  • When you sell on Amazon.com, they take 20% of the sale as commission. Additionally, they freeze your funds at seemingly random intervals. If a customer claims they did not receive an item--even if you can provide a delievry confirmation number showing that it had been delievered--Amazon will pay the claim at your expense. I still have not been paid for sales made from the December period, which amounts to over $1,300.

See that little text in the top right corner of the screen, just above the wish list drop down menu? Yeah, that's called the HELP section. Pretty sure you can find everything you need there. Next time you go online to complain about one of the greatest companies this country's ever seen, do your homework first.

    I work at Amazon, with about 500 other people JUST in my building. Each of us taking 40-50 calls per day with other locations handling email contacts. Tell the people we talk to everyday there is no way to contact us.

How do you like my expensive orders that I am paying for blocked for excuses the seller placed charges agasint me for not paying for it. when I paid for it.     Screw the little guy! Amazon took my £4500 and returned it over 90 days later. I wonder how many other internet retailers they have done this to..? If it wasn't for my Kind Father it could have sunk my business! I couldn't speak to anyone at Amazon because they only work through email! I would like to warn people who are thinking of selling with Amazon..! They are a law unto themselves..!

  • I worked at Amazon for 3.5 years and it was the highlight of my life. They do some things that are wrong and slow [they should be publishing their own branded books, for instance] but overall what Jeff says here is absolutely right. Their customers are paramount in that company; I hope it never changes. Jeff, bravo buddy. I miss hearing that great laugh in the PacMed cafeteria every day.

Considering his heritage, he uses his intelligence for positive goals to provide the best for others and his employees. Although some books have been pulled from his site, I'm impressed with most that aren't. A fine line to survive in this political world. I would sure love to have lunch with him. Steve

  • We've actually just showed this to our marketing execs. Marketing guys and gals can get so obsessed with measuring their spend - they forget why they're doing the marketing in the first place.

    This video is an awesome reminder of what business is all about - customer obsession (oh and also a great lesson on how to market a brand!... zappos!) - awesome all round.

  • One time I bought boots from Zappos. I tried them on and one got stuck, so I had to cut it off my leg. I decided to call customer service before doing it and they said, "No problem! Send them back and we'll give you your money back or send you another pair free of charge." It was amazing and it kept my loyalty.
