@gewizz2 I think theyre pushing 6000+ meters with this little 200mw unit!! :) Ive personally taken a micro plane with the same VTX to 1.2km's with a 14db patch. 500mw and more is NOT what you want for FPV ;)

500mw 2.4ghz is good for over 30km with the right antennas - its all in the antennas...

@ktoschris You "CAN" but your video would have crazy interference and be useless, probably would loose some range with your 2.4ghz radio too. Imagine someone yelling out commands to you across the park then another guy steps in and starts yelling in your ear - makes the commands harder to hear - same sorta thing basically.

@ktoschris I know OF it, if you google "frequency calculator" you will find some websites to help you get the right length on your antennas. Ideally you would make the antenna then have it tested and modified to hit the exact frequency you want. The higher frequency you go the shorter and more difficult to get the right length (5.8ghz @ full wave is 51.724mm).

@gewizz2 100m for 200mW, WTF?!! Your 200mW must be more like 20mW, 200mW has much more range that 100m especially with a good antenna and receiver.

I guess the big head, being made out of radio transparent foam did not interfere with the GPS signal.
