actually one of his worst performances. And after they recorded this show they went back in the studio and most of JT's singing and guitarplaying were added in the studio. And if you watch the whole dvd you can easily tell, because there are parts where you can hear him singing and he isn't even close to a microphone.

  • Same for the guitarplaying. Just watch So Alone or Born to Lose from this dvd and you will see what I mean. Anyway all those comments about JT and dope and being junked out are really getting annoying. And like I said before he messed up sometimes, but most of the times his performances were just great. Thunders should be remembered for being a great guitarplayer and not for being a junkie.

  • HELL YEAH!

  • That is how I remember him. As the brilliantly raunchy, colorful, and sloppy guitarist of the New York Dolls, and as the closest player punk had to a Chuck Berry when he was playing with the Heartbreakers on L.A.M.F.

That fact remains that he was a junkie and that the shit affected his playing on many live recordings. If you have any shows of his on mp3 that prove contrary to what I've said, then I am all ears. Send them to me. I honestly WANT to be proven wrong in my assessment.

  • Like I said before I have about 200 bootlegcds and cdrs and most of those shows are excellent. I am not able to copy now, but when I am able to in the future I will let you know and I will sent you some copies. But for some weird reason JT official releases are not exactly his best performances. Not only the cd, but dvds to, look at the In Cold Blood dvd. That one is really terrible, I wonder why they ever released that. And about his performance.

  • This is one of his worst performances ever, because he was at his worst at this show. And the reason why it looks and sounds good is because allmost all of his guitarplaying and singing were overdubbed in the studio. Anyway I already said that before. But when I am able to copy, I will send you some excellent perfomances.

  • @JabberOff i think he was a great guitar player but i once saw him play in london and he was so `out of it` as his arm came to strum he was actually completely missing the strings at another london gig he asked the audience `if anyone had a joint` in typical english humour/sarcasm someone shouted `beef or lamb`

  • John was great, messed or not.

  • Ofcourse he was great. That's not what I meant. Jee I am a huge Thundersfan and for me he always will be the greatest guitarplayer ever. But what I meant was that all those comments about JT and dope and being fucked up are getting annoying. And also the fact that some people think that he was almost always messed up, which simply isn't true. And I like JT best when he is sober or at least semisober and not totally out of it.

  • Oh, btw sorry, "Too much.." song isn't on L.A.M.F, but however... I have only a version where Walter sings it.

  • Walter sings "one track mind" and "too much..." on L.A.M.F album. Usually he sings them on the stage too. Walter and Johnny were both vocalists of the heartbreakers, but Johnny was the "main vocalist" and Walter sings "only" some "Walter's songs"

  • Walter also sings All by Myself,Gett off the Phone and Can't keep my Eyes on you on the LAMF album.

  • Hey, I'm don't know much about JT&H, but is Walter Lure singing here far more than Johnny Thunders? How's that on the album(s)?

  • i hate how johnny was always turned up a little more than walter...jt is one of my favorite and reasons why i picked up a guitar but so isent walter and walter carried the band and did alot more

  • fuckin great song!!! we miss thunder!!

  • congratulations. today this video was selected by the NYC Punk Rock Evolution Foundation.

  • a good and bad day for punk. wow!

  • I assume this was around '77, same year as L.A.M.F.?

  • 1984

  • 1984, nah? cant be...?!?!?!!

  • its '84 in england, lyceum theater

  • yeah thanks for that, just read they regroped now and then, didn't know that, while we are it, richard hell is singing with jt right?

  • No ofcours not. Richard Hell only was in the Heartbreakers for a very short period. And he was replaced by Billy Rath before they released anything officialy. So this is Johnny Thunders, Walter Lure, Billy Rath and Jerry Nolan.

  • hey bro thanks, got my facts straigt afterwards, it's wally singing.

  • Okay, but I remember now there are two Heartbreakers livealbums which includes Richard Hell. The name of the albums are Live at Mothers and What goes Around. The shows on it are from 1975 and 1976. It's the same material on both albums, only one album has more songs on it. They were released in 1991 I thought.

  • The greatest (and the truly original) post-NYDolls punk band - and they could really play, by the way!!!

  • Walter looks like he's thinking, "I am going to endure this schmuck because his name is a means of getting a paycheck. With regards to that proposal I say: YOU GO WALTER!

  • if Wally got paid it wasn't from JT

  • So much love to Walter!

  • From the 'Live at Lyceum' LP. BRILLIANT!

  • i like how they keep pushing each other lol

  • great video
